    "My warriors! My citizens!
    Was i a king worthy of your life ?!
    Was it a country worthy enough to sacrifice your family for ?!
    If thats is so...!!! If that really is...!!!" - Camazotzs, beast of oblivion.
    Yeah, the beast has a really tragic backstory. But thanks to him, we get a chance of surviving this Lostbelt.

    What a surprise seeing a Fate/Grand Order reaction here awesome! The song actually has a name it's called "The Last Brave" and yes it's meant to sound heroic and a bit sad because Camazots The king of the Braves saved the world a long time ago...at the cost of it's people..

    so this is indeed a mobile game ! fate/grand order has been going on for the past EIGHT years currently; it's a turn based game that has visual novel qualities to the story aspect of it, so it has a lil bit of a loop to the music that is indeed noticeable but it's so good that you tend to not mind it !!

    This is definitely a mobile game so no worries there! Fate/Stay Night is the visual novel, but Fate/Grand Order is a mobile game loosely based on it. Fate also has a bunch of other, more traditional videogames too. And anime and movies. Super big franchise overall.

    FGO has a looooot of good music in it. They really like to use a lot of the orchestra bells in so many themes but they're used tastefully. There are some absolutely bangers for music, and some that those who play through the game it will bring to tears because it plays during super emotional scenes.

    This is a essentially a song about sacrifice. The song sounds grand because it represents the weight of this beast who was once king A king whose citzens all sacrificed their lives so that he may become immortal and defeat a cosmic horror that would have wiped out the human race had they not done this. And now you have to put this King down because he is a monster who in trying to save the human race became a primal threat to it. Its a tragic battle because you have to feel his legacy and understand the true weight of what he has struggled through. How much he loved his people and how hard hes willing to fight for them. Camazotz translates to death bat which is what they are fighting. It is a legend in the Maya religion around ya gussed it sacrifice and the underworld. Personally, even before getting to this part of the story my face always hurt like I was gonna cry when I listened to this song lol. It's cool to see fate content here. I hope theres more in the future.

    The crossover of myths, history and literature
    In this series is crazy and cool af. For example on the screen you have The boss Camazotz (The Death Bat) Mayan God of night, death, and sacrifice. Player characters from first to last. Mage version of King Arthur,
    Arcueid Brunestud/Arc Type earth. The literal will of the planet manifested, and Merlin from Arthurian legends.

    Well this is a suprise to see, didn't expect to see a FGO track pop up. FGO has a lot of great tracks recently with the story pulling no punches. Also yes its a mobile visual novel that is kinda light on gameplay, but the writing and ost can easily make up for it. Camszotz actually became a MASSIVE fan favorite character after this chapter ended. Honestly with the flood gates open I kinda hope someone drops in the ORT medley as those are imo the best themes in fgo currently.

    Fate is an extremely unusual property, to be sure. The basic premise of Fate is essentially that there are sorcerers who summon historical/mythological figures for the purpose of fighting for control of something referred to as "The Holy Grail," in what are known as the Grail Wars. The victor can use the Grail to have a wish granted, but for various reasons this usually doesn't go well.
    Fate/Grand Order is a bit of a deviation from this premise due to being a mobile game that is reliant on a gacha monetization model, but it still has you "summoning" (read: paying for a chance to win) characters from history and myth to fight for you against various baddies. It probably would not surprise you that many of these figures are not what you would normally call accurate to their original descriptions, to put it *very* mildly, but it sells very well.

    • @adrastos8401
      @adrastos8401 Год назад +3

      Honestly it's some of the most accurate historically of any fiction out there, even with the Genderbends, and rather understandable changes to Hindu characters power.

    • @Mrinsecure
      @Mrinsecure Год назад +4

      @@adrastos8401 "Most accurate" here being a *very* relative term. For a lot of franchises, names and identities of mythological figures are basically just set dressing, so I'm glad for a property that does even a little research into the stories they're stealing from.

    • @nathanperquin9910
      @nathanperquin9910 Год назад +10

      actually i think its best to think of fate not as based on our history, but rather its an entire rewrite of all mythology with eye on the concept of alternate timelines and universes.
      So its not that king arthur was a girl in out history, but king arthur was one in that universe, and the entire mythos and reasoning around it is changed for it.
      Imagine it as reading a different world's mythology

    • @r3dr4te963
      @r3dr4te963 11 месяцев назад +2

      But while Fate series kinda ignoring the "canon" event of history, they seems putting more thought and respect for those historical characters, even giving some "happy ending" for them.

