I found it much easier to leave the cable connected and disconnect the bayonet mounts for the lights, then swap the lights and cable assembly with the new assembly. Saves having to pop out the liner and stick your arm into the gap, then fish around for the connection blindly.
I accidentally unclipped that piece you said not too 😅.. it seems secure with it unclipped, any risk just leaving it? What’s the process if I want to re clip it looks like I would have to remove a lot
