    Wow Armin, Went out to my range, Found the Brace at 6.5 inches, Changed to 7.5 inches, Moved top limb up further on my leg and closer to my mid back to string the bow, made it very easy. I shot 24 arrows of 350 grain, tilted bow about 20 degrees, and watched my follow thru. Wow ! Right on target, My shot groups were great and I was even skinning arrows. Great Bow, Love it. Thanks again, your articles are the best of the net.

    Wonderful review as always. Great thanks to my Digital Teacher 😊🙏👇👍
    Thanks to instinctive archery I even got motivated to do things I normally wouldn't do: reading history about Huns, Scythians, Mongols... Not going out on in Friday, just shoot some arrows (+-400). To even consider giving money for the first time on internet to someone I don't know. And even improving my English 😄 and so on... Archery is great!
    Thanks again and a lot!!!

    I've finally had a chance to shoot the Kheshig at the club at 20m. It's stunning to shoot, the draw is really really nice. I draw 33" thumb drawn so it's perfect size for me & the shape of the grip makes sideways twist Khatra effortless. Only snag is it punches my 535gn bamboos about 2-3 inches through a new straw target at that range & they're a nightmare to pull. It's definitely the nicest bow I've ever shot, and shooting rounds for the evening was easy as there just isn't any hand shock at all compared to the AF long Han bow or Alibow's Genghis bow. Your review was absolutely spot on 😁

I remember in a previous video you talked about the relationship between the bow and the string being optimum at 60 degrees. if was 90 degrees not so good. at full draw, 33 inches, it does go to 90 degrees. looks perfect though!!! The f-value, as far as I understand, is a predictor of how much a bow tends to stack. A low f-value is desirable for multiple reasons. First, the bow will feel smoother at full draw. Second, the draw force curve will be flatter near full draw, which allows the bow to store more energy at a given draw weight and deliver arrows of a certain gpp at a higher speed.

    It's really great to see so many trad bow reviews, your channel provides plenty bow porn to me! Thanks for the great work, and happy new year Armin!
    Besides, I noticed that both Qinghai and Kheshig from Alibow used synthetic foam at the tip, which seems to be an intention of reducing weight. However, I also read an article by a Chinese bowyer "长风弓造"(Long Wind Bows), he measured and pointed out that foam is actually denser than maple wood or bamboo which are used as limb core materials, but foam recovers much better from bending, and therefore he drew the conclusion that foam is better than wood to be used at the working parts rather than the static parts. At last he built 2 Turkish bows of the same draw weight, one with full foam core, the other wood, as a result, the foam one produced higher arrow speed. So what do you think of it...

    At one of your other videos I asked about the brace hight being a bit different in the upper and lower limb. I've contacted Alibow about this, and they say the bow is designed that way. Just thought I'd put this here if anyone had that same question.
    On another note, lately you've been mentioning that 60 degree angle a lot in your videos, and I noticed the Kheshig has an almost 90 degree angle at 33 inches. Can't say it impacts it's performance, but I do feel better shooting it at 31 or 32 inches anyway. All said and done, I still love it. What a bow 😁

    hi, i discovered your channel last week by alibow review and watched a LOT of your videos since it exactly match my style of shooting (but still tons to watch, what is great news ;) i'm about to order a kheshig bow, 30 or 35# at 28", (didn't choose yet) to really dig into thumb draw. from this review i can't really tell what arrow weight i should choose since you seem happy with every option :) could you recommend an ideal weight ? around 10-11 grains per pound i guess ? thanks a lot for your work, really appreciated. suscribed ;)

      Armin Hirmer it’s been a joy to shoot. Thank you armin for the recommendation. Stringing is still a scary affair for me as extreme recurve “wants” to twist limbs.

    you will exhaust your arms by pulling like that use the down force grip to pull then aim you can do more power

    I have been waiting to see a review of the bows along with the Xuanwu by alibow.
    Armin as a side question how short of a bow could one shoot Mediterranean with a 31inch draw? Currently my shortest bow is 59" and I really wanting to try a turkish bow but cant find one in person to try

    • @ArminHirmer
      @ArminHirmer  5 лет назад

      well, you can go very short, simply do like the some Buthanese do, just before full draw stretch your index alongside the arrow, so there will be no finger pinching even with a very short bow. I shoot the short Turkish bows from Alibow somethimes three finger, no problem

  • @newplantosuceed
    @newplantosuceed 5 лет назад +1

    I shoot longbow. With this Alibow you reviewed I noticed no nock on string or a fixed anchor point. Or arrow over knuckle. Not that its wrong. If I shoot that style of bow do I create the same shooting style with that bow.

    I've ordered this bow 35# @28". I normally draw 30", shooting Mediterranean style. Shooting thumb release, I figure 33" draw. I want to shoot either Aluminum or Carbon arrows. What spine weight would you recommend ? Thank you in advance.

    • @gizmonomono
      @gizmonomono 4 года назад +1

      Wood or bamboo arrows for me. If you shoot khatra, stiff arrows. Spine doesn't matter then. As far as weight goes, make sure they are at least 10gpp. Anything below that would be too light.

    Hi Armin - On your more recent reviews you measure the string vs. bow angle at different draw lengths - Do you know what draw length makes the perfect 60 degree angle on the Kheshig? Thanks!

      Need to check, when someone shows up with a kheshig :)

    Hi @Armin when you describe your arrows in grains , that means the weight of the arrow, right? Can it be translated to spine value, or not at all related?

    Is there a downside to getting the takedown version of this bow or is the takedown version just as good?

      the handle gets thicker, if you like that its fine.

    Great to hear. I've delayed getting one to test because I was not fond of the Fiber Mongol bow from Alibow. Great to know they REALLY stepped it up with the Laminate!
    What are your thoughts on the Keshig versus the Dunhuang? Do you recall the Dunhuang well enough to be able to compare the two experiences?

    Hello Armin, a lot of followers chose to buy this bow because of your review which is encouraging. After that first impression did you shot it more in the meantime? Any "second impressions"? Do you think this design favors the lightweight or heavy arrows? I plan to use hardwood shafts with this one, but I am curious of your input. Thank you! Keep up te good work!

    • @ArminHirmer
      @ArminHirmer  5 лет назад

      Hi Stefan. Unfortunately I don't have this bow anymore. Hardwood spined properly is surely fine with it. i would not go with too light weight arrows.

    Thank you for the review. For all of them actually. I have decided that this is the bow I must have and thank you again for helping with that decision. I must say though, I am not sure you can be objective in your reviews as I have yet to see you review a bow you didn't love.....
