@CaptainLettuce I have one spool with 50lb braid and one with 8lb fluoro. You can always add a small wire trace onto the fluoro if there’s a chance of a pike. Try the nitrinol wire as this can be tied.
@@Vildmark yeah same actually haha, was planning on putting the new line on my second spool so I can swap them on the reel whenever I need. Also yeah I already use wire trace. Problem is the 40lb line unless throwing my heavier lures it doesn't go very far

Hi, which tip would you recommend for canal and small river lure fishing. Im using 3g to maybe 10g maximum weights but worried the green tip one might be too soft as i do use chebs sometimes with weedless hook
@vildmark I've opted for a fluro leader today for the first time also, 20lb braid to 6lb fluro leader, tied jig direct to leader. Hopefully get some stripeys on the bank. Looks like you've put the fish rig 180 through its paces
I normal use a short titanium 6lb leader on a 8lb fluoro in case there’s a bigger pike around. That stuff is good as it can be tied and doesn’t need to be crimped.

I just bought the bigger version of this, might get this one too 😂
Yeah the fish rig max is a great rod.
What line are you using ? I've got a 0.3mm braided line on it but i think its preventing me from casting too far
I’ve got a 10lb braid with a 8lb fluoro leader.
@@Vildmark thank you for your response. Yeah mines def too big 40lb haha, picking up some much lighter 12-14lb like today. 0.1-1.2mm instead of .3mm

@CaptainLettuce have a look at this wire. www.cahiranitinol.co.uk/product/nitinol
Hi Buddy, what fixed spool reel would you recommend for something like this? 2000 size?
This is a 3000 but the R&R 1000 is perfect for this rod.
Good review. Do they do a float/feeder version?

I’d go with the green tip in those conditions myself. It’s the tip I normally use.
@Vildmark OK mate thank you I'll give it a try 😎
