How he joined in my perspective is that he fell out of the sky from a watcher portal, and fell in water. Grian cant swim, so X saved him. Grian wasn't bloody or had watcher clothes on, he just had his normal clothes. This is very cool tho! Very cool way of interpreting how he joined.
