  • In-car footage from #39, Matt Trudell, during the Saturday and Sunday races of the Formula Car Challenge at Infineon, supporting the IZOD IndyCar Grand Prix. First time back in the car since last Sept. and first time on the IRL configuration.
    Summary:
    Race 1 - Started 11th and finished 7th out of 23 and recorded a personal best lap of the weekend @ 1:37.500. One full-course caution involved contact with 2 PFM's at the bus stop.
    Race 2 - Started 7th and finished 4th out of 23. Two full-course cautions; first involved ~3 FM's at 3a on the opening lap and the second involved 2 FM's (1 rolled) at the bus stop.

    Awesome footage! One suggestion though: get a fur windsock for your mic that'll cut down the wind noise A LOT.

    Yep, it's the 13B rotary from the RX-7.

    Nope, all the cars are identical. But I did take it apart and put it back together a few times, if that counts. lol

    @nismo451 I believe Formula Mazdas are have a Wankel rotary engine.
