Tim, you should put a link (links) to the specific product(s) found in the video in the description or comments. I can’t find the baffles on your site.

Ejection baffles are found at: www.apogeerockets.com/Building_Supplies/Parachutes_Recovery_Equipment/Ejection_Baffles

I got a tip from another rocket maker in a group that he would put a small piece of steel wool in the baffle to help catch the embers so the chute wouldn’t melt in spots. What’s your thoughts? Seems like it would work but isn’t steel wool flammable?

We've been trying to go away from this, because they can clog up and prevent the ejection charge from pushing the parachute out. I've lost a couple of rockets to this issue. So it isn't something I'd heartily recommend.

I have not seen ejection baffles before, so this is very interesting. Do they use these baffles on high power or dual deployments?

No, just low - mid power. I've never used them but I guess I should one day just to have a go.

how do you install Baffles into finished rockets?

Just slide them in and glue them in to place.

Why do you glue the ejection baffle?? Dont it eject out the parachute??

The baffle is not a piston. It just breaks up the flow of the deploy charge. The pressure still comes through but not the sparks. But a piston is probably better anyway.

      It acts like a muffler.
