      But how do you know what Paul preached? You do realize that the Bible you read has been changed many times over since Paul wrote Galatians, right?

      Here are a few places where it is not:
      -Matthew 9:18 says Jairus' daughter had just died when he came to Jesus for help. In Mark 5:22, it says she was near death.
      -2 Kings 24:8 says Jehoiachin was 18 when he became king. 2 Chronicles 36:9 says he was 8 (except in translations where the disagreement was corrected).
      -Matthew 12:30 says "He that is not with me is against me", but Mark 9:40 says "he that is not against us is for us".
      -1 Samuel 15:11 says God indicated "I regret that I have made Saul king", and 1 Samuel 15:35 says "the LORD regretted that He had made Saul king over Israel", but 1 Samuel 15:27 says that God "is not a man, that He should change His mind", as does Numbers 23:19.
      -1 Chronicles 21:1 says Satan tempted David to order a census of his people, but in 2 Samuel 24:1, it says God is the one who tempted David to do it.
      Clearly, alterations have been made to the text: some through careless transcribing (where parts of the text were missed or miscopied) or through the intentional additions of uninspired interpolations. It's not correct to claim the Bible is "totally coherent with itself", and doing so just hands ammunition over to atheists looking to destroy people's faith. It's far better to recognize that the Bible is mostly coherent with itself with amazing intricacy while recognizing that some alterations have been made to the text, than it is to fallaciously claim the Bible as it exists today is totally inerrant and entirely consistent.

      but speaking of teaching another gospel ... protestants removed some books from the bible ... so they are teaching another gospel.

      Both Muslims and Mormons profess belief in the God of Scripture. However, their gods stand in stark contrast to Yahweh, the one true and living God.
      Islam’s god, Allah, is monolithic, impersonal, unknowable, and unapproachable. He is the author of both good and evil and fatalistically determines all things.
      Mormons worship Elohim, or “Heavenly Father,” as the god of this world. Once a man, he attained deity, as did his first-born spirit child Jesus (Jehovah). Mormons believe there are many gods and many worlds and that men may themselves become gods one day.
      2. A false prophet.
      Muhammad emerged in the 7th century claiming visitations from the angel Gabriel, who informed him that Jews and Christians had corrupted the Scriptures and abandoned true monotheism. Thus, Allah chose Muhammad as the “Seal of the Prophets,” the last of 124,000 prophets sent to show people the right path.
      Twelve centuries later, Joseph Smith claimed God the Father and Jesus Christ appeared to him, tapping this 14-year-old boy as the one who would reclaim true Christianity.
      3. A false purpose.
      The goal of Islam is to subjugate the world and then rule it according to Islamic law. Muhammad claimed he was restoring true monotheism, which superseded both Judaism and Christianity. When the Jews of Medina rejected him as the last of the Old Testament prophets, he conquered their villages, plundered their goods, took their wives as slaves, and on one occasion directed the slaughter of several hundred Jews in a single day.
      Joseph Smith claimed his calling was to restore true Christianity, which had fallen into complete apostasy after the death of the apostles. When rejected as a true prophet, Smith was far less bloody than Muhammad but equally offended. He ordered the destruction of a newspaper that criticized him, which led to his arrest and death in a jailhouse shootout.
      4. False scriptures.
      For 23 years, Muhammad claimed to receive revelations from Allah through Gabriel. He committed these words to memory and shared them with his followers, who wrote them down. After his death they were gathered into the Qur’an.
      Interestingly, after his first alleged visit from Gabriel, the terrified prophet believed a jinn (evil spirit) had visited him, and on one occasion he admitted receiving a Qur’anic text from the Devil. These “Satanic verses” subsequently were removed.
      Joseph Smith also claimed to receive divine revelations. In addition to the Book of Mormon, which he “translated” via peep stones called “Urim” and “Thummim,” Smith and his colleagues produced Doctrine and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price.
      5. False doctrines.
      Islam professes many beliefs that are contrary to the Word of God, among them: That to worship a triune God is polytheism; that Jesus is not the Son of God or the Savior of the world; that Jesus did not die on the cross or rise from the dead; and that salvation comes through a combination of human effort and Allah’s predestination.
      Mormonism, while claiming to be restored Christianity, teaches many doctrines foreign to the Holy Scriptures: That every person and every god has always existed, making humans of the same nature as the god of this world (Elohim); that Jesus earned godhood in pre-mortal life; that His finished work on the cross secured resurrection for us, not forgiveness of sins; and that godhood is attainable.
      6. False hope.
      Since salvation in both Islam and Mormonism is based on human effort, no Muslim or Mormon can know with certainty that he or she is eternally secure. Life is to be lived in the hope of pleasing a god who requires our works in exchange for his acceptance.

      What a contrast to the gospel of Jesus Christ, in which God sends His Son to die on a cross and rise from the dead, paying our sin debt and extending to us forgiveness of sins and everlasting life by His grace through faith.
      Satan may continue to spawn new religions, but Jesus tells us that the false prophets who lead them may be known by their “fruits” - that is, their unbiblical lifestyles and false teachings (Matt. 7:15-23).

    I was raised Mormon and at the age of 49 had an encounter with the Holy spirit and came to know Jesus Christ and left the Mormon Church. I was never raised knowing Jesus only man made rules. I thank God very day for saving me and opening my eyes.

      I was just months shy of 48. After a lifetime of family friends and culture it was like a death, but ever so worth it to be born again.

      If you didnt learn about Jesus, you never went to church. I really hate liars. If you had a true bad experience thats one thing. But me now 44 having been in church and having been a teacher, I know your story is just so crazy false. Its okay to not like a religion, but deception is nasty.

      The main harm and danger caused by the man-made Bible and the man-made Quran is, that even though they contain man-made wisdom, they also contain man-made errors that are claimed to be the word of their god.
      By that, they expect the reality to adjust to those errors and not vice versa.
      Thats very harmful, especially as those man-made and “godly claimed” errors include topics like e.g. astronomy, evolution, biology and homosexuality.

      @@jimbanton3820 The sad thing is that you do not know the truth when you hear it because you have been indoctrinated by the untruth for so long that you have come to believe it to be the truth. If only you could come away from the brainwashing, you would see that Mr. MacArthur is speaking the truth. So often the only way one can undo this kind of washing is to have some counselling so then they have a true reference point to start from. Why you do not have a Peace about where you will spend your life after death is because you will NEVER know if you have done enough, and you can only find that out after you die, then it IS too late. You see the True Christian KNOWS exactly where they will be, and it will be with the same God as the Bible tells us about because it is God Himself who gave us His Word the Bible. We as Christians do not wish to make you feel bad but we say things seeming like we are being harsh and don't care but look to the Bible how Jesus was He did not pull any punches, he flipped those Tables. Why not? because we as humans don't listen to the soft-spoken words to often, we have to be smacked alongside of our head to get our attention sometimes but we do that because we want so badly for the Mormon people to find to truth so they too can be a True Christian.

Not to mention how disrespectfully he speaks about the faith of others. Sad that someone who considers himself an authority on Christianity would speak in such an un-Christianlike way.

