    Yeah the inside still does stink..how would you clean the inside? I’ve seen videos with a mixture of dish soap baking soda and water; like a sand solution to scrub out the inner

    How do you clean fhe oiled leather? Used a washe rag with a but of dawn to try and get a spot out and made the spot worse!

    • @ksajak
      @ksajak Месяц назад +1

      Get some saddle soap and try that. Once dry go over with conditioner. Esp on oiled leather. If you use something like dawn dish soap it'll take all the oils out of the leather leaving it very dry so conditioning after cleaning is a must! Hopefully you're able to get the spot out with the saffle soap and some scrubbing/scraping then finish with a good conditioner. Good luck!

    Can you use leather conditioner on suede? I was under the impression that you cant.

    • @davidknuckles6330
      @davidknuckles6330 9 месяцев назад +8

      You can; usually after doing a soap, it dries crunchy, so using conditioner helps restore some of the oil moisture stripped with cleaning.
      Personally, I've messed up suede by putting it directly on like in the video (it absorbs too quick and makes a dark spot that you can't really get out) so even if it worked here I wouldn't be quick to do the same.
      What works best in my experience is to wait until the suede is fully dry, then get a soft horsehair brush, a long bristled rectangular one, and apply a light amount of conditioner directly to it. (I use lexol 4, which is an animal based conditioner you can get at Walmart, and just spray a bit onto my fingertips) Work the cream into the bristles, give the brush some quick swipes on something clean and dry to prep it, and then, in long light strokes, brush your suede.
      Suede is kinda like those pillows with the sequins that flip when you run your hand across them; one way you brush it and the fibers lay flat, the other way and they stand up, and you can see the difference in real time when you do it. When you brush, brush in back and forth with the skinny of the brush, and brush to push the fibers from laying to standing, which should look like the color going from dark to light.
      Key is softly goes it. It will take time. But if you get after it with light long strokes, and you followed the process, it will have a light glow of a sheen, will feel supple to the hand, and will have a consistent color throughout with no apparent splotches or patches.
      Hope this helped!
