Was there that night ...... truly magic .... was such a joy to see Gerrys music being played live by such wonderful musicians and of course members of Gerrys family. Love this version ....love this song thankyou so much for uploading it ..... wonderful wonderful memories
I am actually pictured in this video. We were seated 2cnd row right of centre for this wonderful tribute to one of the finest singer /songwriters ,and certainly Scotland's best ,in my opinion. Brilliant backing by Roddy Hart and Lonesome Fire , Mel Collins ,Rab Noakes (r.i.p. 2022) and of course the legend that is Jack Bruce, another of our own. Will be seeing Roddy H.and L.F. at Celtic Connections in a couple of weeks, always a great night.
Jack and the band have done a beautiful traditional rendition as a tribute. Woo Hoa is a tribute to the old ones. Celtic magic music at its best. Abhoy dare Gerry and Jack. Grand.
Ist von 1988 North and South. Eine der besten CDs, die ich kenne. Und ich kenne sehr viele. Danke Gerry. Du warst einer der Besten. Ohne jeden Zweifel. Schade, dass das Mainstream-Publikum so blöd ist und das nie verstanden hat.

i once think in 1983 ish saw jack rehearse for a dundee gig the rehearsal was at the gig (pub/ club) in blairgowrie we were in the bar and invited through i sat next to jack and had the bar fish n chips he was great lad gd laugh i think the drummer was the guy from the knack ( my sherona) he was great laugh too
The band here were incredible. Jack Bruce was not. He couldn't even remember the words. And the vocal was poor at best. He was given the best song of the night, and it was wasted on him.
Jack's wailing is magical. What a rendition of this fabulous composition.
Dear Jack. I followed you for over 50 years and saw you live many times. I finally got to meet you in SF before you passed. Thank you dear soul.
What a rendition. Wow Wow Wow. Sadly missed Gerry Rafferty, Rab Noakes, and Jack Bruce all stars. 🎸🎼🌟
Great song by a great artist, Gerry.
Brilliantly played by Jack and band.
Very moving.
WOW!! I loved Rafferty!! And I love this song!! And you guys covered it beautifully!! ☮️💕
At least Mt Bruce gave it his best, in light of his poor health. Glen from Alexandria West Dumbartonshire. 🏴 🎸.
JACKS AGE IS SHOWING, WHAT A GREAT MUSICIAN REST IN PEACE WITH THAT BASS JACK
You can see and hear Jack wanted this one to count bags of feeling ...
RIP, DEAR BROTHER. THANKS
The audience seemed to love this performance.
So did I.
But... What do we know?
He's Jack Bruce!
Scotland's finest songwriter with Scotland's greatest musician, say no more. Oh, and Jack wrote a great song or 10!
Jack wrote a lot more than 10 great songs, @jerrythompson2857
!!!
If this doesn’t lift your soul…absolutely love it..
Would bring a tear to a glass eye…
Well done Jack and the band.
Sorely missed. Beautiful tribute ❤️

God bless you Jack Bruce.i was at the gig .what a line up. Still waiting for the day
Fantastic Jack
A big band, pipes, Mel Collins AND Mr. Bruce? What more could you want?
Jerry Donahue from the recording.
There’s always one… 😉
Brilliant....sends shivers down my spine..
What a beautiful song, one of a kind. Wish there were more songs like this out there with real professional musicians like this.
There are thousands . Not looking in the right places . KEXP
Amazing! My advice would be for this to be remastered. So much content - so much music - so much passion!
What a lovely tribute to Gerry! Well done Jack
good to hear live again
What a song..
MAGNIFICENT!... Talent Overload!.... Jack really made this one count!.... Fantastic rendition of Gerry Raffertys song... They all did him proud...

Ein so schönes Srück Musik. Ich könnte es mir jeden Tag anhören. Die 6min20 vergehen so schnell und die Musiker sind erste Klasse!
Wow. So good
Just greatness
admirable cover of an admirable song
Nice! Thank you.
Beautiful...
To listen to the OH OH from Jack is all heart
it's so beautiful. Love!!
Celtic melancholia, it has given us such beautiful songs
Brilliant...
Thank you for uploading.
Nice to see Jack play his Warwick Survivor bass.
Gerry Rafferty, talented though he was, is here honored by a superior talent.
y would u say that? Both Great,,
@@TG77ish Why do I say anything?
Because it's my opinion, and in my opinion, Rafferty is very good, and Bruce is a GENIUS.

great!
RIP Gerry Rafferty.
where can we hear the whole concert? i don't mind paying for it
God, I wish I was Scottish
Nice
Great song , murdered in cold blood !
Couldn't agree more. The band were great, but Jack was awful.
Ha ha!
@AlanRafferty: You're such a musical idiot, not understanding music at all!
❤
I was there that night, and the band were amazing. It was spoiled a bit by Jack only knowing half the words.
He sang without words much better than Rafferty!

Although I loved and respected you both GR recording is better than yours Jack. Hope you both enjoy sharing a bottle between you. God bless you both.
Rafferty's voice was so superb. This was just a tribute and Jack did a great job.
Keith Travers hate to admit I have not heard GR8 version, but this is awesome.

ballochdubh How right you are.
GR's rendition is just breathtaking
Jack had lost his voice by this time - before his liver transplant he could sing anyone off the stage.
Not lost but it got weaker, so he had to find new ways to use it. Eventhough i love hos strong voice , i can see the beauty in this phase too.
However, he did sing much better than Rafferty ever did
Love Gerry..this does not come even close..Local bar cober band sh%t.
Jack not at his best since his health issues but in his heyday would.blow rafferty off the stage
No way
Even with health issues he blew him off the stage!!!
Gerry Rafferty does it much better ,Jack has no voice
Who the hell cares? He is Jack Bruce and he was still alive on stage.
Soulful voice now maybe the range isn't there. So cool
Maybe Jack played on Rafferty's version to begin with ? This sounds just like Rafferty's version except vocals of course.
@@rscott2247have you listened to Rafferty's version ?
The opposite is true!
