I wanted to share this Schlage keyed entry, not to spread fear, but to help educate the general public as to why secondary locks like deadbolts along with alarm systems are so important today. Many of the low cost door locks are low security and should never be used alone.
When we pick and/or manipulate KIK cylinders, much of the general public don't know, that is the same lock that's inside their doorknob.
I can only hope this helps.
Here's the link I mentioned.

Bill B. is a GREAT guy! Willing to help anyone out. Good tip on the back set and the strike plate. Nice job with the picking.
Thanks Gantry, he sure is. Having a pro. locksmith to bug is awesome. He knows his stuff. I wish him much success.
Nice picking Al! And you are right, Schlage is a great way to go. Great tip on the latch that a lot of folks overlook, I've had to adjust many latches around the buildings at work to correct this exact issue! Appreciate another great SLS Al! Thanks! And congrats to the Paclock recipient 👍🏻🔓🔓
Thanks so much, yes, this is very simple but as you know it's wide spread.
I have just got in to lock picking about a month and a half ago. I just can't stop watching all of the informational content I can get my hands on. Have to admit, I just discovered your channel recently and have already watched a big portion of your content. Really like your step by step approach and explaining things for dummies like me. As long as you keep putting out content, I'll be a subscriber. Kudos!
You just made my day Chris, thank you. I will do my best to bring you great content. Please stay tuned
Great information!!
Schlage is a much better choice!!
👍🐈👍👏🐾
Thanks, yes it is
That's a great set up for showing how to pick a kik in a knob set up. Nicely picked and explained. The tip about the strike plate is excellent, cheers
Thank you very much. I wanted it to look professional or at least proper and I think we did that
Yeah I would definitely pick that over the kwikset
Yes, especially when the prices are comparable. Or why not spend the extra buck. I will say they have something special with the Kwikset smart key system. At least it's a step in the right direction
awesome video
Great demo of a typical door set.
Good pick! Sweet display! And AWESOME INTRO! It's cool how the skulls spin around and show your logo! U.S.
Thank you Dwayne, just keeping it fresh
I apologize if I already asked you but do you truly live in the U.S. ?
@@AlbertLebel yes live in Jeffersonville, IN
Dwayne StaSHIT Fantastic !! Stay tuned
@@AlbertLebel I always do Brother! Your channel is the shit! Keep it up Big Al and thanks for all your hard work! It won't be long before u hit 1k subs and I will keep watching and telling all my friends about your AWESOME channel!! Thanks again! !
Another great video, 👍🔓🔓👍🔐
The Primus is an AMAZING Lock but pricey.
Really helpful video Albert, & if course a pin perfect job on the lock, Have a fantastic week.
Thanks you Daz
Intro was pretty cool.
wonderful demonstration thanks mate : )
Thanks, sure looks better with a proper display
Thanks for the kind words brother, awesome video buddy.
Bill this is awesome brother, thank you. Sure does look better than what I had
Kwikset is the Masterlock of door knobs.
Great latch tip Al.✌ Our friend Bill Bacardi helps everyone, no questions asked.👍 Nice picking and clicking. When visiting the States, I seen Kwikset everywhere. :/
Thanks Don, yes he does. Ya, Kwikset are everywhere out this way. Like ML
I will have to get my hands on some of those Keyed entry doorknobs because they look like an interesting challenge, nice one ;-)
Thanks, yes, they are super popular around here, almost too popular. But coupled with a dead bolt their ok
great video thank you
Thanks you Dana, please stay tuned
Very nice video. I love the doorknob stand. I been wanting to make one myself someday. The schlage locks definitely seems better for security then quikset. Have a great day!
Thank you, I made my first display with a door hole saw from Harbor Freight, I just didn't use the right wood
Love the new intro big al
Thanks Dean, just keeping it fresh
Great tip on the latch, I’ll have to check out my doors and see if they work correctly.
Thanks, yes, you may be surprised as to how many seen this and checked their doors LOL.
Great informative vid Al well done keep up the great work/vids. :)
Thanks Danny, I will try, please stay tuned
Nice video Al.