      John 14:15 & 21; this effectively tells the reader that the way to salvation is through the law, and ‘all of it’; no room to cherry pick.
      They’ll say “But that was the OT,” and you refer them to Matthew 5:17-18: “I come not to change the law...not a jot or a tittle.”
      Then go to Exodus 21:20 (beating a slave), Luke 14:26 “If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters-yes, even their own life-such a person cannot be my disciple.
      Deuteronomy 22:21 Hymen not breaking? Daniel 6:24 wives and children? and Deuteronomy 21:18-21 (stoning your errant child).
      Under John 14 they must honour all these commandments. Psalm 137:9 killing infants. Matthew 10:34 Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. Sounds like a terrrible moral code to live by.

    I was a Mormon, I went on a mission for two years. I did the Mormon thing for 50 years. I am a Christian now
    I asked God to forgive for my sins. I love Jesus Christ Our Savior and Redeemer. I believe in grace of God.

      Why do I not see any Mormon responses to this? Could it be that they are just too Proud to say, they believe that they can only get the grace by doing works. Grace by works is such an Oxymoron, GRACE cannot be Grace if it can only be achieved by works. Grace is given by God Freely but only to those that put their trust and belief in Him (to those who will REST on His Word the Bible). Not the people who believe they can only get it by doing good works.

      I’m sorry that you spent 50+ years attending the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and never felt you were a true Christian. I love being a member of Jesus Christs church. I know he loves you and me and suffered for mine and your sins. I know he lives again. And because of his atonement and saving grace you and I will be able to live again because of him.       I too served a LDS mission in the late '70s and became disenfranchised during my 2-year mission as I felt the only thing that I was doing was tracking numbers and by numbers I mean how many people I met with how many Mormon discussions I taught investigators and tallied all those up and sent them off to church headquarters so they could calculate future earnings from tithing and that stuck with me for a very long time until I just grew more and more uncomfortable with doctrine and inconsistencies and a very suspect history of how the church originated Joseph Smith's shenanigans in just craziness finally just caught up with me and I left the church and 2007 never looked back.

    I found this response to be inaccurate of Latter-day Saint doctrines. He may have spoken to a BYU professor for a while, but did not fairly state our positions. He first makes a glib remark that we are demon worshipers. He then claims we are polytheist, which isn’t an accurate statement of our doctrine. He then says we worship a different Jesus. It’s true we believe different things about Jesus than traditional Christianity, but it is the same Jesus in the New Testament.
    We believe in Salvation by grace. However, I feel traditional Christianity sets up a false dichotomy: Salvation by grace or works. What if it’s both? Yes, we are saved by th grace of Christ, but now we are in debt to Him. And what does does He ask of us? If ye love me, keep my commandments. John 14:15. He minced no words when He stated in the Sermon on the Mount that if we were not more righteous than the Scribes and Pharisees we could not enter the Kingdom of God. Matt. 5:20. It’s is not an accurate portrayal of the Bible to take a few statements from Paul and twist them into a doctrine that works have no bearing on the state of our soul.
    In answer to the other individual. We are not trying to get into the Christian club so we can hang with the cool kids. We are simply claiming to be Christian because we believe in Christ. If you want to more narrowly define what you have to believe in order to be Christian, you can do that. We choose the broader definition that a Christian is someone who believes in Christ. Yes. We have different doctrine than other traditional Christians, but we still believe in Christ.

      @@CDawson28 I can try and answer those questions while not prolonging too much. The Joseph Smith question is quite simple: members of the church believe that Joseph Smith is a prophet, just like the prophets of old, Moses, Noah, John the Baptist, etc. They believe Joseph Smith received revelation just as these other prophets did, and that God always worked through prophets and always will. No prayers to JS, not worshipping, nothing like that.
      About salvation and works, there is a more detailed explanation. We believe that, IF NOT for Jesus Christ, nobody could be saved. Every single person that ever existed or would exist could not be saved, since we all sin and “…the wages of sin is death…” (Romans 6:23).
      Because God is perfectly just, He could not just wave his hand and save everybody, for it goes against his own character, so he prepared a plan for us to be saved. His beloved Son, Jesus Christ offered himself to come to Earth, live a perfect life, and die in exchange for us. Opposite to everyone else, Jesus was truly perfect and gave his own perfect life so we could be saved. He satisfied both the laws of justice (which required death, for all of us have sinned) and the laws of mercy.
      Through Jesus Christ’s atonement, we’ve received salvation. Every single person will resurrect and receive a perfect body. Death is not the end anymore.
      But Jesus didn’t give us this gift “only”. He also gave us commandments. As he said himself, “if ye love me, keep my commandments”. He wants to give us more, he wants us to be better. After he bought us with his sacrifice, He is ready to give us everything he has in store for us, but the way we can receive is to obey His commandments.
      In Matthew 5:48, after one of (if not the) most iconic speeches from Jesus, he finishes it with “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect”. That is part of the sermon of the mountain, where Jesus gave us the “new law” and where he taught us how we should be. The commandments we receive from Jesus Christ are to teach us how to be more like Him and God. Members of the Church of Jesus Christ believe that through the power of Christ, everyone can be more like Him, and one day live in His presence.
      This is more of a summarized version of beliefs. The official (also summarized) statement of what the church believes are called Articles of Faith. If you google “Church or Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Articles of Faith” you will see the 13 articles that do a better job of summarizing the official beliefs of the church.

      No it is not “works” based on it is based on the saving atonement of Jesus Christ, 100% completely because of him and through his grace we are saved. The only works required to receive of all the blessing God has in store for the faithful is ordinances (think baptism) and repentance, further aligning our will with God to help us in becoming more like our Savior, Jesus Christ. Don’t mainstream Christians believe in repentance? And no, we do not in any way worship Joseph Smith. We esteem him as other prophets in other times, like Moses and Abraham. We seek to follow the doctrines and principles he taught just as we do those taught in the Bible.

      @@nategibbs5483 What a complete and total misrepresentation of the way Mormonism is practiced, but I understand the utility of doing so because Mormons so badly want to consider themselves Christian when they certainly and most definitely are not. In fact, Mormons are fed lies straight from the pits of hell.
      If Mormonism is not works-based then why do you completely abstain from coffee, alcohol and tobacco? Doesn't Jesus teach us in the book of Matthew that "What goes into someone's mouth does not defile them..." ? The perfectionism in which Mormons strive for in daily life is proof of it being a works-based, and thus, false religion, just like Catholicism, Islam, etc.
      What about all the super secret ceremonies Mormons practice at their temples? Special handshakes through a white sheet, as an example. Works-based salvation!
      As for your "prophet" Joseph Smith? Did it ever occur to Mormons to compare Joseph Smith to any of the prophets mentioned in the Bible, like Isaiah? Joseph Smith was a FRAUD in every way and was even arrested for scamming people out of money. I won't even mention his practice of polygamy because that's hack at this point. Instead, let's discuss his polyandry -- marrying other men's wives, marrying both mother and daughter (many of whom were 12 & 13 years-old.) Does that sound like a heavenly prophet to you?
      I pray that every Mormon wakes up and realizes the truth about their false religion. I pray that each individual who believes these hellish lies is awakened and flees from the viper pit.
      Mormons are being tricked by Satan himself to believe in so many things other than the Truth -- Jesus is the Messiah, our Savior, the Great Mediator between us and the Father. All we need is Him, not legalism or perfectionism as Mormons believe. All glory to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Not any false prophets.

