That would bring more PVE players together and give them a way to reliably farm Acid, while also making them work for it and getting them engaged. Especially since PVP players already have the Frontier battles to fight over resources, PVE players need a way to get Acid too.
@@trandel_elent Interesting, but it doesn't sound like we really disagree. It may just be a difference in perception of what "enjoying the combat" means. It's seen as a grind when it's not enjoyable. You're missing the point. First of all, now you're just trading one form of RNG grinding for another. And second, that still does not resolve the issue of why Acid as a resource is treated so differently than every other resource in the game. Third, it also does not change the fact that if more items keep getting added that also requires Acid as players progress this issue is just going to get worse as the game goes on.
@@trandel_elent i see your point, it should be able to be targeted to be looted in strongholds like crystals/parts are, and should not be included in ingot crafting.
@@kfs3525 Yeppers. I would be totally fine if it was part of the reward pool like all the other scrape items are. Just having some towns or Strongholds that have a high chance of that being there would be good enough. At least we'd have someplace to farm and know we'd be walking away with plenty of Acid to make it worth it. Or like I have suggested in another post, let us use fuel as a material that we can craft Acid from. Again, it would give us something we'd still have to grind somewhat for, but it would be a reliable grind.
Im at lone wolf wastes, enemies tend to drop acid pretty often in 6 - 7s , human enemies tend to drop weapon powder, but I do Agree, acid is used on way too many recipes, specially aluminium and tungsten, which is bad. On the electricity thing, tbh I see it as pretty poor desing decision, its better to just have a single player hive, cause your house cant sustain the deviants, even with 2 of the best generators(that is just 60 power) Game has a lot , and I mean A LOT of potential, its fun atm and can be improved, but as far as I see it ,the main problem is that it will die if it doesnt have any actual end game content, cause we`re getting to the last part, and if they plan to just do as diablo 4 did(each season you just start over) then I cant see this going forward much longer.
I agree about the end game for sure. This being closed beta we honestly have no idea what they might have planned for that and there's still plenty of time for them to get content ready for it. But like you said, if the game does release without anything for players to do at max level it's not going to go over well at all. I'm actually ok with the electrical system if it does increase to 60. At least at 60 it does open up a few more options at your personal base. Having a limit like that makes us players actually have to think about what we want to prioritize. And it makes Hives more important for things we can't do at our own base. A limit of 40 is just a little too harsh though so I'm glad to hear that I was right about the increase from the large generators 😂. As for the acid, I've been thinking about it and one way you could fix that would be to change Workshop defense from PvP content to PvE. There are already Frontier battles for PvP players to fight over, so make the Workshops group PvE content that players could work together to farm Acid 👍. That way we still have to work for it, but we have a reliable way to do so, and it would encourage people to cooperate more together. It could be like public events so that whenever someone starts it others can join and help and get rewards depending on how long they were there.
Well, it is closed beta and the Dev's have already made tons of changes so hopefully they will figure out a better way to handle this too. Overall this is honestly the only negative video I've ever done about the game so I am hopeful that it will work out lol.
Yep, exactly. And when you look at it, Acid is also one of, if not the only resource that we have been using the whole game so far from start and are still using it even 30+ levels later. And that's what I'm afraid of. That the developers are just going to keep throwing in more items that need Acid as we keep leveling and progressing.
I spent some money on undawn and this took me no where in the game as i was playing since day one i bought the battlepass and i spent couple more on other items I hope they are talking truth about the free to play and they must listen to the negative opinions about the game I also assume that the weapons blueprints will be a thing in the future the more stars on your gun the more powerful you will be purple and gold and blue is a a thing that is must be like blueprint per full claim rewards must guaranteed from the boss fights this will make things easy like in warframe you get relics and you smash relics to get what blueprint you want in order to build a specific character I'm playing this game with cautious as I believe that there's nothing for free hope they make there game not pay to win and only sell cosmetics for real life money
If Path of Exile can survive and thrive for years and years only using cosmetics and being F2P this game can do. As long as the game is fun and engaging people will spend money on it and support it.
You can find monsters anywhere, the problem is that Acid isn't a guaranteed drop. You could kill a dozen monsters and only have 2 or 3 of them drop Acid 😅.
@@kasper2zero283 And just how long do your "runs" go for? I'm up in Chalk Peak and I am farming for like 30+ mins at a time and barely getting 30-60 Acid at times.
About 30-40 minutes.. go to holt town and do a lap around it.. I kill everything.. it's a waste of time to do the elevator in the bank tho so I skip that. It's big enough area for me to clear from south to north and everything respawns. So I make my way back south. Just did a quick clear and got like 120. I would use a crossbow as well it saves on ammo.
