When a bow makes Armin smile that much, that's how you know it's a good bow.
A perfect illustration of an Archer falling in love with the bow at first draw! A love story to follow!
I had the privilege of shooting this bow today. I had exactly the same feelings as Armin. It is a stunning bow. The whole experience of shooting it was so good. 7 hours later and I haven't stopped thinking about it.
Such a beautiful bow and I’ve never seen you at a loss for words. That alone speak volumes. Great video and happy new year everyone. See you next year
8:15 He looks like he’s about to cry tears of joy
Yes, he was so deeply touched by beauty, elegance and efficiency of that bow ....I was also expecting tears.....
Great emotional review ......
Finally decided to get a new bow and it was this one :). Just wanted to let you know Armin that your reviews really carry a lot of weight! Coming from a fiber glass bow to this beauty. I can't wait to compare the differences.
enjoy shooting
I've been rewatching this video over the past year and finally ordered when Alibow offered a Black Friday discount ($30 USD off). You make great content and are the reason why I purchased Alibow's fiberglass Tatar and Qinghai and now the Kheshig.
thank you
Same happened to me, been watching this video over and over, finally this morning the Kheshig arrived :) Pity i am sick and cannot try it out :(
Took delivery of my Keshig today and just finished shooting it. I utterly concur with every sentiment you have expressed in this review Armin. What a delight it is to shoot , three finger or thumb style. Got it in cinnabar red, gorgeous, Cheers Armin . Keep em coming mate. loving your work
great, happy when you are
Shane Cumming how long did you get your Keshig, from payment all the way to received it?

I have learned a ton from watching your videos, Armin. Thank you for taking the time to educate all of us on youtube :)
My Kheshig finally arrived, and it is amazing! Only when you try it, you understand 😁
Going from it back to my fiberglass bow I could not believe the difference. No hand shock, no vibration, better precision, lighter in the hand. Just incredible. Thank you Armin for the review and for showing me this bow existed. I'm not even mad about the customs any more 😄
I can't stop watching this review. I almost know it by heart now 😄
Can't wait for mine to arrive.
you will love the bow :D
Whst I like about your channel Armin is your passion for archery. When you constantly smile and laugh while you're shooting, that tells me that the bow is worthwhile. Keep the passion. Archery is the sport of the gods. Whichever you believe in. I would feel comfortable buying any bow solely on your sayso. Thank you for helping me to continue enjoying archery.
Such elegance it portrays at full draw , very beautiful. Poetic review master :-).
I bought this bow and it finally arrived. I am super impressed with it. This is my fifth bow from Alibow. He always surpasses my expectations. His arrows are absolutely beautiful.
Waiting for mine to arrive
Ron Cearley
You bought it from where?
Mohammed Al-Ghamdi alibow
i dunno which bows you have but can you please tell me whatts your favourite?i m trying to make a decision between ming emperor and kheshig
Thank you for reviewing this bow. I was going to spend the money on a shotgun, but upon seeing this video and your happiness & loss for words , I went to the alibow site & ordered one. Well, it's been about 5 weeks & it has arrived & I couldn't be more pleased! This is an Awesome bow, its so light but so strong. The only thing is, I think that I may save up the funds to order another one in the future in the cinnabarr red. Thanks again!

Armin, thank you for all your reviews, they are so helpful and quite detailed. I bought a few bows you reviewed and I'm quite happy with them. Thank you very much!! Happy 2019!!
I love this bow. I am so pleased to have received it from Alibow. Thanks for all the reviews.
Armin, I just started watching you Channel two days ago. After seeing this wonderful bow at full draw and your reactions after shooting it, I had to order one the same day. Say hi to Ron Dumontier, a fellow Montanan. Thank you for all your great work.
Alibow have sorted out the delivery and I've just paid tax, arriving tomorrow. Many thanks for sorting this out alibow!
Your facial expressions after the first shots = priceless! 🎯
Amazing bow and amazing video!
