I wasted my life in Education...this comes after soo many years Go for skill based wrks like MBBS , ONLINE BUSSINES and others ...in the end money wins
I am sorry but I do not agree with your comment. Academia is one of the highest skill based work out there if not the most. Yes, the environment is very competitive but after a PhD, there are so many opportunities outside academia. One can do a business post PhD too if they desire. Although, I do agree with you on the aspect of money. PhD students are paid a very meager stipend globally. To top that, the salary post PhD is not in line with our qualifications. Personally, that's a small cost to pay to pursue your passion. It would be great to be paid more and researchers all over the world our demanding that. But, wasted life in education ? I disagree completely.
Sir first age is matter .U told after phd there are so many opportunities but there also compitition. One do pg then phd then post doc .Now his /her age is 32 .but till he/ she don't find any permanent job.its better to do job rather than phd
Hey, Im a doctor, and I did my MBBS from JIPMER pondicherry, and graduated first class. I just wanted to say that I was always curious about the deeper science, but we only think about how to make ends meet, and treat a disease, here. Working in a hospital all day is mentally and physically draining and about 70% is dull work. I would always sit by the bedside, wondering how my life wouldve been if i had taken Science instead. I know youre going through a hard time for jobs and money, but trust me, once you settle that, devoting your life to a true intellectual pursuit is the highest way of life, even philosophically speaking.
Thank you so much for saying all these things because I am giving net exam since 2018 but didn't qualify. It makes you so depressed and inferior from others. But after watching this video I thought one exam can't decide your worth.
I don't think net exam is a barrier in any way to get into Better phd position/ getting position in academia. Its just a exam that gives you one way to get into phd and like net there are lot of exams.
Sir u r truly an inspiration for all... whenever I saw any video of urs...it fills with lots of enthusiasm to do something that make our future better 🙏

Here, I see some people commenting against research. I would like to tell them, if you guys don't have patience then that's the fault of your circumstances. Society thinks children are their investments and a goose laying golden eggs. You are a victim of that thinking. Great things need Time. Money is not a problem these days... but people cannot accept to live a minimalistic life with meagre amount and high expectations from themselves, its entirely the fault of how u are conditioned.
See I do not see a fault with a fact that researchers/students globally our demanding for higher salaries/stipends. We do deserve it. Coming from a privilege, money might not be that important, but for a researcher from a humble background, passion alone would not drive them to pursue excellence in research. So yes, we do need to manage our expectations but not so much that the society starts taking us for granted.
Is it right to switch in a same project from a CSIR lab to other CSIR lab? In first one, I am working as a PA-II but now I have my degree and in other one there is a vacancy of Senior Project Associate, asking for PhD as an essential qualification, however the project is same. Is it right to switch there or should directly apply for a postdoc or RA or teaching? In a bit confusing condition, kindly suggest.
Thanku sir ...once again you helped me to realise that I am on the right track... First of all sorry for watching your video so late which I usually don't do🤪 but due to some reasons I couldn't... Secondly I can personally relate my career life with this video and sometimes you need some sort of affirmation & you have always helped me in that.. I also believe the same...any competitive exam...marks or tag of an institution can't decide the capability of a person... Thank you once again sir...👍😊🥰

Sir why you choose medicinal chemistry over organic in phd. My goal is to become entrepreneur in pharma industry. Now iam preparing for csir. Doing phd in medical chemistry is useful for me too reach my goal sir.
Why did you leave the private sector for academia, sir? The goal of this inquiry is to learn more about the many employment opportunities and career advancement after completing a PhD in organic chemistry or medicinal chemistry. If it's not a private reason and it can be shared with the public, would you kindly explain why you decided to pursue a career in academia?
That's a good question. The reasons are quite a few and unfortunately cannot be discussed here. I will try to dedicate a video on this topic. But, majorly it has to do with curtailed freedom to work on open source projects.
@@yugen467O You can see the first 1 min of the video to know what I am doing. If research is your calling, you should definitely pursue it. If you desire to settle early in the career and have solid finances then research might not be the best choice.
I have given PhD entrance exam recently and got selected... In interview, when committee members saw my topic of presentation they reacted to me like hell.. even didn't listen my presentation and committee contantly pressurising me to write application tht i m ready to do research under supervisor they provide me and I denied bcoz i wanted to do research under other supervisor and he's also ready to take me, he has 1vacant seat,, but committee members contantly pressurising me and said no u have to do PhD in his or her supervision only ( maybe bcoz of some politics) and i said i have to think about it, i can't write application at this time.. and as a result they rejected me ... Selected one student only by giving more marks... How could they do that? Only for their politics students like me suffer a lot. I don't know what should I do whom should I discuss? So that's why I am commenting here sir 😢 really feeling bad bcoz i have given my 100% .
I am sorry to hear that. But, unfortunately politics is part of every professional career and research is no exception. If everyone colluded to force you into picking a supervisor, definitely that institution is not worth to pursue a PhD.