@@kasper2zero283 "I would use a crossbow as well it saves on ammo." And this is yet again a sign that something is wrong. When players avoid every other weapon in the game and only use 1 weapon so they can grind a resource just to make the ammo for the other weapons something isn't right. That's just a sign of bad and backward design as I am saying. I don't mind working for a resource, just give us players a viable option other than "Don't use guns and go spend almost an hour grinding mobs just so you can make enough ammo to use guns." Again, I think turning the Workshop defense into a group PVE event would be a much better option for many reasons. You still have to work at it but it's something that would be a guaranteed way to get Acid. It would also encourage players to group up and cooperate with each other to clear it and get their Acid. Make it a public event, the person who starts it gets extra since they are the ones who used the permit to start it, but other people can teleport in to help, and depending on how long they are there helping they get more rewards.
Another issue I see are the crossbow bolts, which for 5 bolts you need a ton of materials. Also, I dont know why the crossbow does huge dmg to mobs instead of any pistol, rifle.... For sure the mats need rebalancing as well as many other things........
I'm okay with how the crossbow works overall. They totally do massive damage but with the downside that they are far slower to shoot and do require more pinpoint accuracy to use effectively. So there are pros and cons that even out. But I'm on the same page as you, the overall materials usage in the game does need a pass-over before it's released lol. I think the one thing a few people are totally missing about my video (and some are raging about 🤣), is again what I am seeing as the "trend" with Acid. From what I have been able to research, Acid is literally the only material of its kind that we start using right from the start and are still using it nonstop even at level 40+ and that is what worries me. It's that more and more items will keep on being added as players progress in the future that also require Acid to the point where that's going to be the only resource everyone is always grinding for just to play the game.
I wonder if they are setting players up to have to purchase in game currency to buy resources, or something of that nature. From the game play I've seen, this game looks rather mediocre and kind of all over the place. It doesn't seem to know what it wants to be. Just doesn't appeal to me.
Well, this is NetEase we're talking about so sadly that wouldn't be a huge surprise. I could totally see them selling stacks of Acid for $0.99-1.99, especially since this is supposedly going to be a mobile game too 😐.
I wont be surprised if they will make acid available to buy through micro transaction, so its gonna be pay to win, thats how the games of this genre usually end up.
Not sure if I would go that far at the moment. But, things like that are unfortunately common and do happen too often. Again, Acid is basically the only resource of its kind so far in the game, which does warrant some worries along the lines you mentioned that it could be used as a cash grab when the game is released. I'm hopeful that won't be the case, but even if it's not abused that way it's still not in a great place and could end up being even worse as players progress if designed poorly.
I subbed. I like your videos they are very helpful, and I agree with your statement here about acid. Can you do a video on echo stones and the extraction site that give acid and flags you for PvP?
This is netease.... omegalul. They failed to make naraka bladepoint good. They have tons of forced farming/forced pvp in lifeafter and dawn awakening. So this thing is pretty much intended. most likely there is gonna be an autoloot mechanic that is purchased where placing your base near enemies spawn is more convenient to use so base def will be more rewarding. And there will be shop/ battlepass that sells acid.. more than likely . That is why i have crossbow and my base is near a enemy spawn point. Starchrom farming on the other hand is whole level of sht. For all that work you get 30... gacha blueprints 1 10 pull is 5k starchrom. Thats alot of dungeon runs to get the cores. Higher cores produces more enemies someone said on discord.. so lol.. is starchrom worth the grind? Idk.
Yeah, Netease does not have a great reputation at all when it comes to BS like that for sure. If I'm correct and they turn the game into a grinding cashshop it will be sad but myself and many others will just move on. Thankfully I have tons of other games I enjoy to go play lol.
I feel with the fact players are probablly going to end up fighting over rare or valuable resources swapping acid out in some recipies could help with its repeated use and keep people from being murdered for having like 10 acid 😂
Lol there's definitely more than a few options to make this issue better. The easiest being to give players the means to craft acid, maybe after you beat the Spider boss you can learn it from the Memetics tree.
That's through forced PVP though. What about PVE players? If the Devs are going to give PVP players a way to farm Acid then there should be a way for PVE players to as well.
Not in reliable amounts. Especially when you get to the higher zones the loot tables for monsters start to have way more items than just Acid and it is very common at times to kill 10 or more and only get 2 or so that will drop it.
