Brought a tear to my eye. You are an inspiration and example for children and young adults trying to overcome a very tough start to life. Well done sir and I also believe you will be back when the time is right for you and your family.
He’s still making top tens, earned almost $2MM this year and over $50MM in his career. I think he’s doing just fine despite not being the top player in the world anymore. His career is hardly over.
Money man.lol grow up and stop being jelly. U writing that is hilarious tho thank u,i haven't laughed like that in ages
got to meet Jason 4 years ago at the last Bridgestone at firestone. you could tell he is a humbled man because of experiences and what hes dealt with/ overcame. overall fantastic human beings then is one of the most genuine pro athletes let alone golfers I have ever been able to meet.
Jason is definitely one of my favorite professional golfers. I'm surprised you didn't mention Jason's very very first shot as a pro was a smothered duck hook which hit a lady standing next to the first tee. He got into the tourney via a sponsor from Greg Norman. Anyways, all the best, and your videos are awesome.
Cheers for that? Lol fukin hell he will be pleased with you
Forgetting his mother battling cancer at the same time and him being across the world from her. She eventually came to Ohio for treatment but that was hugely stressful for Jason. It was the same time he had his second child and was having bad back issues. Everything simply piled up on him physically and mentally. He's too good not to come back to form. His kids will grow up a bit and he'll be back.
Are you his caddie?
@@dantaylor897 Do you think his mother battling cancer all the way across the world wasn't a big deal to him? It was well documented at the time how stressful the situation was trying to get his Mom to Ohio. This video does a good job showing how important his mom is to him then leaves out the fact that she was battling cancer while these injuries were happening. If you don't think that had a big impact idk what to tell you.
@@JeffSmith-eq3kc Who said that? Your tripping jeffy
@@dantaylor897 I guess you just don't follow golf all that closely. My real name isn't Jeff Smith so calling me Jeffy just reminds of me the movie where Johnny Knoxville competed in the special Olympics.
@@JeffSmith-eq3kc dont guess, your terrible at it.
My workplace had a wonderful time following Jason's rise to world number one, so many victories and such an exciting player to follow. We have not written him off just yet.
I saw him as a kid (around 2006) at Keysborough golf club in Melbourne Victoria playing a practice round by himself. I didn't know who he was but the guy I finished a golf round with said "That's Jason day, I'm going to ask for his autograph, cuz, you never know".
Sure enough, Jason became number 1 in the world.
Great video, I feel he's got more wins in his future, and majors too. Look at Freddie Couples playing with a stiff back (Boom-Boom). Thanks Mitchell for another update.
Yeah I agree ☝️
Jason Day is back, period.
Nicely done on the documentary! Touching
Excellent, well done video report. I feel that Jason will be back, he's only 33, just needs rest and recovery. He has lots of time left in his career. Best of luck to him....
I believe Jason Day now has back problems. Most people commenting on youtube in stuff like that have no idea the fine line between even say 20th ranked in the world and 150th. It is extremely difficult to get to the pga tour, and harder to even stay out there.
Yeah it seems like the difference between winning a tourney and coming last is like 1-2 slightly off shots
It's amazing how far golf has come in the last years. So many young excellent new talents, that a lot of the guys from ten years ago like Kaymer, Stenson, Day, Donald, Keegan Bradley really struggle.
Maybe having a career from 21 to 49 on the PGA becomes more and more the exemption, unlike the 80/90s/00s when a core of 150 guys always kept their card.
Pro Golfer’s backs do not hold up once they reach their 40’s or even sooner (Anthony Kim) that have such little hip turn, but a full shoulder turn in their swing, players that turn their hips more in their backswing last longer.
He’ just turned 33… I think he has the frame to last till 45+ but I see what you are saying
That was great, thanks.

Quality videos.
You’re about to blow up👍
I really like Jason Day and hope he can come back and win some more too. He was so great to watch. At this point, I don't watch the PGA tour but if he starts being near the top again, I'll be switching back on for sure.
A true Aussie champion, so sad what has happened to him, a really nice bloke. Let’s all hope he gets back to the top where he belongs, on ya mate.
