    Thank-you. I have a Casio Pathfinder PAW1300T. I didn't know you had to turn OFF Auto Receive to perform a manual receive. My auto receive activates successfully about once a week, or every three days. Thanks again. This is a great chronograph and have had it about seven years now. It will even Auto Receive when I'm in my tent camping in the back country. Very cool.

      Glad I could help! Yeah, I also love Casio watches. They are super reliable and my number one choice as a survival watch.

      i found out, i had barometric pressure change indicator turned on and manual says r/c receive does not work when the other one is on, kind of weird

      I guess both the receiver and the sensor will draw too much current for that tiny battery and the voltage may drop which may affect the readings and overall stability of that watch. So that's why they decided to limit the number of active features.

    Do you know if a signal of good quality can be received in Crete, Greece??

    • @ElectronicsComputers
      @ElectronicsComputers  4 года назад +1

      Unfortunately, Crete is out of range of German transmitter. Anyway, I think at night if you point your watch to the window on the north side it may work. It worked for me in Athens which is also slightly out of range.

      You can use an app called WWVB emulator by mokyuu. It works!

      Φίλε καλησπέρα. κατάφερες μήπως να πιάσεις σήμα; Δοκίμασε εφαρμογές οπως το clock wave. Αλλά καλύτερα είναι αν πιάνει από μόνο του. Κρήτη λογικά όμως είναι μακριά από το Γερμανικό Ρολόι στη Φρανκφούρτη.

    Damn, last night my new watch stated receiving a signal and it was showing L3 but I did not know what this meant so I pressed a button and it canceled. Hopefully it will auto receive the signal tonight again and I won't press any buttons.

    So L1,2 and 3 are the measurement of the distance for the synchronization range. Example: 1000ft, 2000ft, and 3,000ft. Interesting 🤔

      No, it indicates how strong the radio signal.

    Does anyone know if there is any way that a radio-control watch that does not receive, for example, the USA time signal from WWVB in Colorado can be modified by an electronics expert to receive the USA time signal even though the manufacturer of the watch did not give the watch WWVB signal reception capability when the watch was originally manufactured?

      What's the brand and model of your watch?

    • @michaelbarlow6610
      @michaelbarlow6610 3 года назад

      @@ElectronicsComputers . I own several different model radio-control watches, but the one I was referring to in my previous posted question is a Citizen Atessa ATP53-2703 analog, radio-control watch which Citizen released to their Japan market only and only receives the two Japan time signals from the Fukushima and Kyushu radio time signal transmitters.

    Do you(or anyone) know if it will be possible in some way to find my lost watch in or around my house using its radio capabilities. Its a Casio Edifice watch and it must be somewhere in my yard or house, but I've searched myself blue!

    What’s the model of this watch?

  • @casual_citizen
    @casual_citizen 5 лет назад +1

    Why would you need to calibrate the time on a digital watch once or twice per month? They are so accurate you wouldn't have to do it more than once per year, because by then it might be 1-2 minutes too slow or too fast. That's in a whole year.

    • @michaelbarlow6610
      @michaelbarlow6610 5 лет назад

      @ Casual Citizen. After 1 year, a standard quartz crystal, non-time signal reception (i.e., non-GPS or non-radio-control) watch or clock is inaccurate by 3 minutes because a standard quartz crystal oscillator is only accurate to +/-- 15 seconds per month.

      @ jonghun lee. You need to put your radio-control watch in a window at nighttime and place the watch so that its' internal antenna is pointing towards Colorado because the USA time calibration signal is broadcast from WWVB in Ft. Collins, Colorado which is near Boulder , Colorado. The watch's internal antenna is either at the 12 o'clock, 6 o'clock or 9 o'clock position below the watch dial.