Only thing I don"t like about the Schlage knob is it always feels unlocked even when it is locked,
I have been called out for many lock outs because of that feature. Otherwise much better than a Kwikset. 👍👍👍👍🧡
Great SLS pick, Al! Really informative video on a lock I see EVERYWHERE. Congrats to this week's winner!
Thanks Gus, same here, that's why I felt the need to share this. These knobs are are on a majority of homes around here
Love the new intro and content. I think the Schlage cores have some drill protection but I've yet to see a comparably priced Kwikset with drill protection.
Thank you for picking me to share a logo Paclock with. Go U.S.
Thank you, ya, I think Kwikset uses it's name like ML but until it's recent smart key system their locks are pretty sad. I tried raking this this for a while with no luck. And it's my pleasure to send your Paclock out, I appreciate your support and feedback
That's a great tip about the latch Albert! I wonder just how many viewers ran immediately to their front doors to check their locks! I know I did... :-)
I was thinking the same thing. So many people want to hear that second click.
That intro is the most entertaining I've seen in a while :) Good info in the video too
Thank you, just trying to stay fresh
Another great SLS keep it up Big Al. Love watching you open any lock. Keep making great videos and I'll keep watching 🔒🔓
I sure will, and I will hold you to that my friend. Thank you
I work on these almost daily. Half of the time the trim is falling off when you take it out of the box!
I can see why. When I was done I disassembled it and it is made very cheap. I put it all back together as I will donate all my used items to a thrift store.
Beautiful lock mate , we dony use them type of locks much in Northern Ireland , its more Euro cylinders but still still a very nice lock
Thanks, yes and it's nice to see the euro cylinders when they come around this way also.
@@AlbertLebel if you want euro cylinders i can post a bunch of them to you tomorrow if you want
this is embarrassing, i never installed that other plate on any of my doors, thanks for the heads up.
I hope your kidding. You don't want a wooden hole holding your door shut. I also use extra long screws to go past the trim wood into the framing.
@@AlbertLebel
i was referring to the little curved plate that your holding at 2:27 in the video. i never knew what it was for so i never installed that part.
Really digging the stock lock Sunday. I don’t know about others, but that is EXACTLY the kind of stuff I got started on so a lot of practicality in seeing these. At least here in the U.S. I realize Europe is different. Also curious why this wasn’t rakable. I suppose it was the diverse bitting?
Thanks so much John, yes, the bitting beat the rake. Raking works best on flat bitted locks which is why SPP is so important. I know rakes have their place but if that's all you can do you wont get into really good locks or many locks at all. Please stay tuned for S.L.S.
I love that set up Bill made for you. That will be my next project to make. Good tip on the latch.
Do the Schlage knobs have security pins? I say this because my Lishi SC1 doesn’t open them. Of course l may not be using the tool properly. BTW, l changed my photo because my ugly mug was frightening potential subscribers 😊
Thanks Jack, I understand, I have a cat also LOL. I took it apart and the driver pins are actually a T pin shape but upside down and it was made so bad the springs act like a pin in the shorter pin stacks.
I love to see how different your lock set ups are over there, euro cylinders are almost the only way over here these days 👍🏼
Thanks leyton, it's the same way around too
I'm loving your suggestion on the "shotgun" ground down Schlage key to fill in the bottom of the keyway, Big Al. It's made it so much less stressful.
Oh yes, That works great. It just keeps the pick from sliding down into the gutter. I don't use it all the time but it sure does help.
Master BIG Al, you must give us a peak behind the curtains ....
HOW do you make such Video MAGIC as is your "fresh" intros and extros !!!
What tools and spells do you use???
DC
Actually it’s a Fox. It is also my last name and part of my channel name. Please visit and subscribe. Thanks 🦊
I like your intro. Kwiksets are junk! Definitely go with a schlage! Hey do you have any wood working skills? It's not about the door.
Thanks Wes, no not really, why ?. I mean I can cut and drill
@@AlbertLebel well you have seen people with those wooden pick stands that has the holes drilled out on the top and bottom that holds bunch of picks. People paint them their logo colors. I can't think at the moment but a lot of guys have them that have channels