    If Mormons are not Christians, why do they have the name of Jesus Christ in their church and claim to be run the way that was set out in 1 Corinthians 12:28 and strive to follow him according to the best of their understanding?

      I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago-whether in the body I do not know, or whether out of the body I do not know, God knows-such a one was caught up to the third heaven. 3 And I know such a man-whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows- 4 how he was caught up into Paradise and heard inexpressible words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.
      The third level of heaven in the Bible is where God dwells. The second level of heaven in the Bible is where the stars and planets dwell and the first level of heaven is the visible sky/atmosphere where planes and birds fly.

      And GOD HAS APPOINTED these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues.
      God no longer appoints people to the church to help establish the new church. The church is now established and God spesks to us today through His word under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. We are no longer in the new church age. We are no longer in the apostolic age and God no longer speaks to us through prophets. All of the gifts ceased after the apostolic age.

If Since the gifts were given to empower the church for ministry, build the church, and edify the church, I think it is strange to argue that they were only needed during the time of the Apostles; as the job is not yet complete! We still need His help!
      “But he that prophesies speaks unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort. He that speaks in an unknown tongue edifies himself; but he that prophesies edifies the church.” 1 Corinthians 14:3,4.

      You can check it in it's original greek. It refers to the act of being married, not the state of being married. Basically it means there are no weddings in Heaven. LDS belief is that marriages must be taken care of before one is judged.

      My experience has been that without grace, without faith which in itself is a gift from God , my own efforts could only produce a hollow and more temporary work or success against sin. It has been God's immense grace that has empowered me through faith to overcome sin and suffering with His help for the big win in an internal deeply felt longterm effect. Ephesians 2.8-10 The works become the Fruit that was long ago prepared that l was meant to walk in. So l am not saved by my works , but l was saved by grace through faith in God all a gift of God that l could not boast, now l work due to gratitude and joy which is the fruit of my faith which is a gift, still can't boast.. All l have is Jesus Christ and the Father who drew me to Him , and the Holy Spirit which fills my heart..what else could l possibly need?❤🙏

I will forego your sad attempt at humiliation in condemning a mistyping of the abbreviation of James, and direct you to the full summary that James, the brother of Jesus, give on the topic of faith and works. The passages you are looking for are James 2:14-26. If you want to say that Jesus’ brother misunderstood the teaching he heard directly from the Savior’s mouth, then we will have to ask “what else in the Bible is incorrect, and how would you propose we rectify such false teachings?” If you believe the Bible as you claim you do, then you have to recalibrate your understanding of faith alone being sufficient for salvation. Jesus said in Matt 7:21, “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that DOETH the will of my Father which is in heaven.” It would seem that even Jesus claimed there was a level of effort that is need to be allowed into Heaven. Faith alone isn’t enough.
      Just to give a little perspective to your claim, everyone that you disagree with religiously would be saved so long as they accept Jesus into their lives. Therefore, you may disagree with the Mormons, but as they have accepted Jesus, they too are saved. But according to you, and every other born again Christian, this can not be allowed, so you say that the “Mormon Jesus” is the wrong Jesus, thereby disqualifying them from the saving grace of God. But there is only one Jesus, so how can the Mormons worship the wrong Jesus if there is only one?
      The born again Christian argument is breed from the same self righteous belief as the Jews of the Old Testament, that sought only to find comfort in their sinful ways. To say the one would have to live without indulging in the worldly pleasures that are ever present before us all, would be to difficult of a task for people who just want an easy path to everlasting joy and peace in the next life. But a true Christian would understand that to live with Jesus where he live would require one to live on earth as He did.

      Whenever Mormons go on their mission, they not only greet everyone on the road about Mormonism, they also go house to house which it states quite clearly not to do in Luke 10:3-12. But also when they do spread the word they don’t even give people the Bible but the Book of Mormon instead, if that’s not the exact definition of heresy then I don’t know what is.

      Luke 10:3-12 doesn't say that at all. The last sentence of verse 7 does say that but within the context of don't move around house to house when in a city but stay in one house while you are there.

This was 2000 years ago. Then suddenly God changes his mind and sends His angels to tell Joseph Smith to create new books that say that Jesus is our spiritual brother and the first human God raised to God hood? And that when we die we will become God's of our own planets? You are being deceived. That's why you're not allowed to marry a Christian and you are only allowed to be friends with and be married to other Mormons? Doesn't that sound kind of DEMONIC to you? It's meant to keep you in deception. Reject this false doctrine! You will go to Hell following this false doctrine! I have never seen a Mormon pass out a Bible.     John MacArthur needs a new nutshell. None of those points would come close to turning me. 1) I never have understood the "another Jesus" delineation. I believe Jesus of Nazareth, the son of God, born of Mary, who lived a sinless life and died on the cross and was resurrected about 33 AD is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. If Christians don't believe that, that's their problem. 2) I've never understood the hyper focus on divorcing faith from works. Works focused on God are interconnected with faith and the two can't be separated. I've watched Christian preachers from different denominations fight this concept amongst themselves in regards to baptism ad nauseum. Please leave my church out of it. 3) The Bible is not a perfectly clear document. It has inconsistent teachings. That's why there are so many Christian Churches!!! I listen to preachers all of the time saying "well in the Greek translation ..... word really means ..... , so you can stop pretending that you believe the Bible is without flaw. The accounts are still true as are the prophecies, the blessings of Israel's posterity, and the testimonies of Christ. It's okay if the Bible isn't 100% accurate so you can also stop bashing on the church for pointing out the obvious. 4) Protestant churches always go after the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on saved by grace, but when they talk among themselves they preach a lot about doing good works and condemning bad works. Everyone knows it. Spare us the hypocrisy. 5) Evangelicals freak out about the becoming Gods concept. Every baby has a spark of divinity. God imparts blessings and powers with those he trusts. We can become "joint heirs with Christ." What does that biblical teaching mean? What exactly are you going to inherit? A nice house in a great community where there are no sins and no problem? We all know there is more to the universe and eternity than that. I can believe this without worshiping everyone around me. I worship God, not his children, even though the children possess great potential. The polytheism argument against the church does not resonate with me at all.

      @@michaelgregory7719 It's easy for me to put some limits on that. I believe Christ created the earth we live in, but Jesus did not create God the Father, nor did he create Satan. God the Father created our spirits. My spirit, your spirit, Christ's spirit, Satan's spirit. Christ is quoted in John 20:17 that he is going to his Father and your Father. Isaiah 14 talks about Satan being cast out of heaven as does Revelations 12. Although so many Christian Pastors love to pretend that they understand the relationship between Christ and Satan and condemn other for believing otherwise, the Bible does not spell out Christ's / Satan's relationship. If you dare read the Book of Abraham 3:22 (Pearl of Great Price) to the end of the chapter, you will find additional information on what Satan's banishment looked like and the relationship between God the Father, Christ the Son, and Satan. It's harder for me to believe that Satan is Christ's creation / son as taught by Evangelical churches than to believe they are spirit brothers who took two separate paths.

