      I see where you get some of your sense of adventure! Your Mom is precious and has ZERO problems hopping in the water and going to the bottom. You are very blessed to have your Mom as a partner in crime 😉 The Mammoth teeth really blew my mind! I would feel so amazing holding something that old and well preserved. I just Subscribed and have been going through many of your videos from the last year and I’m LOVING IT! I have a question for you. What is your background in? Possibly biology or something related? You know a lot about the fossils you find… that could also mean you are just really intelligent and genuinely look hard into the things you are interested in! I wish you luck in every dive you do and hope you find some fossils that absolutely BLOW YOUR MIND! 🤯 I pray that you and your loved ones are staying happy and healthy! 😁

    • @iHUNTdeadThings
      @iHUNTdeadThings  2 года назад +1

      I have an early video where I cleaned one... but showed just a couple clips. These 4 probably took 20 hours of cleaning, and then we used sculpting epoxy to put the halves back together. These specimens didn't need any additional preservation with the exception of the jaw bone surrounding one of the uppers. I may end up hardening that bone as it's definitely less sound than the teeth sections.

    His mom is So COOL!!!! As the mother of 2 teenage sons, I would die happy if one of my boys would take me fossil hunting!! I live smack in the middle of the Late Cretaceous shallow ocean area, in Lawrence, Kansas!!
    A quick background story: I am a lifelong CRAZY REPTILE JUNKIE & a FOSSIL JUNKIE with a degree from KU of Biology & Entomology. Unfortunately, both of my boys have grown up HATING all said things-(well, indifferent is the better description.).
    I have a house full of SNAPPING TURTLES & reptiles & have been obsessed with getting pet caiman since I was little.
    My point: I can never go reptile herping or rock hunting around here because they REFUSE to go with me & I have no one to go with. I can’t go alone (I HAVE gone alone & almost landed myself my own personal episode of Forensic Files!!!! aka abducted!!) EVERYONE HONKS & YELLS as they drive by folks fossil hunting around here!! When I finally got my girlfriend to go with me, she lasted about 40 minutes before she went & waited for me in the car. …..well, & she was probably right that we would have been seriously kidnapped,or that something nefarious would happen!! I haven’t been hunting since then, & to this day no one will go!! (Since I was little, everyday I want to ‘look for rocks’ - & it is still something I think about daily as we drive by the rocky outcrops that line the roads!)……so close ! But I do feel better watching this.
