@@Joey-Sensei aside from Osaka po, what other cities or prefectures maximize the 5 year contract? Thank you for your quick response. I am learning a lot in your videos.
Applied last year and imho in general they highly consider those with classroom teaching experience or licensed teachers. I am not saying that those who do not have teaching experience have zero chance but apparently chances are very very slim for your application to be considered.
Nagiging mas competitive na lately ang apllication dahil na din po siguro sa dami ng applicants every year. Kaya nga po inaadvise namin sa mga aspiring applicants especially those with no educ degrees or teaching experience, they have to work on their credentials for a better chance of getting accepted.
@@Joey-Sensei that's true that's why slimmer chance talaga if no classroom teaching experience sa dami ng teachers na nag-aapply. And also because of the huge number of applicants, I think the screening committee picks out mostly those with solid teaching experience. It is just practical for them to do so.
Pero syempre po, depende din sa napeperceive ng screening panel na strengths at potential ng applicant. Kasi minsan meron din newly graduated na more promising for the position than those with years of experience based on the documents/application reqyirements submitted. Though ayun nga, pwedeng slimmer yung chances nila. Pero, just like what we have been saying, kapag nakalusot sa first screening, kahit papano, mas may control na si applicant to get through the 2nd stage.
@@Joey-Sensei exactly po as you mentioned slimmer chances and "minsan" may fresh grad na nacoconsider. Yun po talaga yung challenge ang makadating sa 2nd stage to prove you are qualified pero unfortunately for those lacking implicit required credentials especially teaching experience most likely no chance po. You just confirmed my point po.
@@Joey-Sensei pero nevertheless if you have the time energy and resources then still try. Pero if it will take a lot from you and you dont have classroom teaching experience then I advice you to just focus your efforts on other opportunities. Also, out of more than 3000 applicants last year I think less than 20 lang ang nabigyan ng offer? So that alone tells you that credentials will really matter kasi nakakabaliw po magscreen ng libo libong applications so by default you will base the initial cut on the most important credentials = classroom teaching experience.
Hi Sir @Joey Sensei, Im a bachelor graduate but non-teaching (entrepreneur graduate) ~ I don't know what those training I had to undergo before pursuing ALT. May I ask an advice from you what those thing I have and need to do?
It differs among placement cities and prefectures. Yung iba, may subsidy. Yung iba, tutulungan ka lang maghanap ng housing and they serve as guarantors. Still others, ikaw bahalang maghanap.
For JET Ph participants, I haven't heard a case po. Per advise of the JICC, you have to wait for at least three months before your dependents can come over. You can, however, start processing their papers as soon as you arrive.
@@Joey-Sensei thanks for your reply. I have more questions po. I hope you have time to answer: 1. Worth it po ba ipagpalit and DepEd teaching position sa JET ALT position? 2. Can you still save a lot even if you have your dependents with you in Japan? 3. Are there any future plans for ex-ALTs? Like job offers for them after the JET program? Thank you so much po kung masasagot po ninyo. God bless po. :)
@Teacher Rhiss 1. I know a lot of Pinoy JETs who were in DepEd for five years or more (me included). Yung iba nga, they were being eyed to be HTs or supervisors na, but they still chose JET. 2. Depende sa lifestyle nyo kung paano magiging enough yung JET salary nyo. If ever naman, the spouse can still work part time, or fulltime if they have their own working visa. 3. Sariling sikap lang din po sa paghahanap ng new companies after JET.
hello po! i just want ko ask if the applicants can choose which prefecture and school they would like to be assigned or is it the government that will choose for them? thank you po!
They will ask you your top 3 prefecture and/or city preferences. However, there is a 99% possibility of you not being placed in any of your preferences. JET will assign you depending on the need or request of each contracting organization.
Hello po. I want to ask a question sana. Sa school credentials or TOR, when I get mine from the school nka staple po cyah kasi , is it okay or do I have to get a new one na hindi talaga nka staple?
Good day po. Ask lang po sir if there will be a vacation during the program, i mean if there's part in the benefit to go back or have a vacation in our country (ph) like yearly or whenever in the contract? Thankyou sir!
Yes po. You can have your vacation during winter, spring, and summer breaks and even holidays. I know a lot of JET ALTs who travel a lot during those breaks.
Hi Joey sensei! I just wanted to ask would it be okay to submit a pdf copy and not a hard copy for a letter of reference? Thank you so much for the informative vid. This helps us a lot.
I believe you have to print out the signed letter and submit it together with two photocopies in case it is impossible for you to get a wet signed letter. In the previous batches, though, if the applicant advances to the next stage, they screening committee would ask for the original (the letter with wet signature).
JETs receive their first salary depending on the policies of the contracting organization and their arrival date. Some JETs who arrive on the first or 2nd week of the month receive their first salary on the payday of that month. Others, the following month.
Again it depends on the ALT's arrival date. Since Aug is summer break in Japan, there are no classes yet until Sept, which is the start of the 2nd term. For those who arrive in other months, they usually have about 2weeks for trainings and settling preps before starting work at their respective placement schools.
Sir Joey ask ko lang. Yung TOR pala na available ko now is may remark na "For board exam" ask ko lang if pwidi kaya to ma submit? Thank you po sana mapansin nyo 😇

I've heard Osaka Pref only allows max of 3yrs. This needs confirmation though.