      Most of Mormons I think are quite intelligent but the sad part is that most of them are a foolish people, they are deceived by anything that their church or that matter also Joseph Smith told them. They cannot decipher truth from fiction. Why do you think the true Christian care about the LDS members is because we see how foolish they can be in the things that they believe when most people are able to tell that it is fiction or nothing but a fairytale but they believe it to be true. They are told to keep trying to receive the burning in the bosom and if they don't get it just keep trying and then they feel something and they then believe it is the burning but it could very well be an upset stomach. They even sometimes read the Bible and they know that Gods Word the Bible does not mention anything about the Burning in the Bosom. It is exactly the same thing that Pentecostals do they keep telling the ones in their congregation that if they keep working on it, they will get the gift of speaking in tongues, so the members keep trying and then finally they get something sounding like baby talk and they think now they have the gift of speaking in tongues. I am sorry to say that is not of God because God says that He is not a God of confusion and if you listen to anyone speaking in tongues it is very confusing and stressful, this is not of God.
      I am sorry that you do not know the God or Jesus of the Bible because if you did you would not be a Mormon. Your Jesus was created our Jesus was from Eternity past and will be forever, He had no beginning, you think God was a man before He became God and before the man was another God. I have yet found a Mormon to realize how ridiculously foolish and Gullible that this kind of thinking is. Even though I can spell out how foolish this thinking is and the IMPOSSIBILITY this could be, you will most likely not catch on.
      So, if God was a man first and before that man was a God who had been a man. I who has lots of common sense can understand the impossibility of this. So, my question to you is you also believe that if you play your cards right you can also become a God someday, and that you will have bliss with your family on a planet that you get to create. Now if you truly believe all of that, I now ask you to make some sense in your head on how that could be, if you admit that all the Gods through the Eternities have all lost their Power or they had to relinquish their power to the next man in line of getting the position of being the next God. So, if these Gods died off and then the next God took His place. How in the world do you think that when it becomes your turn to be a God that you are now going to live forever being a God. Can you see the point I am making, you too will someday lose your Godhood and the next person in line will take your place. So, then your spot that you had worked so hard to achieve is now gone forever. This is why the LDS people are known by most people that are not Mormons to be so very gullible by thinking like this. I only took my time to explain this, is because we as true Christians want you to realize the foolishness that you believe in. I am only talking about one foolish thing that you believe in and there are many of them. We want you to find the real Jesus and the real God because they are the only ones that can make your life worth living. You can stay with the Mormon church and you will never come to the point of reaching a place of Joy and Peace. It is not going to happen! Only the Real Jesus and God can give True Satisfaction and PEACE.

If you want to know what they truly believe, just look up their website and meet with missionaries! It's that easy.       Because many of those people who left the church love their Mormon friends and family and want them to understand that they need to accept the gift of God, repent and come to the true Jesus of the bible to be saved. Works, temple recommends, temple marriage, sealings, baptism for the dead, tithing, none of these will get a person to heaven.

    I'm a Latter-day saint, and honestly, the way he mocked and demeaned us by calling us devil worshippers and misconstruing some of our beliefs, as well as the hatred leveled against us in the comments section was extremely discouraging.
    All I and my friends want is to live honest lives and improve who we are through the atonement of Christ. Being bullied for that is demoralizing and hurtful. Sure we have different doctrines from other Christians, but I don't see why that's an issue since you can say the same about every religion and sect on Earth. Different people have different opinions-that's completely normal.
    The way I see it, the most vital thing is for everyone to be the best they can with whatever knowledge has been given to them in their mortal lives, and strive for honesty and righteousness in whatever way they understand. Obviously human nature constantly gets in the way of that, but no group of people can be exempted from those flaws. We have them, and so does everyone else.
    But what hurt even more was that I sensed little if any Christian humility or compassion here, from John and most of the commenters. You can call me biased-I definitely am-but the truth is that I generally think of people of other faiths, particularly other Christians, as being brothers and sisters in the worship of God, and this video weakened my faith in that conviction. It made me wonder if maybe the anti-theist community is right that Christianity and religion in general is more likely to breed arrogance and bigotry than love and compassion, and that was a far worse revelation than the idea that I'm going to be mocked and belittled just because I'm trying to be the best person I can through the traditions I was born into.

      All those things are good intentioned. What I don't understand and please give me your insight about the ideas about heaven. It sounds like in some states of heaven, you have people who marry each other.
      Christ has said "At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven."
      So I just don't know how that belief even started when we have direct words from Christ.

    I've often thought that it is interesting to note the personal contempt that evangelical Protestant Christianity displays towards Mormonism. I've noticed this before and I imagine that it is something that will continue. I'm just left wondering why. I understand that there are difference in belief, but the level of obvious disrespect that is frequently pointed towards us puzzles me somewhat.

      If you think the contempt Christians who are faithful to God have for Mormon doctrine is interesting, you should take note of the contempt God has for Mormonism.
      You can begin to understand God's actual contempt for their religion in this verse: Gal 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
      The word accursed there at the end is also the greek word anathema which means to be damned to Hell.
      Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
      The Gospel is Jesus crucified, died, buried, and raised from the dead. And his brutal scourging and crucifixion are the full price paid for our sins. When we confess our sins, and ask Him for forgiveness, we receive it and eternal life sealed in our spirits.
      The Mormon Jesus is not the historical and actual Jesus. They define him differently. Their "gospel" is entirely different and therefore false and leading people to Hell. Yet they claim to be Christian and it is entirely deceitful for them to do so knowing they don't believe the Word of God.
      This is why true Christians view their teaching with contempt. Personally, I have compassion for Mormons and pray God will save as many fo them as He will. And many have repented and turned to Jesus.

      It's perfectly common for any group of people to be social pariahs when they are different in any way from the majority. I honestly don't see any way to avoid that fact because it's simply human nature to treat those who are different as inferiors.
      I mean, you can train yourself to be more open-minded and loving, but you can't shift a whole society to be that way. The Communists tried, and it didn't turn out so well.

The Book of Abraham is now fiction (1967), the Adam-God doctrine, people live on the moon (Joseph Smith), people live on the moon and on the sun (Brigham Young), Jesus Christ practiced polygamy, fathered children, and was crucified because he practiced polygamy, Joseph Smith is a descendant of Jesus Christ, Joseph Smith was anointed king of the earth during the Millennium by 50 men, etc..

    For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven. Mathew 22:30 . This is like the Jan6 hearings, no debate, just one side. I am a Christian worshiping in a Catholic church. Jesus wants us to love him and accept his sacrifice for our sinful unworthiness. Repentance and Works come as a consequence of the love we have for him. A lot is noise that cannot be known by us.

