Improving om606 rear cylinder cooling wth the cooling mod

OM606 engines suffer from increased heat in the last cylinder. This mod reroutes cool water directly from the waterpump to the back of the block. This mod supposedly lowers the last cylinder temperature by about 15%!

It was all supposed to be iron because of the heat of the sump

Do you think it is also needed for the normal aspirated OM606 (without turbo)?

The cooling system works the same . It helps prevent the rear 2 cylinders getting more heat then the rest of the cylinders. Is it needed ? not really when you're not boosting the engine . But better to have it and not need it then , not have it and need it IMO.

Sorry but 3/8 inch is not close to 16mm (9.7mm) ,,,, 5/8 on the other hand

I know this this old, but this may help someone watching this in the future. The Garagify guy is correct. 3/8 NPT is what he used. 3/8 NPT is around 17mm in diameter

Not worth the struggle. Om605 does not have this problem.

Does the om603 have this problem. Have you ever put a mercedes diesel in a mercedes gas car. Is it possible to make everything work correctly.
