Great idea but solvent inks don’t work as well. When you dtf hack anything, the powder has to go on quickly. When you cure, heat your platens before laying on the film, it cures faster. Always use parchment paper over your film while pressing to prevent burns, then repress after peel. Great video, have fun!
@@MicMainesublimation is the best when hacking. As a reminder sublimation inks are different from solvents as what’s in this video. Epson printers make it the easiest/cheapest for us to do sublimation, but you do have to buy sub ink to add to the printer. I hope that this helps! 😊
@LivNByFaithDesigns thanks for responding! Yes, that does help, I recently got an Epson ET-3830 and filled it with Sublimation ink. Was wondering if I would have to eventually get another one to try these DTF hacks, like ET-8550 that seems popular, but I see there's issues with the white ink still clogging
I cure the powder using a Vevor hand held press because of the size but a Cricut hand held will also work. Turn the press on at 320° and sit it back on the base BUT with the hot side up. You can see the powder melt and know you got it all in less than 1 minute.
Hi sis just a heads up. Thank you for sharing your wisdom to your audience, but please be careful when using thee powders without protection. Respiratory. I have seen people who have claim it can be cancerous. But great info.
I wouldn’t a iron is not a full plate heat source meaning the center of the iron will be the hottest while the edge will not and there’s no way to know the actually temp
Sublimation will not work on the shirts in this video. Those are cotton and sublimation is polyester unless you use a work-around which is a lot more work and trial and error than it’s worth

So with the HP ink jet their is no conversion to do like the Epson? Rollers, dtf ink, ect? And how big of a difference is the quality from the Epson compared to the inkjet in your opinion. It's definitely easier I see
It’s easier there is no conversion and a lot of folks don’t have sublimation converted printers but a lot of folks do have inkjet printers just sitting around ☺️
This was my problem. I tested a shirt, wore it outside and it rained. I realized I had blue on my hands then When I checked, my ink ran. I wonder if there’s a hack to seal it. I tried acrylic spray but that just leaves a mess
I watched someone spray peroxide on the scorch marks after printing the t-shirt to neutralize it, but didn’t see the finished product. Have you heard of this and if so do you know if it works? Thank you
No I haven’t used peroxide so I can’t tell you if it works or not but for small scorch marks I use a tide pen and it’s works perfectly! The shirt was severely scorched so I wouldn’t have tried to salvage it anyway, hence why I didn’t waste it and pressed the back instead lol and chalked up to lesson learned. Thanks for watching ☺️

The 2720 is inkjet so if you converted you good. You will probably need to do a print head cleaning and it can take up to 20 sheets for it to clean and no I’ve never had pizza wheels 🙃 Thanks for watching 😊

Thank you so much for posting this ink jet hack! I used it for printing on red pot holders from the Dollar Tree, and they look great. I think this hack is best for non-clothing objects that do not require washing like light-colored tote bags, maybe keychains, etc.
Whats left out is you should use dtf inks and make sure you have a piezo print head wich most ink jets do use and make sure you use dtf transfer sheets and then when heating make sure you use the right temp for the right amount of time or it won't stick also with regular ink jet printers you would have to clean the print heads before changing to dtf ink along with getting empty cartridges to put your ink in hope this helps
With the DTF sublimation hack using some Epson ET printers, many ppl have problems with pizza or roller marks using film. I have problems with my new Epson 8850 leaving roller marks. I did not have that issue with my Epson 2720 before it died.
