I will be trying out the method of wrapping my cakes and allowing them to set instead of icing right after filing the cake. Gonna try to make a batch of cakes and freeze ahead of time.
What happened to the video of the 2 tiered blues clues cake that said Mason on it? I've been looking everywhere for it. I've learned so much from that video and now I can't find it. Please help!
This is the only Blue's Clues cake tutorial I filmed. I didn't film that Mason cake. Maybe it was in another video but I don't remember ever filming that.
Fabulous cake Karolyn. I haven't tried your technique for cutting out the figures yet but will be using your videos for reference. Thank you so much from Ireland ❤️
Did u cover the cake in fondant? Or in buttercream? If u did it in buttercream how did u get the color blue? If u didnt do it in buttercream but in fondant. Could u do this cake in buttercream?
Love it. I hope my daughter’s Winnie The Pooh baby shower cake comes out just as good. Trace, paint, and stick- great technique. New Subscriber here. Great job.
Hi! I really like the design of the cake, simple and its awesome🤩 very professional, it really shows your passion. by the way, what is the size of the cake?😊
Karolynn, I love your kakes. Matter of fact, they are awesome. As far as the price you charge. People need to understand that you have to take into account ingredients for the product and your time. Plus, how many the cake will feed. That sum's it up. If they don't like your prices, they are welcome to go elsewhere. I'm self taught and had to give away a few cakes. My thinking behide that decision was; this is something I personally would not pay for, so I'm not charging for it! I have to do a Misa Deathnote figure for a cake next month so I knew that I needed to stroll your page. Loves of love from Alabama!
Hi Karolyn, You do such detailed beautiful work. I have learned some new techniques watching you. I wanted to share something that may save you lots of time per order. Icing Images sales an edible image printer and cricut bundle. You can print your Blues' Clues then cricut will cut out the images. Cricut will cut fondant or the edible image papers. You can also just load image to cricut and cut from fondant if you don't need edible images. Just sharing just info. Please do continue to share your videos. Have a blessed day.
Beautiful cake.🤩🥰 I love the way you did the rainbow puppy 🐶, How much time in advance do you use to do that kind of decoration? Thank you for the videos.
Amazing work that requires a lot of patience 🙈I learnt an alternative way of making stand up toppers from the usual print out rice paper pic then stick it on fondant add toothpicks and dry... will be trying it out this festive season with my reindeer ears 🤗 and other parts...thank u Karol, I've learnt a lot from u
I learn so much in every video of yours. Amazing detail. I’ve done the fondant figures but not in this type of detail. I simply have cut out the fondant and put the edible image. So, this is a new technique to try. I also love the toothpick used to help secure a fondant figure!!! Bcz, sometimes my stuff was sliding. Thanks so much for your videos super amazing and helpful!!!! ❤😂
I make them thick for 2 reasons... 1. I can add depth detail, like I did in the soap and shovel. 2. I can get a skewer through the piece so it will stand up on its own on the top.
Thank you so much for this detailed video on how to make each character. I don’t have an airbrush equipment. I love watching your videos. They are so informative and you give us lots of tips. Thank you again and always stay blessed. ❤🙏🏽
Super cute…I didn’t know Blues Clues was still a thing…You can do it with powders. I had to do 10 my little pony characters and was there for like 6 hours..I don’t know why I’m so scared to use my airbrush machine. Clearly it would have saved me a bunch of time.
Great and detailed tutorial!!! Did you use 2" tall cake pans? Here's a general question I have been wanting to ask you. How do you determine if you want to use an edible image or a handmade 2D image? I figure it depends on the look you are going for. I think it really pops out with the 2D images 😍
With names like this, if they are going on the side of the cake and has to dry with a curve, sometimes I put it on the cake right away. With the Tylose added to the fondant, it dries pretty quick. So I wouldn't need to dry it for longer than 24 hours.
This was my first video I saw of yours and I watched all of them and now I’m on a victory lap lol do u do these the same day that you do the cake can you do it days before u assembled the cake?
Okay you gotta get some kind of trophy for that! 😂 I make them up to 3 days in advance and store them in a ziplock bag if I don't want them to dry hard before I put them on the cake.
@@KarolynsKakes I have only made 8 cakes since u started cake decorating and my first 6 cakes where so back, I found your videos and people can’t believe how good the last 2 where, I always say the drastic improvement is from when I started watching your videos, I know I say this a lot but thank you and I keep commenting on all your videos to push it through the algorithm, I know u get tired of me 😁
Great work! Id love to see how you do the cake that was in the background in the fridge-it has sectioned in a 4 piece design and had a Spider-Man part.
Thank you! To make that, I had to use a tool that I got about 15 years ago, which has been discontinued. So when I have to use that tool, I can't film the video because people will want to get it and it's not sold anymore!😢
If you enjoy my tutorials, I'd be so grateful if you could Buy Me A Coffee! ☕🙏 www.buymeacoffee.com/KarolynsKakes