Love these videos 🙌
Arsenal fan ❤️
These videos are fantastic. I know nothing about professional golf but you tell a great story.
Love J Day I know he will be back and he will win again, When Jordan Speith struggled for years there was no doubt he would be back, like Jordan J Day is way to talented not to be back in the winner's circle as long as no serious injury.
Super nice guy. Swing was very restrictive and violent, bound to get injured. Had a great career, might still stay somewhat competitive but that's about it.
One of my favorite players to watch because his shot playing and his personality…
His mum passed away too, this really had a massive impact on him. He has a loving family and golf may just have to become a hobby if his back doesn’t recover.
Didn't think I could root for someone more. Let's go Jday!
Lives just north of Westerville. Great guy. Wish him the best!!!
Good documentary! Enjoyed it. However you stated that Day finished 2 strokes behind angel Cabrera in the 2013 masters (who is now going to jail for tax evasion, this might be an idea for your next doc?!) he actually finished 2 strokes behind Adam Scott who beat angel in a play off!
He's currently in jail for assault, theft and illegal intimidation not tax evasion.
This channel needs to bang
I had no idea about the story behind his father.
What happened? He won a major and reached number one in the world...pretty much did what he set out to do. Then he chose raising his daughter over golf for the time being. Any Luke Donald fans out there.....or did u forget about how great he was too. Family should always come first. I'll tell you what happened to JD, exactly what he wanted to happen
Ehhh I wouldn't say that entirely. His mother battling cancer wasn't exactly what he wanted to happen. I think that was an enormous part of the story here that somehow wasn't even mentioned. You're definitely correct that his family is hugely important to him, which is why his mother's illness was so devastating. She was in Australia while Jason lived in Ohio. He badly wanted her to come to Ohio for treatment and I believe she eventually did but it was massively difficult and stressful for him.
Ive always loved Jase even tho im a Kiwi. And Parry. Didnt know this before tho? Im in tears of pride for you Jason, champion.
I was so hoping for a comeback of JD. But it was not supposed to happen, I guess. However, If I were ever given the chance to have a round of golf with a pro of my choice, it would be him.
Go Jason, you’re a champ. Go and play we missed you.
All these millions in the bank - why worry - enjoy just being you, get involved when your health is fine! When its not, just sit back and drink some wine, play happy families and have great times, you have done your bit, there is no rush to get over the line, family comes first Jason all of the time, life will be what it will be and it will turn out just fine! There is no need to prove yourself all of the time, No need to push yourself as you have done your time! Have fun Jason!
hmmmm winners have a winning mentality... not a sit back and cruze to make the cut hohum mentality !!!
@@rhett7716 Yes all us golfers want to win - that's the aim of the game, but one must take time out when one is lame, no point in playing golf when ones in pain, my poem was aimed at Jason to help him maintain his aim in life for his family and his wife, you obviously missed my point in what I write! My thoughts were for him, not to pick what is wrong or what is right! Get well soon Jason and get back into the fight, we all wish you well in getting back hitting balls in flight!
You can do it Jason !!!
Love your content - keep it up man
Thank you 🙏🏻
Some injuries are really hard to get over
Jason's dad really motivated him to do good. What an inspiration.
Ya and also beated him. But the hard tough love paid off..
I stop watching golf when Tiger stopped winning then JDay came to the scene. Now I only watch the LPGA. Hope Jason regain his winning days again. Best of luck to him.
Jason day was not the closest thing to tiger woods. LOL
THATS THE FUNNIEST OPENER I HAVE EVER HEARD
well he had a stella junior/amature career !
“This boys gonna be a champion one day”. Seems like everyone of these videos has one of these quotes from a parent or coach.
Yeah! Very lovely video and I love to see him again up on top … he’s a very inspiring sportsman and person!
The problem is there is always new and hungry talent coming through. The game won't stand still waiting for Jason to catch up. And then there is the curse of the 'one-hit-major-winner', a fate that has befallen so many top flight golfers in the last 25 years (check the records). And Jason's results are just so far off the pace, sometimes 15-20 shots behind the winner.
Time waits for no one. And every year a new crop of high talent young players arrives.
