I'm very confused about something. At ~15:00 you are very adamant about rotating the engine counter-clockwise. Then @ `15:30 you say "rotate it right, do not rotate to the left" then proceed to rotate to the left. Were you just getting you left/right mixed up in the moment or am I missing something?
thanks for the video, i am doing my first service this weekend and this will be helpful *edit* just finished the maintenance thanks to your video everything went smoothly! No issues at all!
Hey what’s up man I hope you get a chance to read and reply this message. I just bought my Hunter 350 it’s the same exact bike and color as the one here. I watched the whole video and took notes from step to step and took pictures and labeled everything you talked about. I’m pretty sure I got everything down but I’m just worried about making the valences exactly 007 and 003 and if I mess up I’ll be screwed. But also had a question about the oil draining cause when I did it did not successfully drain all the oil even though I took off the cap on the bottom and think I’m missing something. You kind of cut through that part and went straight to the oil filter installation and oil filling. If you could just explain the whole draining process to me I would greatly appreciate it man. Thank you
Some oil is still in the sump, which you can drain from the right plug (the one with a copper washer). Draining most of the oil from the bottom is easy though, cannot imagine you didnt drain the vast majority of the oil that way. (remember to pull and clean the strainer from bottom too) If in doubt watch stuart fillingham.
@@d.4tay549 adding a glue can cause the rubber seal to swell, shrink or hardened and cause an oil leak. I know it really sucks to line it back up and get the valve cover back on but there is no other good way to do this. I have gotten really good at reinstall the cover with the gasket laying on the head. Takes me about 3 - 5 minutes.
The different size bolt/nut combination prevents having to have duplicate tools. I actually prefer this method.
Good to follow and pleased you had some struggles as shows how things are in real life!
so this is exactly what I was looking for. you did a terrific job in showing how to do this, now I am confident I can do this. Thanks so much!
Congratulations you just saved $800
Seriously. I thought the first service intervals were free... yeah right.
Great vid, I own a hunter and its nice seeing someone rip one apart before I do. Thanks mate.
You mentioned the valve clearance was good and you didn't have to adjust them...how did the ticking go away?
Yes, very concerning.
I suspect this "300mls" valve adjustment is a small scam so the dealer can make some money?...oil change yes but valve adjustment?...🤔
Typically, at the first service, the calves are found to be tight.
Excellent video !! what is the torque requirement for the oil drain plug ?? Greetings from Mexico
Here is the repair manual it will have all the info you need

You didn’t adjust the valves, so what made the engine quieter.
Let me know do you have the timing wheel making noise or timing chain during acceleration
Love for the Tina pin
This is pure gold. Wonderful information. But please, treat yourself a few bucks and get a real funnel 😂. What specific oil is that again?
I don’t think you have to disconnect the exhaust sensor plug?

If you can’t tell I am brand new to doing my own maintenance. My second bike but haven’t tried working on my own bike yet.

Does the gasket not come loose from the top of the head? Is it physically attached somehow?
@@d.4tay549 they use a metal bracket to hold it in place on 1 side
Could that be circumvented, and simply use some spray adhesive and affix it to the underside channel of the valve cover? @@PincheALsGarage