This cake is iced in buttercream. The blue color is a tiny bit of Americolor Royal Blue added to white icing:

Beautiful cake.🤩🥰 I love the way you did the rainbow puppy 🐶, How much time in advance do you use to do that kind of decoration? Thank you for the videos.
Thank you Yris! I made it a day in advance so it had time to stiffen up a little and would hold its shape when I stood it up.
Beautiful as usual Love u videos !!!❤🎉

I just love this cake! Could you tell me what color blue you used for the background of fondant name? Thank you so much!
Hey Tracy! It's navy blue. Here's how I make it. And thank you so much for the coffee!! 💜🙏 ruclips.net/video/DxmTrlUCISU/видео.html
Love it beautiful...it's based on the new movie coming out... awesome ❤️🥰
I didn’t know that there was a movie! 🤷🏻♀️🤣
With all of the time and detail you put into your magnificent work, I totally understand your pricing. So worth it.
Thank you so much!

How adorable 🤩🥰
That’s beautiful! I was wondering why you made your pieces a bit thick but makes sense why you did that!
I make them thick for 2 reasons...
1. I can add depth detail, like I did in the soap and shovel.
2. I can get a skewer through the piece so it will stand up on its own on the top.
Did you have to repeat the colors on the puppy or were you able to achieve it perfectly the first time? Can you show us slower in a separate video?
The only color I repeated was the red at the end because I felt like it wasn't dark enough.
That’s such a cute cake!
How did you get this color blue? Did you just use a regular royal blue in a small amount? 😀
The light blue icing and the Blue dog are both Royal blue, but the dog has more coloring than the icing.
How adorable !!
Hi Karolyn. You are an amazing decorator. I look forward to watching your videos and learn so much about techniques. Thank you
I am a self taught decorator I can do 3 d figures but struggle with these how long do u leave the fondant sit before u trace?
Usually about 15-20 minutes until it’s not soft and won’t drag when I cut it.
Thank you so much for this detailed video on how to make each character. I don’t have an airbrush equipment. I love watching your videos. They are so informative and you give us lots of tips. Thank you again and always stay blessed. ❤🙏🏽
Fun video! That rainbow dog was great, I don't have an airbrush gun but it looks very useful. I enjoy all of your videos they are so helpful.
Beautiful 😍
Adorable!!
your talent is never ending. how long do you let you fondant set before you trace and cut it out?
Usually for 15-20 minutes to give the tylose powder enough time to stiffen it up.
Super cute…I didn’t know Blues Clues was still a thing…You can do it with powders. I had to do 10 my little pony characters and was there for like 6 hours..I don’t know why I’m so scared to use my airbrush machine. Clearly it would have saved me a bunch of time.
Based on his new movie coming out
OMG that's a lot of time! You definitely can do it with dusts, but an airbrush cuts the time dramatically.
This cake came out perfect like always!!!
🥰💜🙏🏼
I love the Airbrush technique for the colourful topper, thanks for sharing 🥰
Where can I Find the picture of blue clues?
It's linked in the description under "PICS I USED". 😊
Great and detailed tutorial!!!

I bake in 2” high pans. And, yes, the fondant characters look a lot better! (IMHO)
@@KarolynsKakes I totally agree ♥️♥️♥️

So therapeutic to watch you decorated cakes ❤ such a beautiful creation.

Another adorable cake. How long do you let your fondant sit after you roll it out to cut your letters? You make it look so easy.
At least 15-20 minutes so it has time for the Tylose to stiffen it up.
What if u using just fondant how long should u leave on counter to harden up
It turned out gorgeous 😍❤️
Thanks girl!
An airbursh machine is on my birthday wishlist! I love the playful look of this cake. Awesome video 🎉