McArthur worships three gods through the so-called "trinity" teaching which is not even found in the bible (it was added by monastic copyists and used to be labeled 1 Jn 5:7).

      -He would not have called other beings "gods" and his "sons" (Psalm 82:6);
      -Jesus would not have confirmed the statement as scripture (John 10:35);
      -God would not stand in a congregation composed of these "gods" (Psalm 82:1); and
      -The scriptures would not refer to this congregation of "gods" as "holy ones" (Psalm 89:5) and God's sons (v6) that stand among him (v7).
      No, what's true is that you're applying your own presuppositions onto the text, and it's inhibiting your ability to recognize the original meaning.
      Now, when you say that idols that people worship are "no different than a god", that's certainly not correct. An idol has absolutely no power or authority to do anything other than to be acted upon.
      And when you say "We will never be infinite. We will never be all-knowing and all-powerful." that is perhaps true, but Jesus seems to teach something different. While God will always be our God and Father, and we will never equal him in majesty, Jesus taught that his faithful followers:
      -Will be as their master is (Luke 6:40);
      -Will govern in his kingdom (Matthew 19:28-30; Revelation 2:26-28); and
      -Will sit on his throne with him as he sat on his Father's throne (Revelation 3:21).
      Paul says they will have bodies just like Jesus' (Philippians 3:21) and they will mature unto the full "measure of the stature of Christ" (Ephesians 4:13). Peter says they will "partake of the divine nature" (Philippians 3:21). Between Jesus', Paul's, and Peter's statements, it sounds to me like Christ's faithful followers will be "gods" in the same sense that the scriptures talk about the "sons of God" in the Old Testament being "gods", e.g., that they'd be powerful beings trusted with stewardship of various parts of God's creation.

    As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, it really worries me that this man took our doctrine of being sealed for eternity to those we love, our companions and help-meets through our lives and theirs, and emphasized it was sexual? Does he only see his spouse as a sexual object? Poor woman, if so. I hope she finds her voice.
    I feel Evangelical Christians see our religion as a threat. But my Savior and Redeemer is the Jesus Christ which preached the Sermon on the Mount. The Son who came to this Earth so He could set the example and show the way! Who laid down His life, and was resurrected so that someday we all might receive the same gift. The One who will stand with us before the judgement bar of God and allow God to be filled with Justice AND extend Mercy. I wonder what my Lord and Savior would have to say to this young man, who had a genuine question, but went to the wrong source. This young man at the microphone seems to have legit concerns for those this young man feels must not know the Grace of our Savior. I think Jesus Christ would tell this young man, not a bunch of lies, but, "by their fruits, you will know them".
    I hope anyone who is genuinely concerned for the soul of a "Mormon" would actually go talk to a member of my faith who is trying their best to live a life following the teachings of Jesus Christ. What is the fruit of their lives? I'm not talking about a hypocrite that is not really living what our leaders have asked us to incorporate into our lives.
    Where is Christ or God in this leader's response? All I heard was stubborn pride and spreading of misinterpretations of beliefs I love deeply (& NOT in a perverse, sexualized way! Again, I don't understand what I just heard, unless the man responding was staying stubbornly and purposefully ignorant of our beliefs, clinging to his prejudices like the Pharisees who crucified our Savior.)     It is an interesting paradox. I have known "Christians" who regularly fornicated, etc, and then told me 'thank heaven I'm saved by the grace of Christ". Yet Christ said not everyone who says to me Lord Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven but he that does the will of my father in heaven (matt 7:21-23) and there are other such biblical examples. So the LDS version of salvation requiring works has basis in scripture. It simply cannot be true (nor scriptural) that a Christian can do whatever he or she wishes and be saved by grace alone, Mormons believe that grace fills the gap between what submission to gods will and obedience to his laws does in the life of a sinner, and what God requires to enter his kingdom. From my reading of the New Testament this is a very logical and scripturally sound paradigm. We must do, change, become, not merely profess. There are things about Mormonism that make complete sense to me, and others that do not.

      " It simply cannot be true (nor scriptural) that a Christian can do whatever he or she wishes and be saved by grace alone, Mormons believe that grace fills the gap between what submission to gods will and obedience to his laws does in the life of a sinner, and what God requires to enter his kingdom.       There are two things to take away from this. Jesus was talking about people boasting about their works. Who did Jesus say would be in heaven? Those who do the will of His Father.
      What is the most important will of the Father? John 6:40 tells us explicitly that it is the will of the Father: "For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”" that we believe in Christ. Notice we are commanded to believe in Christ.
      "And this is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us."
      "And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved." Acts 4:12
      Those who obey this command are called Christians. God desires that every man and woman believe in Jesus Christ, but not everyone will obey. Only by believing in Jesus Christ will any person obey this command and go to heaven.
      "For God so loved the word that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." Just by believing the Gospel of Jesus Christ we are saved. What is it we believe about Jesus Christ?
      1 Corinthians 15:1-2
      1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
      That is the Gospel. When we believe only in that, we are saved.
      The second take-away is that anyone who continues in sin was never saved to begin with. We are known by our fruits and as James put it, if we have no fruits, our faith is dead.

      These people were either lying or relying on their works to save them, not Christ's righteousness.
      Another example is when the rich young ruler approaches Jesus and asks Him, "What can I DO, to inherit eternal life?"
      Also, look at the Old Testament. "Our good deeds are like filthy rags." Nothing we can do would make up for even one of our sins. All have sinned and fall short of God's glory.

      Thank you for a grounded and graceful response. I am always shocked to see and hear Preachers seeking to condemn other denominations when the Latter-day Saint..Church of Jesus Christ church never seeks to expose, so called truth shaming other fellow seekers of Christ...I have explored Baptist, Lutheran, Episcopalian, Southern Baptist, Trinity Baptist, Catholicism and Judiasm..sat in services, spoke with clergy and their missionaries and find myself ever convinced that I am where I am meant to be, Mormon as they say, and know that many true seekers from all denominations will be saved...the true disqualifier is those who profess his name and live counter his teachings..believing he will save them in their sins..and those who deny him and his divinity... Jesus is my Savior...

      In the Introduction to the Book of Mormon, Joseph Smith, founder of Mormonism wrote, “I told the brethren that the Book of Mormon was the most correct of any book on earth, and the keystone of our religion, and a man would get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts, than by any other book.”
      Temple rituals, underwear with sewn in Masonic symbols, the practice of polygamy, are not in the Book of Mormon. Also you will not learn who the Mormon god is from the Book of Mormon. Smith did not reveal the god of Mormons is an exalted man until 14 years after he wrote the Book of Mormon.

Christ is the only begotten of the Father, not the Holy Ghost The Father and the Holy Ghost are separate personages as President Brigham Young was clarifying from Matthew and Luke Chapter 1. Too which you will probably point out then that President Young was contradicting the Bible in the verses that say that Mary conceived by the power of the Holy Ghost. What does that mean? I don't have the answer for you and frankly it doesn't matter. Jesus Christ is the Son of GOD the Father and the Savior of the World. That is all that matters.