It'll be hard to get back to pga level golf again.
and Tigers results were so far off the pace too, and then Boom another Major !!😏
It's no secret. His back failed him.
yup
Go hang out with Fred Couples and pick his brain on how to win with chronic back pain as you age.
Like most golfers they play well week in week out for years then win a major the virtually disappear .
There are alot of player a that fell off the map. It's a tough way to make a living if your game falls off the map you don't go anywhere
yes but many didnt suffer major back problems like JD !!!
There's such a thing as working too hard. And that tv reporter is right about short swings / short careers.
Win a major, become immortal. Jason lives forever. Good for him.
All golfers have shorter backswings as they age, it is inevitable. Compare the backswings of greats such as Nicklaus or Watson now against when they were in their twenties. It's that, or a wrecked back. On the plus side, the shorter backswing usually results in better accuracy.
Doug Sanders had one of the shortest backswings on the PGA tour, he won ten times as many PGA tournaments as Brandel Chamlee.
Jason is a great player, I just hope he can overcome his back problems. Best putter from 20 feet I've seen.
What do you mean what happened... seems like a pretty good career to me
Hey Mitchell, really enjoy these segments, keep them going. Maybe Jason got busted using Poly Max Extremes?
At least he got a major during his time
You not believe he’ll get another?
@@mitchellblades Of course he can. However, the field is so strong at the moment even winning a few tour events a year is difficult, let alone contending at majors
Yeah agreed, don’t think we’ll ever see someone do what Tiger did at number 1 for 10 years
Tell a short swing means short career to Jon Rahm.
Hope he makes a comeback
I just wonder where he was. Hope he gets back to form.
What a story, amazing Jason day
Perfect job. Journeyman Golfer.
I Know backpain also .My career was shaped by lower back problems .I love all sports including golf and was quite good at it ,getting to a four handicap .Surgeries help initially but you lose suppleness also as you age .Cycling saved me from going mad without exercise and i gave up golf .Call it a DAY Jason! Find other things or start a different career .You will always be a great champion
I dont think he'll win another major. But I would've said the same for Garcia, Woods and Mickelson all winning late in their careers, and they proved me wrong.
The problem Day had was playing in a very competitive era and if you are compared to Woods, then that his a huge burden to carry. Its not fair to compare because it adds so much unrealistic pressure. Just let players be themselves.
Yeah except Jason is only 33, so his career is still very young. This video completely left out his mother's cancer diagnosis which was a HUGE deal for Jason. She wanted to stay in Australia but Jason wanted her in Ohio with him to go to the Mayo Clinic. It was the same time his back was really struggling the most so it became overwhelming I think. He'll be back. He's too good not to. I think his kids will get a bit older and he will be back in form.
Jason, I really want you to get healthy again. I have had many obstacles' in my life as well. You have inspired myself along with so many other people.
Your body is very resilient. Keep working hard with balance, and enough sleep and eat healthy. You can be very happy, the competition is much better. I know you will love it.
I miss your game and I know many others do as well. One last thing pick-up the book " The Great Tao " by Dr. Stephen T. Chang. This book should you read it all the way through. I think, you will find many things to help you understand how to possible fix your focus and balance in the juggling of sport and life. Best wishes, Bill Murphy, Redwood City, CA.
Also, If you are in town someday lets play around if you have the time? Afterwards, my wife and I will take you out to dinner. Just a Thought. Hang - Tough Jason.
I think he'll be back.
Pardon the pun.
Please do a “what happened to dechambeau”. I am really curious and I think it can be a hit video.
He's currently 7th in the WORLD, that's what happened to him, he got better !
LOL, Bryson's in the top 5 in almost every tournament. He'll get his "what happened" vid in a few years after his unsustainable swing tears his body up.
You don't get cronic back pain from training... if that were the case all who train would have back pain. Its primerilly genes that determine that
Problem with day is he has not won anything since last 6 or 7 years he got to bounce back for sure a great story just another episode of tiger 🐅
My golfing career ended at age thirty-eight and to this day physically disabled.
Are you referring to yourself
I get to insane form j I work with martial art using wing Chung and jeet June do theory. I can have you in top 10 before you pay then we get to # 1 . We got this .easy with your talent it's the mind
Let’s hope so!