It is so special to see you with no words during a test.
I wish you a happy new year, with new challenges and happiness for you, your family and students.
Thank you so much for your videos, advises and the passion you can give to us : a great teacher with child eyes when you discover a new bow/toys.
Awesome!! Finally, was waiting for this review.
Thank you!
Ordered mine few weeks ago.
I love the twang it makes.
Wow Armin, Went out to my range, Found the Brace at 6.5 inches, Changed to 7.5 inches, Moved top limb up further on my leg and closer to my mid back to string the bow, made it very easy. I shot 24 arrows of 350 grain, tilted bow about 20 degrees, and watched my follow thru. Wow ! Right on target, My shot groups were great and I was even skinning arrows. Great Bow, Love it. Thanks again, your articles are the best of the net.
Your speechlessness says everything. Magnificent! I just could not resist. Ordered one yesterday, #40, color all clear (they said black is not so good in connection to sun/heat/ laminated).
Wonderful review as always. Great thanks to my Digital Teacher 😊🙏👇👍
Thanks to instinctive archery I even got motivated to do things I normally wouldn't do: reading history about Huns, Scythians, Mongols... Not going out on in Friday, just shoot some arrows (+-400). To even consider giving money for the first time on internet to someone I don't know. And even improving my English 😄 and so on... Archery is great!
Thanks again and a lot!!!
Greetings from Belgium.
(p.s. reading now about that patreon/patron platform)😉
you will not regret :D have fun
Just ordered a 35# Kheshig, watched this video again to remind me how much you loved it when you first tried it :D Thanks Armin!
Just wanted to let you know thank you for all your videos, if I haven’t stumbled upon your videos, I think I would have lost interest in archery I recently had surgery on my wrist and after I cannot draw without twisting badly, after seeing how you shoot with the thumb blew my mind and now I have found the love for archery again re learning everything! Thanks for all the videos and reviews!
Thanks for all your efforts this year.
Great videos. Thanks for your expertise.
Thank you my friend.
@@ArminHirmer We recently have met a Mongolian music group and have been interested in their bow works for some time. I see a trip to Mongolia in our near future! (and a trip to Malta also!)
OMG..
I think this could be it (if L.H.) I go into the wilds of Montana and get into rough places. This strong bow will suit me perfectly.
I love it. And I really love the technical, seamstress tape, attn to smooth rounded tips(for my horse safety and how well U seem to like it. My draw is 29" standing and 26/27 on horseback.
Great review,,, again
You know, I play this video Every Day, without fail. I Like your Review on this Bow Armin. Alibow . . . what a super Bow. Everyone have a great weekend. Later Later,
Wow, your love for this bow is kicking me in the "buy this now" rib
Great 2018. Hope 2019 can hold this pace. Thank you for your love of this great sport. Maybe someone from USA will send U an American Western Plains Native American bow. I am Blackfeet Native is why I wish for this in 2019.
I've finally had a chance to shoot the Kheshig at the club at 20m. It's stunning to shoot, the draw is really really nice. I draw 33" thumb drawn so it's perfect size for me & the shape of the grip makes sideways twist Khatra effortless. Only snag is it punches my 535gn bamboos about 2-3 inches through a new straw target at that range & they're a nightmare to pull. It's definitely the nicest bow I've ever shot, and shooting rounds for the evening was easy as there just isn't any hand shock at all compared to the AF long Han bow or Alibow's Genghis bow. Your review was absolutely spot on 😁
Still the pretiest bow I've seen so far. Both strung and unstrung. And almost a year and a half of using it, still a joy to shoot.
I've hunted and shot archery tournaments since the early 90's. Fell out of it shortly after a friend of mine, hunting partner committed suicide . Have a Browning Stalker LH compound bow. Been watching your videos for a while, subscribed today. Wanting to get into traditional. Probably going to pick this bow up, start flinging some arrows and do some deer hunting in fall. Thank you for your videos. Theyve been very helpful. You got a new subscriber. Please keep the content coming.