    He says we believe we earn our way into heaven, this isn't what we believe. Grace makes up for our imperfections by the atonement so that we can be washed and made clean and thus worthy of heaven because no unclean thing can dwell in the presence of God. Our actions must align with following God's commandments as close to perfect as we can. If our actions don't matter then why would God have given us commandments?

Surely his ideas about Muslims will be accurate." Look, if you have a sincere desire to learn about someone else's faith just go talk to those people, or read their writings and books. It's not going to hurt you. In the end you might not agree with them but you will at least understand them and you might make a friend. (P.s. I am confident there are many good Hindus who are friends with Muslims. I only wanted to give an example of how weird this video is. No offense is intended toward Hindu people.)

      God’s blueprint for building His church includes using men in the office of pastor. The pastor is first an elder, and, along with the other elders, the pastor is responsible to do the following:

    I’m Mormon, but It doesn’t sound Christian for a “Christian” to bash on another person’s best effort to get back to God. He’s right, I did think I had to work my way into Heaven. Have I changed that view? Yes. I still go to the same church though.
    God will sort it all out in the end. All Jesus asked us to do is love each other. SO WHY AREN’T WE DOING THAT???!!!

      The Holy Spirit does not speak on His own authority. He takes what Christ has declared and He declares it to us. In other words, the Holy Spirit will not go against the word of God. He won't tell you that the book of Mormon is true when it clearly contradicts God's revelation to us. To believer otherwise shows complete ignorance of God.
      We don't ask for the Holy Spirit. We receive the Holy Spirit when we fully trust and believe in what Christ did for us on the cross, His works, His grace, His sacrifice, His righteousness is what saves us; not ours.
      Mormonism teaches that Christ died needlessly because they teach we are saved by obedience to law. Jesus fulfilled the law and made it obsolete.

      I thought this guy’s entire presentation, at least in this excerpt was rude, disrespectful and insulting. I was baptized Mormon when I was 8. I fell away from all religion not long after that. I’m coming back, though and trying to find where I fit. Read the Bible last year, reading the BOM now. I don’t know if I’ll be a Mormon by the end of it. I’ll read D&C next and then the Pearl of Great Price. I’ll pray about it, and we’ll see if that’s where I end up. But, regardless of the outcome, this presentation really bothered me.

    Being placed into the celestial, terrestrial telestial kingdom is not about the amount of works that you can do. It's about your willingness to be a representative and follower of God. Some people will follow good feelings only but reject Christ as the son of God. Some will accept and do as God, the Savior and the spirit but will not comply with all his commandments. We can not force our way into the celestial kingdom or any kingdom by actions alone. It's also matter of how much a person is willing to obey God, do his will and receive his grace.

    Respectfully I would disagree with this in part... I think there are many problems in the LDS church... A long list. I am a cousin of the founder. And I think I am a Christian.
    I believe that Christ is the creator not created, God almighty and the only God we have anything to do with. I don't buy into or care about the nonsense that is taught to the masses that "you too can become a God" that smacks of priestcraft ( practicing religion for power or money or both). I believe that the Bible contains the word of God and is superior to the Book of Mormon or any other scriptures. That we are saved by grace and that no amount of works we can do will get us into any heaven or kingdom even if we should work all our lives and that it is solely from the gift of Grace and the blood we are saved.
    Yet I remain where I am for the moment hoping that I can draw others closer to Christ and his goodness waiting for God to show me my path. John 13:35
    The LDS church are idol worshippers.. They worship their leaders as unable to "lead the church astray" and quote men rather than scripture at almost every conference and meeting. I know this as a recovering addict.. "Hi, I'm Randall and I am an LDS idolator".. ( I have served two missions for the LDS church)
    God moved upon me some time ago (November) powerfully, and gave me a new heart and a new spirit, and new desires. He led me through my wife to listen to an amazing sermon from Grace Bible Church in Heber Utah and into a close friendship with Tim Cowell pastor.. a renewal of my spirit and I have never been the same and we spend 4 hours every Thursday in bible study (2 hours driving) and it's my favorite 4 hours weekly with my wife.
    If you love your fellow man you have to love those who don't agree with you. You have to care about their welfare and about saving them. 80% of LDS who leave their church become atheists and that helps nobody, not you, not me, not them and especially not the Lord or the world.
    I have read your books, listened to you, and preached from the MacArthur study bible at our meetings and from the pulpit. You are a master theologian but I think I could teach you something about reaching LDS and making converts to Christ.
    LDS are so used to these ad-hominem attacks from birth that they roll off their/our backs like water off a duck, and everyone makes fun of us so your voice is just one more among the many that are ignored. (Try being in an infantry unit with a thousand men and wearing the only white strange underwear in the unit. I refused to give that up to fit in). That makes for strong convictions and if you can convert one sincere person to Christ that makes for a lasting conversion that come what may, they won't run away from what they believe no matter how hot the fires of opposition get. They become like you and stand for what is right, they keep churches open in the face of overwhelming opposition for example.
    Most LDS people are sincere in their desires to follow Christ and to do the right thing. You don't give 10-20% of your income, wear funny underwear, spend hours in church weekly and some evenings, obey a strict law of chastity, a dietary code, and strict sabbath observance along with donating 2+ years of your life, and more to what you "think" is serving God without a very strong conviction. It is who you are, your identity, and your house of faith. It is like being born a Jew, a racial heritage that embodies who you are, your family relations, your social life and everything you do... where most Christians can change churches just like they change hats as easily and quickly.
    Reaching them takes some finesse.
    You can't burn down our/their house of faith before you give us a chance to move out.. Attacking any religion is not going to bring anyone to Christ or to keep them there in your church. It is akin to locking the doors and then throwing gas on the house with a match quickly following while the people are locked inside.. In fact, nothing will shut down the mind to further conversation and throw up a roadblock faster to further success or discussion in evangelism than attacking directly anyone's house of faith.
    That doesn't mean you can't uphold truth and shed light on what is wrong while standing for Christ.
    As a man of God, you can attack any and all false doctrines, you can address the nature of God, the role of Christ/God as creator and not created, and any other false belief and have great success if you can get people to open their hearts and to really think and to engage. If people feel that you love them (and are not contemptuous) then they listen. As they/we feel that Christ loves us and that we are getting closer to Christ (learning of him in ways we never imagined before) we want to hear more and a hunger for truth develops deep inside of us starting as mere embers and then becoming a raging fire.
    The holy spirit testifies of truths that are shared by you and God draws us to him. Tim Cowell was very patient with me and with the 1,000 questions I had, he didn't push me or I would have never engaged. I never doubted he cared for me/us. His testimony of Christ brings tears to my eyes even now when I think about it.
    When this happens...
    We cast off that heart of stone and God replaces it with a heart of flesh, he gives us a new spirit and desire to do his works, he sprinkles us with water and then we are clean.. Saved by grace, redeemed by the blood, a new creature in Christ. Exekiel 36 24-29

    Incredible how much one man can lie and lead people away from the actual teachings of the church. I'd say this is at most 15% accurate and 85% lies or embellishment about Mormon belief. He obviously is afraid of people looking into it for themselves and instead declares us pagans instead of acknowledging our love for Christ and great effort to seek truth, not blindly, but through effort and faith in Christ alone. About any religion in the world, don't just listen to people who don't believe in it and their opinion, study and learn for yourself what to believe.