Damn!😳🥺✊🏽✊🏽✊🏽 Jason Day all the way!!! 😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤 I'm gonna work harder too.
Good luck Jason.
Remember how many could feel that major coming on Day 4.
. Awesome career! I personally don't think will win another majo,r but who cares. Back problems screw up your game. Jason , you have nothing to prove. Enjoy the family and your good.
He proved to be the best in the world. ALL DAY! One of my favorite golfers of all time who was fucking #1 with 7 billion people on earth. You crushed now save your back.
Spotted myself at 11:30 😅
Jason has back problem which affects his range of mobility and his timing. It is the worst chronic issue to have in golf.
His swing is too hard on his body and it costed him and that just one of the reasons.
A swing change is needed if he wanted to keep playing let alone in contention and win.
exactly, I teach and use a much flatter plane swing, had to develop it from yeah back pain issues...also all the gym time? It's just too much on the body, then they have to eat more and that takes a toll on your body as well ...he probably has Chrohn's disease, I did, had to get super clean diet to resolve back issues
Day's peak was in that few years in the mid-2010s when Tiger either wasn't playing due to injuries or wasn't competitive, like at the 2015 US Open. That was that weird time in Golf when names like Spieth, Day, Kaymer, Stenson, Scott, Watson, and McIlory were the dominant players. Of those players, really none have had any longevity. Spieth has certainly made big strides this year and McIlory is consistent but neither has lived up to the hype.
All of those players were quality players. Staying at the top is not normal in any sport.
@@Ligerpride that’s why I admire guys like tiger, jack, Tom Brady, lebron, roger Federer, Messi, etc
Bubba Watson have yet to injured himself due to his classic looking swing.
Hey Mitchell! Can you do “what happened to justin rose”
I believe not even he knows when he'll return. It's all on his new swing which supposed to relieve pain. I believe he goes off script when he wants to and goes back to his old swing during tournaments
Jason Day has age on his side even with his back issues. It’s not far fetched he can contend or win a major barring any setbacks
C'mon Jason!
It's his turn to make a comeback.
Having a bad back understand how it must be even worse for him. The speed and fury he swings at the ball not good for a bad back
Bruh he was at -10 with a 3 shot lead entering the day yesterday and shot +9 to finish at -1 😭💀
Love JD. Golf is so difficult and hard to maintain consistent good play especially with pain.
Just saying maybe he wasn’t as good as he looked over a short period of time, but good enough to win a major which is way more than the average pro ever accomplished.
He was very good! No health issues he’ll be back
He didn’t win the Aus masters in 2000, he might have won the Aussie amateur but Michael Campbell won the Aussie Masters
Amateur
Some would like to say that his Day is over…. Sorry that was bad
On his back swing he needs to straighten his right leg and rotate his right hip back this will relieve lot of back pain watch tiger he dose this now.
So hard to wrote all on here jeet kune do .srry for type o
The hunger just isn’t there anymore. His priorities are his family and his health. He’s getting $10M a year to wear Nike, so he’s happy raking in the dough whilst not having to worry about making a cut. He’s another to add to the long list of ‘one-major-wonders’.
One major wonder? Players champ and 2 WGC events also world #1. He was the best player in the world for almost 2 years. Golf is a tough game to sustain for long period of time.
@@Snickerszn look at his contemporaries - Spieth, Koepka, McIlroy - all multiple major winners and Day is every bit as talented as these guys. He should have won the Masters in 2013; he should have won the US Open in 2013, and he should have won the US PGA in 2016. He had genuine chances to ice those majors and didn’t. He’s underachieved in my opinion.
@@MP60 yeah and Norman had a number of close seconds too !!!
get rid of the annoying music and keep the content at the facts without the subjective commentary and the content would be really good
The Larry Bird of golf. Career cut short by a bad back
he has already won! Any PGA players
12:04 did you really mispronounce the word Nike?
He always has a health issue at every major.
I dont even know him. Until now.
👍👍👍
You just never know peoples life struggles.
Man, what a big dummy Lebron is
Back is fucked up unfortunately. Had to change his swing to accommodate for it and his form dropped
Swatton is not Jason’s swing coach anymore
