The second movement takes me back to my childhood watching Sesame Street in the mid 70s looking at the sad flower. It wakes feelings of such longing. Even watching the original video on RUclips, the imagery takes you back in time.

Written by Vivaldi originally for the mandolin. But whether played on guitar, lute or mandolin, it is always such a joyous listening experience. This example is beautifully played. I fail to understand why the poor lady sitting down with viola had to sit through the whole concerto without having to play a note. Why didn’t she retire offstage until she was required in another piece of music. The lady must have been so embarrassed.
This concerto fits entirely inside the range of the baroque "traverso" flute in D with no need for transposition of any of the parts. If one wishes to play it on the baroque alto recorder all the concerto must be transpoded to a minor third above (into F major).

Fino, Darko. Malo si se udebljao. Pozdrav iz Njemacke. Zivjela nam lutnja, lauta, leut ...
My favourite as a child, kept on playing the record again and again, the guitar played by john williams 😊

Do the solist need an amp. to be heard clearly.
No... he could use his nails... (of course, breaking the holy rules)... and be heard. 😊
I have this same feeling and experience -- I too was a child watching Sesame Street from the early 1970's onwards.
Bellísimo !!!!
If it were up to me, the third movement, not the second, would have been the focal point of the concerto!

Wouldn't the solist be drowned out by the other instruments.

Actually written for the lute... mandolin hadn't been invented yet 😊
That was wonderful.
Bravo!
Thank you!
Exquisite.
Sublime.
Glad you like it!
Glazba za meditaciju i uživanje. Sa predivnim ansamblom...
Hvala!
I think the second movement is so iconic that in most people's minds it swallowed up the first and third movements in one big gulp - which is a pity!
I agree the entire piece is wonderful.
First movement from Baby Newton