Let us know how it goes. You might have lost your partner, but there's a good community here brother. Good hunting
Wow! I now know what my next bow is going to be. A beauty to look at when strung and at full draw.
Got it. Get both the Qinghai and Kheshig. I know what I'm getting for my birthday then.
very quiet bow. thx for the analysis of this "best" bow. your enthusiasm is one of the best parts of the video. too cool. every time I watch one of your videos I feel like I have learned something new. great content. I remember in a previous video you talked about the relationship between the bow and the string being optimum at 60 degrees. if was 90 degrees not so good. at full draw, 33 inches, it does go to 90 degrees. looks perfect though!!! I see why you really like this wider limb bow. I am just trying to catch up on your videos. keep 'em coming. subscriber.
Just started watching your reviews a couple days ago and I think I’ve already watched over twenty reviews. I enjoy learning new ways of shooting as looking at these beautiful bows. Have a happy new year.
. . . it strongly reminds of my (Mariner) Yuan-Kublai which also I simply love to shoot is a permanent keeper . . . the Mongol “issue” bows are marvel of bow design ! ! !
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
never shot the Kublai, still on my wish list :D
The f-value, as far as I understand, is a predictor of how much a bow tends to stack. A low f-value is desirable for multiple reasons. First, the bow will feel smoother at full draw. Second, the draw force curve will be flatter near full draw, which allows the bow to store more energy at a given draw weight and deliver arrows of a certain gpp at a higher speed.
I think this will be my next bow! Thank you for another amazing, thorough review, and your thoughts of this bow at the end of your video. Cheers!
9:43 the music is really spot on:
"Last Christmas, I gave you my heart..." 😂
... but which bow is the special one this year, Armin? 🤔😁
Buetiful, I'll take a look. It reminds me of the American Flatbow
Going to trade in my 2001 Yamaha sg500b guitar for one of these, upgrading from my starter toparchery horse bow. I also watched the video about thumb draw with the index finger on the same side of the thumb and wow, I can hit stuff now. Many thanks for all the videos, information and mindfullness. Helped me a lot to see archery as meditation and an antidote to mad Britain.
Lovely bow. Wishing you and your family a very happy new year😊
I'm in love now. Buying it for sure
Wow, that one is beautiful too. But, the first one is more my style. Frack.. now I gotta save more money.
I absolutely love your videos Armin! I’ve learned a lot about traditional archery from watching your videos, and I’m definitely buying a traditional style bow (I’ve shot my compound bow for almost a decade). I’m curious, you seem to really enjoy this bow; would you recommend this to a first time buyer?
Can I ask how much grain per pound would be ideal for this bow?
Nice review by the way keep it up! :)
Just ordered a Kheshig after this review. Thanks Armin. I had the bow customised with some meaningful chinese words on linmb belly and my family seal. This going to be a special one.
wow nice, I want to se photos then :D
@@ArminHirmer I'll send them through once it arrived.
@@ronnieyap7154 If you don't mind me asking, how much more was it to get words added to the bow's belly?

Another excellent review and a beautiful bow. This one is definitely on the list.
What a spectacular bow to finish the year's reviews with. Clearly a beast, and now I am taking a long hard look at perhaps getting my grubby little paws on one sometime in 2019 :) Thanks as always.
I'm still wondering about that 60 degree angle. It doesn't seem to matter on the Kheshig. You mentioned once in the comments that you will be getting one for yourself soon. If you do, maybe make a revisit review on it. 😁
Great review as always good sir. Thank you for your dedication. Have a great new year 2019 !
Thanks a lot. Great video! Fantastic bow ! We have learned a lot watching your videos. Excuse my english. Im learning to speak.
Thank you.
Happy New Year Sir....!! Thanks for all the great videos.
Nice Review! It is seen that enjoys it every time he explains every detail of Bow. See these reviews help thanks.
“Most importantly first, nice curves”. Say that to a girl and get slapped or maybe lucky.