I would personally like to have had a recording of those discussions he had with church representatives. It is very clear that he didn't understand what he was told or was only hearing what he wanted to hear and is not willing to be forthright about what was said.

    Just an FYI, virtually everything he said was wrong. One doesn't have to agree with Mormonism to recognize that this is one mistruth after another. From big doctrinal issues like grace is only used in the lowest "kingdom" - not even close to being LDS doctrine, to Bob Millet "writes all of their stuff on theology"... also not even close to true. Remember this folks, even though you may wholeheartedly disagree with Mormonism, propagating lies, mistruths, and distortions only promotes more division and undermines your reputation. You don't get a moral pass just because you're a christian to lie for the greater good about Mormons. Lying is lying.

    As a Latter-day Saint (Mormons don't exist), this MacArther is blatantly lying and giving misinterpretations of Saint's beliefs. The Church of Christ, soon after renamed: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, has never wavered, "closed any gaps," we have, from day one, testified that Jesus is the Christ, that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ visited a young man in New York and called him to be a prophet and restore their church, which he did. We have always testified that Jesus Christ is the literal Son of God, our Savior and Redeemer. Latter-day Saints know there is only 1 Jesus Christ, who atoned for our sins and died on a cross for us, and was resurrected to a physical body that his apostles and disciples felt his nail prints, and returned with his physical body to his Father in Heaven. There is no other Jesus Christ. MacArthur lied that Saints all become gods, this is not our doctrine, we've never taught it, we believe what Jesus said: "ye are gods?" Jesus described theirs, and our potential, not that they were gods, as he and his father are. The apostle James clearly wrote that faith without works is dead and Paul wrote that grace commeth after our faith. None of us can save ourselves, only the Savior can save us, through his grace. Not a single Catholic or Protestant leader, or member of any kind, has ever testified of seeing Jesus Christ, or spoken to Him in any way. The rapid decline of non-Latter-day Saint Christianity is making most Christianity extinct, without any help from us. We need to love and serve one another, the kind of bigotry, hate and lies MacArthur shares do nobody any good.

My advice is to come and see for yourself. Do the doctrine and you will know for yourself. No argument is ever stronger than the testimony born of the Holy Ghost. Learn for yourself. Then ask Heavenly Father for direction and understanding. Does anything else ever matter more than what He tells you?

    Explanation of LDS Baptisms for the dead.
    Jesus Christ taught that baptism is essential to the salvation of all who have lived on earth (see John 3:5). Many people, however, have died without being baptized. Others were baptized without proper authority. Because God is merciful, He has prepared a way for all people to receive the blessings of baptism. By performing proxy baptisms in behalf of those who have died, Church members offer these blessings to deceased ancestors. Individuals can then choose to accept or reject what has been done in their behalf.
    Jesus Christ said, “Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God” (John 3:5). Even Jesus Christ Himself was baptized (see Matthew 3:13-17).
    Many people have lived on the earth who never heard of the gospel of Jesus Christ and who were not baptized. Others lived without fully understanding the importance of the ordinance of baptism. Still others were baptized, but without proper authority.
    Because He is a loving God, the Lord does not damn those people who, through no fault of their own, never had the opportunity for baptism. He has therefore authorized baptisms to be performed by proxy for them.
    A living person, often a descendant who has become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is baptized in behalf of a deceased person. This work is done by Church members in temples throughout the world.
    Some people have misunderstood that when baptisms for the dead are performed, deceased persons are baptized into the Church against their will. This is not the case. Each individual has agency, or the right to choose. The validity of a baptism for the dead depends on the deceased person accepting it and choosing to accept and follow the Savior while residing in the spirit world. The names of deceased persons are not added to the membership records of the Church.
    The New Testament indicates that baptisms for the dead were done during the time of the Apostle Paul (see 1 Corinthians 15:29). This ordinance was restored with the establishment of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
    If baptisms for the dead is commanded to be done in the bible, then why do Christians of many faiths today deny the work for their Ancestors?

      I believe the Jesus Christ of the Bible, which is definitely a different Jesus Christ than what you believe. Jesus Christ said that he and God are two separate men. "Is it not written in your Law that the testimony of two men is true? I am one who witnesses of myself, and my Father who sent me, he witnesses of me." This alone destroys the Trinitarian Jesus Christ of the traditions of man. But there's more. God called men gods, not wicked men acting as false gods, but those who had received his word, and he called them Children Of God. And Jesus Christ affirmed this when he said "If he called them gods unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?" We are told that it is impossible for God to lie, we are told repeatedly that there is only one God, so when God calls his righteous followers gods(plural), even if they weren't gods before, God spoke it into existence. So how can there only be one God and have men who have become gods, and not have one or the other be false? Just as Man can be plural in reference to mankind, so God is plural, encompassing many gods of multiple generations all working as a single entity. "That they may be one, as we are." "That they also may be one in us." For we are told in both the Old and New Testaments that we will inherit all things. That includes the ability to make worlds and put plants, animals and people on them. And God doesn't do anything in vain, if he gives someone something, then he expects them to use it. I will go with the Jesus Christ of the Bible, and not the Trinity created by wicked men.

Or will you believe that men made mistakes or intentionally misled people? The word Trinity appears nowhere in any translation of a Bible except footnotes. But Godhead is in the text. Search the scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life, and they testify of the true nature of the Godhead. "Duorum Hominum"(where we get hominid and human) is the Latin Catholic text of John 8: 17. Don't hate God because he blinded men from removing all his truth. The Bible is my friend. But the Bible is far from my only friend, for I have friends that clearly you don't know. One stands at the door knocking, waiting for you to open, so He can introduce you to His Father also.

Simply put it teaches that within the unity of the one Diety (one God)there are three separate Persons (not 3 Gods as in Mormonism) who are coequal in power, nature, and eternity. Yes one God, three persons, yet only one of those persons took on human form. Yet Jesus says that he and his Father are two separate men in John 8: 17-18, which by itself destroys the Trinity. But the Trinity disproves itself with conflicting statements, whether the 325 A.D. version or the 381 A.D. version or the 451 A.D. version. For all three say that Jesus Christ was not made, and then they say that Jesus Christ was made a man. In the Athanasian Creed it says that God is unchanging, yet the Nicean Creed says he became man or incarnate or was made man, depending on the translation into english. And it says that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully Man, but the Father is only fully God, and therefore superior. However this God, who according to the Old Testament" cannot lie." and according to the New Testament "it is impossible for him to lie.", called men, not just any men, righteous men who had received his word, he called them gods, making them gods in truth, even if they weren't before, speaking it into existence, for he cannot lie. So the insistence that God the Father and God Yahweh his Son, have to be the same being gets thrown out the window. But the Bible already gives us an example of how both statements, one God and men made into gods, can be true. "Therefore shall a man leave mother and father and cleave unto his wife, and they shall be one flesh." They don't merge into one body upon marriage nor does one or both being barren mean that they don't become one flesh. Just like in John 17, when we become one as Jesus and God are one, when we become one with them, we don't become part of them, but each keeps their own resurrected body, just like Jesus Christ did, and like God did before him, "Everything I see my Father do, that I do also." "Being in the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person." "Who being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God." How could Jesus Christ obtain a more excellent name by inheritance, if he was already the Most High God before he was made flesh? Everything about the Trinity is an abomination to the word of God(The Bible). For it is abundantly clear that God is plural for Godkind, many gods of multiple generations, yet all the one true God. We will inherit all things, all powers, all principalities and all the works of God. And God doesn't give us his power to create worlds and populate them in vain. Like fathers everywhere, God expects us to join him in the family business, to carry on his work.

