i wish i had this when i started making music, this is so well explained when I started i learned everything in the messiest order because i got excited with so many stuff i could do
My first song...and every song I've made so far has been started with a chord progression where I build the crescendo or most energetic section first...and then I work my way out to the beginning and end.
Another great video... thanks! I have to say, however, that I always start with lyrics. I guess it's because I started out as a poet and then moved to songwriting when I learnt guitar. I still really, really struggle, though, with writing a melody. I'd give my eyeteeth to find an Elton John to my Bernie Taupin!
You're welcome! It's always best to play to your strengths with songwriting. I think the nature of the craft means everyone has a weak point and this is why writing partnerships are so common.