  • @MomijiHVods

    It is a mobile game, and has the original writers from the 2004 Visual novel you heard over a year ago (Fate/stay night) so the story is absolutely fantastic, which is always one of the benefits of live-service games as opposed to one-and-done console games.

  • @Worm38p
    @Worm38p Год назад +7

    Definitely a case of somewhat niche in the West but very successful. Fate/Stay Night is the visual novel this is a spin-off from, and Fate/Stay Night is probably the most popular visual novel of all time, but this spin-off built on its popularity and is much more popular. Its revenue should be somewhere between Candy Crush and Genshin Impact.
    As for what type of game it is, it's indeed turn-based and with a large emphasis on the story. It's been going on for a while now, with them continually adding chapters, so the script size is enormous. Probably about 10 times the word count of the Lord of the Rings trilogy if you include all dialogue and flavor text.

    A lot of FGO'S music is extremely inspiring, evoking the image of "heroes forging ahead", given the nature of the plot.
    Here's a summary of the current arc, which this song is a part of:
    The Foreign God, a lovecraftian God from outer space, invaded Earth and turned it into a wasteland of white sand. From the earth has sprouted different, magically walled-off zones called "Lostbelts". Parellel worlds behind barriers that tell a "what-if" story of human history. Each lostbelt is competing to grow and be the first to "sprout", displacing proper human history and becoming the new, true human history. In order for proper human history to be restored, each lostbelt needs to be eliminated.
    So effectively, you, the player, has turned into an invader, destroying entire alternate worlds, to save our own. But there is some justification- each world is, from our perspective, a different kind of dystopia, where the course of human progress has been stunted for various reasons. However, the human *denizens* of these Lostbelts don't understand that, as their world is the only one they've known, and quite a few Lostbelts are happy places where humans are cared for and protected, but as a consequence, have failed to develop as a species.
    So, thematically, FGO is a very pro-humanity story. Acknowledging humanity's faults while celebrating our heroes and the progress we've made from our primitive days. The music is inspiring because it's boldly proclaims the inherit value of human history, and the epic struggle to protect it.
    Also, as the game has grown in success, each chapter of the story has been released with higher and higher quality.

    I was searching for some time for reactions to FGO music.
    Spoiler alert: is F'ing amazing
    For a resume of just "what is Fate" (and a easy watch order) there is a video called "The essentials of Fate", 5 minutes of epicness giving broad strokes to the main series, prequel, spinoffs, ect, while in the background the sound of "Outbreak" follows, each time played in the style of the soundtrack of that specific Visual Novel/Anime/Videogame.
    It ends with the FGO version, where it had the best implementation, where instead of you getting dialogue of characters, in FGO part it's used for the rousing speech Jeanne D'Arc gives in the very first trailer for the game, to call for every Heroic Spirit you meet in your journey to save humanity.
    So yeah, I very much recommend "Outbreak" from FGO (Originally from Fate/Hollow Ataraxia).
    In general, every big battle them in FGO is pretty good, even some of the Map themes are awesome (like "Absolute Demonic Front: Mesopotamia")
    For a more metal style, there is "Mighty Wind" from the Visual Novel (Fate/Stay Night - Realta Nua 2007)

    Our lovely little bat boy is the more difficult fights because you can't spam your skills otherwise he'll take notice and punish you for it. But basically the reason why the music sounds like this is because he was trying to save humanity which kind of did try taking out ORT's heart and making it into a sun but it cost a lot of all of his people so he could become immortal to do so. So after a while he just kind of went insane. Unintentionally became a beast beasts are basically the evils that humanity must overcome they have a twisted love for humanity they don't want to kill them they want to help them grow. he forgotten beast because there is no human to remember him. So canonically he's the only beast that succeeded on wiping out humanity.

    The grand nature of the music clashing with the visuals is a frequent mood. FGO has multitudes of story beats that deserve this kind of grand chorus but its presentation is also a victim of its own medium. The visual novel storytelling is why FGO has had a decade of success, but the presentation of gameplay is stuck within the limits of a game engine designed for phones just as old.

    I absolutely would not call Fate Grand Order niche, let alone the Fate franchise as a whole. FGO is one of the highest grossing games of all time and one of the most popular gacha games. The reason that the song is underrated is because most likely, a high percentage of the playerbase are like me where they are too busy with the events and daily quests to actually play the main story, get to the lostbelts and reach this fight.