Lucky, of course.
Slapped is if you are forced, rude, and wrong/too soon.

I received mine yesterday, thanks to your review, Armin. Very happy with it. Could you tell me which brace height is best for this bow? I think I have it shooting optimally at 8", but wanted your insight. Thank you.
It's really great to see so many trad bow reviews, your channel provides plenty bow porn to me! Thanks for the great work, and happy new year Armin!
Besides, I noticed that both Qinghai and Kheshig from Alibow used synthetic foam at the tip, which seems to be an intention of reducing weight. However, I also read an article by a Chinese bowyer "长风弓造"(Long Wind Bows), he measured and pointed out that foam is actually denser than maple wood or bamboo which are used as limb core materials, but foam recovers much better from bending, and therefore he drew the conclusion that foam is better than wood to be used at the working parts rather than the static parts. At last he built 2 Turkish bows of the same draw weight, one with full foam core, the other wood, as a result, the foam one produced higher arrow speed. So what do you think of it...
sounds logic kind of. I would like to shoot a full foam one :D
That certainly gave you a good workout, Armin! I've enjoyed your reviews very much but I've never heard you say "holy crap" so many times 🤣, so you may have persuaded me to include an asiatic bow in my collection. Is there another way of stringing a bow like this though? I can't do the step through method. Happy New Year!
thank you, yes there are more ways to string the bow. i did a video a long while ago
What does "draw curve...huuwah" mean? ;-)
You ever see a sexy woman walk in the room? Huuwah...
Get one & you'll find out 😉😁
Kheshig was the name of the Mongol Royal Bodyguards.
keshik
it also came to persian language meaning gaurd
@@mortezamohammadi505 It is "Heshig" in modern Mongolian. There is a place called "Heshigten" in Inner Mongolia and the locals are said to be the descendant from the Mongol royal guards.
Thank you for that great review. :) The "3K Carbon Bamboo Yuan bow" from AF Archery could be interesting too... (or any product from "AF special series").
Thank you for your review Armin. I know comparing between one bow to another can be subjective and sensitive.. but if I may ask you, which one do you prefer, this Kheshig Mongolian Bow or Szimeiszter Turkish Bow? And why? Thanx before master..
both amazing, I would make it depend on budget. szimeiszter is cheaper. you should have both :D
I bought one at 50# is hard to string without the siyah string bridges..just need to be very careful..but amazing accurate and smooth draw..past 28" a breeze
watch them over and over
At one of your other videos I asked about the brace hight being a bit different in the upper and lower limb. I've contacted Alibow about this, and they say the bow is designed that way. Just thought I'd put this here if anyone had that same question.
On another note, lately you've been mentioning that 60 degree angle a lot in your videos, and I noticed the Kheshig has an almost 90 degree angle at 33 inches. Can't say it impacts it's performance, but I do feel better shooting it at 31 or 32 inches anyway. All said and done, I still love it. What a bow 😁
Very interesting bow. Non contact siyahs seemed to give very good efficiency.
I think alibow may have changed some specs. 33" draw to #40. 31" draw 45+#. Plus apparently available in all black 😀
Yes. I wrote that in the description. And of course all black us possible. Thanks
That's another sale they can chalk up to you, I just got mine ordered 😁
In Arabic we call our learned elders “Shaykh”; I think you’re my Shaykh in Archery. It’s a beautiful thing to see you so happy and pleased.