    John MacArthur: I believe the Apostle Paul may have been the first Mormon! 1.     4. He believed in temple worship. In many ancient cultures, people used the term heaven to describe three different “realms”-the sky, outer space, and then a spiritual heaven. Paul was saying that God took him to the “spiritual” heaven-the realm beyond the physical universe where God dwells. The concept of different levels of heaven may have come in part from Dante’s The Divine Comedy in which the poet describes both heaven and hell as having nine different levels. The Divine Comedy, however, is a fictional work. The idea of different levels of heaven is foreign to Scripture.
      2. Paul never said to baptize for the dead. Even pagans believe in a resurrection.
      The whole chapter is about the surety of the resurrection.
      1 Corinthians 15:29: “Otherwise, what will THEY do, those being baptized on behalf of the dead? If the dead are not at all raised, why indeed are THEY baptized on behalf of the dead?” We do know by comparing it with the rest of Scripture that it does not mean that a dead person can be saved by someone else being baptized on his or her behalf, because baptism is not a requirement for salvation in the first place (Ephesians 2:8; Romans 3:28; 4:3; 6:3-4).       By the way, there is a lot in Mormon literature about Mormons getting their own planets, although the church is backing off because of how foolish it sounds, but then, Joe wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer when he was inventing his own religion.     I have a lot of respect for John MacArthur for not closing his church during the COVID lockdowns. But ironically his attack on Latter-day Saints here for not being Christians does not seem Christlike. Folks from BYU compliment MacArthur by having their students read his book, and he treats that with contempt. I found that reaction puzzling. If He were here, I don’t see Jesus responding to Mormons like this. I’m reminded of when the disciples came and complained that they had found people casting out devils in Jesus’ name. He told them forbid them not. (Luke 9:49-50) Likewise, I think of the Savior’s interactions with Samaritans, who did have some false beliefs. He didn’t condone the false beliefs, but reached out in love.

    My Bible tells me in Revelations there is neither male nor female in Heaven. We are given new bodies, celestial bodies. Of course there is no sex in Heaven, no marriage. Huge problem solved! Thank you Father!

      Jesus did not stop being a man after the resurrection, we will have a body like his, maybe our sex drive will not exist in heaven, but we will still be male and female, even some of the Angels (Angels are all males) are were capable of falling from heaven and mating with women in Genesis chapter 6,
      I don't think there is Biblical evidence to support your statements. Marriage in heaven is Christ and the church, not men and women, you are right on this though.

      A) The line "given in marriage" implies He is referring to arranged institutionalized marriages, not marriage from love.

      @@Moose46316 I’ll answer that as a Christian. No. We are taught not to trifle with things that are actually sacred. A book is not sacred just because someone believes it is. A religious practice is not sacred just because someone believes it to be. Elijah mocked the false prophets of Baal when they failed to summon their gods. We don’t ridicule for ridicule’s sake, but we might do it if it helps someone to see the absurdity of their position and turn them toward the true God. Mocking correctly is difficult and may not be appropriate most of the time, but sometimes it is.

    Alot of what you guys are saying is so not true! Why don't you go about teaching the good word instead if spending all this time running down our religion which only goes about trying to make people better snd closer to Christ. Also we are not Mormons. We belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and I am indeed a Christian. I know and love my Heavenly Fathey and my Saviour and you or nobody can tell me otherwise! We also believe the Bible to be true as far as it is translated correctly.

    The arrogance of supposed intellect that is sanctimoniously delivered in this 6 minute session is erroneous and misleading. I've been an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints my entire life and most of what he answered is twisted rhetoric, misconstrued dialogue, and a frankly disrespectful and poor delivery of teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ as found in our articles of faith. How misleading and irreverent are his attempts to dissuade and muddy the actual things we believe. Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior and there can be no other. There is one faith one lord one baptism.

    I think if Jesus were here, he’d have to tell the parable of the “Good Mormon” as many Christians seem to think as poorly of us as the Pharisees thought of the Samaritans. Which was neighbor? I think Jesus Christ will look at those issues more than who had the better interpretation of scripture.

      Good example. As long as you seek God’s mercy through Jesus Christ you will be saved. Then you simply take that mercy you were shown & show it to others. This is how the justified live. Knowing they are justified by the grace of God, they freely love others. This is how to be genuine & not a hypocrite.

      Jesus also said: in the last days many false prophets will go out and decieve many by teaching doctrines made by DEMONS. He also said that the Bible is complete and anyone who adds or takes away from it will be cursed. We are not persecuting Jesus, we are persecuting the devil! Your eyes are blind and you refuse to see the truth! You reject sound doctrine for what someone created 200 years ago. Why don't Mormons pass out bibles? Instead they pass out the book of mormon

    We don’t preach another Jesus. Common fallacy. The Book of Mormon talks about the same resurrected Jesus. The same Jesus appeared to Joseph Smith. I guess it is really a thing where if you disagree we become demon worshipers. Odd how it gets that evil that quickly. Fruits!! Look at the fruits my friends. Or find what you are looking for with your bias.

      It is simple, not confusing! Why do they leave the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? because they do not believe the doctrine, are not willing to live by the teachings, do not know the teaching, or perhaps they are offended by someone, there are millions of reasons why people leave a religion! But do they have to degrade or put down something that they themselves are not willing to be a part of? Jesus Christ established his Gospel with 12 Apostles and Prophets. His established organization, called in his name, with his ordinances and covenants! We have the choice to live His Gospel, keep his ordinances and Covenants, and follow the Apostles and Prophets. If we choose not to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ we void the Blessing of the ordinances and covenants, we do not follow the counsel of the Prophets and Apostles! What are the results of choosing not to? What are the results of choosing to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Choices can and will condemn us or Choices can bless us for eternity! If you look up in the dictionary the term EX means to remove or separate from! With that term, they are removed or separated from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! Not willing to live by their teachings! Why are they not willing to? Choose Wisely!

Later in their church services they will teach the Christian church is apostate, the Bible has been corrupted (without proof like the Muslims) and pull out the book of Mormon.

    As a Member of The Church of JESUS Christ of Latter day Saints, slang (Mormon). Not a single concept was explained correctly out of this man's mouth. Litterally not one. If you wpuld like to know what we believe I will deffer you to the Articles of Faith. 1-13 A quick google search should pop up.
