Haha it’s the Christmas preparations for me.. you will think everywhere will be lit like cray cray 🔥.. expecting loud music, fireworks, people on the streets with their Christmas clothes etc but it’s actually the opposite. Just everyone in their house’s eating turkey dinner 🤦🏻♀️ ordinary car you won’t see on the road, then our Nigerian friends we could have hung out with are all at work, hustling bank holiday rate🤦🏻♀️ my first Christmas here na indomie I chop, second one was left over food… Omoh Christmas in Nigeria is underrated especially Christmas like 10 years ago.
My own cultural shock is when I’m strolling with my newborn and one old woman or man walks up to you and starts asking abt your baby and stuff and starts telling you abt their own newly born grandchild too, you really have to wait to hear them out because the Nigerian in me won’t want to walk away from an elderly 😂😂
That thing about Christmas being so dry is absolutely true . You will be scared thinking everyone has run away and you are the only one left in the area. Plus the big fake smile is also very shocking 😳
A Canadian RUclipsr base in Nigeria said in Nigeria they don't have much but they are happy. That Canada should learn from us. And that Nigerian are very appreciative
After calling you darling and love the following day they will behave as if they have never seen you before, In fact them go waka pass you like you never met
My cultural shock is that, they don't acknowledge greetings, if you say well done, they act as though no one is around them. The Isolation part is dreadful, every one minds their business, you might be living in a property but might never get to know or even see your neighbour for months.
Melissa always making me smile. I was always feeling left handed, looking left n right crossing UK roads when I visited LoL. I absolutely loved staying in your Huddersfield even if I visited lots of cities but I loved the noise and crowd of Manchester on weekends. Oyinbo too can cut eye n do extended handshake even with my bold wedding band LoL
You could meet a total stranger and they’ll tell ya really personal conversation about their lives 😅…. Also on the bus/train they have loud conversations, u could literally overhear people’s conversations metres away .🤦🏽♂️
🤣😂🤣🤣this is funny! About the tea part was shocked you guys are!!!! Have you been to Kenya?? Anytime is tea time " Chai"....especially in Luhyah and Kalenjin communities😉
I had a good laugh for real… the plastic smile I can relate well😅, 2nd) I got missing several times with buses . Entered wrong buses , stopped at wrong bus stop , I struggled so much with goggle map then 3) understanding their currency especially using of coins 10p, 50p, 1p . I tire 😅😂😂😂
It’s so lovely to see Huddersfield again 🥹. I was there from 2014-2017 for my undergrad and had a great time there. I was watching and saw one of the buildings and it immediately brought back memories ❤.
About that bus stop confusion I still have it oo. Especially when I’m in a new city and I don’t know the direction to where I’m going. I’ll just stay in the stop and be looking in opposite for it now I’ll download “move it”. Thanks for the tip
My first shock was the café, I was expecting a computer centre inside English café 😅😅😅.they have no business centre you have to use the library for anything like Printing and photocopy. Yes i concur with the xmas day it was my greatest shock.
Aww nice table is lovely is a must have my dear jos is cold city for our country nijja and my dear the weather is something else where are my igbo people my dear that fake smile 😃 nice one I enjoy this 😂
Cultural shock is about the roads. So small. And also you hardly see cars like bugatti, ferrari and Lamborgini despite their currency has more value than the USA and other rich countries.
British people are modest they don’t like to be showy with their money when they are upper and middle class it’s mainly people who are poorer or working class who aspire to be rich that buy and rent expensive cars to feel wealthy in uk.
Advertising right after the intro of your video isn’t nice at all. It would be better if the ads were in the middle of the video, that way it will be more captivating. Just a suggestion…
well, brands always request you advertise their products within the first 5 mins. From my dashboard, people bought the desk, I always believe that whoever needs such products would watch. If you advertise in the middle of the video, it would still be skipped by people who don’t need the products.
I enjoy entering train. I never got confused even for a day cos google has become my friend. My challenges will be the weather and fast paced environment.
Nice watching your video, it was fun. I want to make a comment, you said you delivered your twins through a natural birth. Both C- section and vagina delivery are natural birth.
Here’s the meaning of natural birth on wikipedia “Natural childbirth is childbirth without routine medical interventions, particularly anesthesia. Natural childbirth arose in opposition to the techno-medical model of childbirth that has recently gained popularity in industrialized societies. Natural childbirth attempts to minimize medical intervention, particularly the use of anesthetic medications and surgical interventions such as episiotomies, forceps and ventouse deliveries and caesarean sections”. I don’t understand why you people get triggered when someone says she had a natural birth, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with having a C-section, it’s high time you all stopped making it look like it’s a big deal. Most important thing is to have mother and baby alive. Stop getting triggered when someone says she had a natural birth pls. T for Thanks. ❤️🙏
Melissa , you are great ooo. I am just happy again oooo. Listening to you makes me feel better and I learn a lot from you. Thanks so much and God Almighty continuously bless you , in Jesus Mighty name amen.