I always love seeing your Archery Form Extreme Happy. Nice Review, Uff Powerful Bow. Happy New Year 2019
I’m getting one for hunting what lbs which one thanks for sharing God bless
hi, i discovered your channel last week by alibow review and watched a LOT of your videos since it exactly match my style of shooting (but still tons to watch, what is great news ;) i'm about to order a kheshig bow, 30 or 35# at 28", (didn't choose yet) to really dig into thumb draw. from this review i can't really tell what arrow weight i should choose since you seem happy with every option :) could you recommend an ideal weight ? around 10-11 grains per pound i guess ? thanks a lot for your work, really appreciated. suscribed ;)
you are a warrior man💯
Thank you for your reviews. This is my first bow with my son. For deer hunting but cant decide the lbs. please help me to decide. 40lbs .45 lbs or 50 lbs? Thank you again Good job brother
depends on your shooting style and what you usually draw. for hunting at least 40# I guess
Ok armin thanks. Have just ordered one :)
enjoy
Armin Hirmer it’s been a joy to shoot. Thank you armin for the recommendation. Stringing is still a scary affair for me as extreme recurve “wants” to twist limbs.
you will exhaust your arms by pulling like that use the down force grip to pull then aim you can do more power
thanks
Hi Armin If you were to go hunting with this bow what grain would you suggest ? subscribed and liked the video thank you for your reviews :D
I have been waiting to see a review of the bows along with the Xuanwu by alibow.
Armin as a side question how short of a bow could one shoot Mediterranean with a 31inch draw? Currently my shortest bow is 59" and I really wanting to try a turkish bow but cant find one in person to try
well, you can go very short, simply do like the some Buthanese do, just before full draw stretch your index alongside the arrow, so there will be no finger pinching even with a very short bow. I shoot the short Turkish bows from Alibow somethimes three finger, no problem
I shoot longbow. With this Alibow you reviewed I noticed no nock on string or a fixed anchor point. Or arrow over knuckle. Not that its wrong. If I shoot that style of bow do I create the same shooting style with that bow.
Use whatever works for you
That sounds beautiful as well as looks beautiful. I want one. I have a hoyt protec which is in mint condition. I really want this. So save!
I think half of those views on the video are mine 😁 I own the bow now but I still love watching this review.
I've ordered this bow 35# @28". I normally draw 30", shooting Mediterranean style. Shooting thumb release, I figure 33" draw. I want to shoot either Aluminum or Carbon arrows. What spine weight would you recommend ? Thank you in advance.
Wood or bamboo arrows for me. If you shoot khatra, stiff arrows. Spine doesn't matter then. As far as weight goes, make sure they are at least 10gpp. Anything below that would be too light.
Hi Armin - On your more recent reviews you measure the string vs. bow angle at different draw lengths - Do you know what draw length makes the perfect 60 degree angle on the Kheshig? Thanks!
Need to check, when someone shows up with a kheshig :)
Hi @Armin when you describe your arrows in grains , that means the weight of the arrow, right? Can it be translated to spine value, or not at all related?
I did a video about that
Is there a downside to getting the takedown version of this bow or is the takedown version just as good?
the handle gets thicker, if you like that its fine.
Great to hear. I've delayed getting one to test because I was not fond of the Fiber Mongol bow from Alibow. Great to know they REALLY stepped it up with the Laminate!
What are your thoughts on the Keshig versus the Dunhuang? Do you recall the Dunhuang well enough to be able to compare the two experiences?
Dunhuang is a while ago, but did not leave an impression behind like this one

Hello Armin, a lot of followers chose to buy this bow because of your review which is encouraging. After that first impression did you shot it more in the meantime? Any "second impressions"? Do you think this design favors the lightweight or heavy arrows? I plan to use hardwood shafts with this one, but I am curious of your input. Thank you! Keep up te good work!
Hi Stefan. Unfortunately I don't have this bow anymore. Hardwood spined properly is surely fine with it. i would not go with too light weight arrows.
Thank you for the review. For all of them actually. I have decided that this is the bow I must have and thank you again for helping with that decision. I must say though, I am not sure you can be objective in your reviews as I have yet to see you review a bow you didn't love.....
If I ever will get a bow which I totally don't like, I will not do a review :D thanks for watching
I really like your videos! They are really awesome and informative. I was curious if youve ever came across a bow from yang fuxi of Ju yuan hao bows? Id love to have you reviem as they as they are traditional? Please let me know! Im so curious asto what your thoughts would be on them!!
