Sad But True has some of the coolest and creative drum fills ever put to record. Excellent stuff, man. Great job recreating that Black Album kick drum sound. Nearly flawless.
Well I bought all that over a timespan of many years and some things I bought used. It adds up to a lot. I use a total of 22 mics and a couple of those are not the cheapest, like the shure beta 91. All the mic cables and mic stands alone cost about 1500€. The shellset is only a Tama Imperialstar tho, on which I changed the finish myself and upgraded the hardware. But everything together, drums, cymbals, hardware, mics, cables, mixer, buttkicker, ect… I would estimate about 20k€
Thats just how those Hi Hats sound. Theres not that much of a secret or trick about it. Zildjian Dyno Beat Hi Hats for top and bottom. They are extremely thick and heavy and loud and sound terrible when in open position. But when the top hat lies loose on the bottom hat they sound perfect.
My favorite Metallica Album