If you get the blackfell refinery permits, you can spend 5 mins to defend the refineries at strongholds that give 20,30, 40 acid each permit i've not really done all the strongholds until chalk hills (just enough for story) and i've found 4-5 permits from gear chests and they respawn every 30mis or so
And you're forgetting to mention the fact it puts you into PVP which is kinda BS in IMO. PVPers already have the Frontier battles to fight over resources. Workshops should be grp PVE content so that PVE players can work together to farm Acid.
i sent you a friend request in game name is sakura im also trying to join your hive. i also agree with the acid grinding finding myself having to go to the low lvl areas just to melee kill enemys for it

End game they need a drill that passively gathers ores, gas and probably acid at this point and have it run off the high quality gas
That's definitely an option! I think if we could just learn to craft it from the Memetics tree, say after the spider boss that would be awesome.
Im at lone wolf wastes, enemies tend to drop acid pretty often in 6 - 7s , human enemies tend to drop weapon powder, but I do Agree, acid is used on way too many recipes, specially aluminium and tungsten, which is bad.
On the electricity thing, tbh I see it as pretty poor desing decision, its better to just have a single player hive, cause your house cant sustain the deviants, even with 2 of the best generators(that is just 60 power)
Game has a lot , and I mean A LOT of potential, its fun atm and can be improved, but as far as I see it ,the main problem is that it will die if it doesnt have any actual end game content, cause we`re getting to the last part, and if they plan to just do as diablo 4 did(each season you just start over) then I cant see this going forward much longer.
It could be like public events so that whenever someone starts it others can join and help and get rewards depending on how long they were there.
ran into this yesterday was a bit dissapointing just having to acid farm
Well, it is closed beta and the Dev's have already made tons of changes so hopefully they will figure out a better way to handle this too. Overall this is honestly the only negative video I've ever done about the game so I am hopeful that it will work out lol.
yah i make sens cuz acid can make lots of things
Yep, exactly. And when you look at it, Acid is also one of, if not the only resource that we have been using the whole game so far from start and are still using it even 30+ levels later. And that's what I'm afraid of. That the developers are just going to keep throwing in more items that need Acid as we keep leveling and progressing.
i cant even make grenade launcher / rpg ammo cuz it cost so much to make
I mean rpgs are op so its fair to make it hard to get or make
I spent some money on undawn and this took me no where in the game as i was playing since day one i bought the battlepass and i spent couple more on other items I hope they are talking truth about the free to play and they must listen to the negative opinions about the game I also assume that the weapons blueprints will be a thing in the future the more stars on your gun the more powerful you will be purple and gold and blue is a a thing that is must be like blueprint per full claim rewards must guaranteed from the boss fights this will make things easy like in warframe you get relics and you smash relics to get what blueprint you want in order to build a specific character I'm playing this game with cautious as I believe that there's nothing for free hope they make there game not pay to win and only sell cosmetics for real life money
If Path of Exile can survive and thrive for years and years only using cosmetics and being F2P this game can do. As long as the game is fun and engaging people will spend money on it and support it.
pretty sure there is alot of acid in Silo Phi as they are primarily monsters.
You can find monsters anywhere, the problem is that Acid isn't a guaranteed drop. You could kill a dozen monsters and only have 2 or 3 of them drop Acid 😅.
As the mob level increases they drop a higher amount of acid. I do one run on level 30 mobs and have close to 200
@@kasper2zero283 And just how long do your "runs" go for?
East junction rail at the resource station thing you can farm acid, 1 hour can prob yield 5-800 acid. pretty amazing
Requires Blackfell extraction permit
That's through forced PVP though. What about PVE players? If the Devs are going to give PVP players a way to farm Acid then there should be a way for PVE players to as well.
IIRC the "zombie"? are also drops acid
Not in reliable amounts. Especially when you get to the higher zones the loot tables for monsters start to have way more items than just Acid and it is very common at times to kill 10 or more and only get 2 or so that will drop it.
Where do you get wings potion recipy from ?
From the Butterfly Deviation. Just need to get it into a Securement unit and get it happy 👍
This is why it’s in beta is it not?
Exactly. I'm hoping they will figure out other options than what is currently in the game. But, you can't work on a issue if no one talks about it.
Workshops should be grp PVE content so that PVE players can work together to farm Acid.
i sent you a friend request in game name is sakura im also trying to join your hive. i also agree with the acid grinding finding myself having to go to the low lvl areas just to melee kill enemys for it
lol sorry about that! I always deny any random friend request when I don't know where it's coming from 😅. Message me and send me a request through Discord! You can find me in the Once Human Discord channel :)
