Islander “Artica” The dial reminds me of icebergs floating in the Arctic blue sea 🌊 The red seconds hand looks like a compass hand, pointing to true north in the Arctic 🧭 The polished silver bracelet gives that Ice vibe to the watch ❄️
“The Compass” The red seconds hand reminds me of a compass needle, and this watch represents Marc’s guiding principles for the brand: knowing his customer and delivering extreme value.
"Shellback" - name given to sailors who have crossed the equator. The red hand on the blue & white background gives me vibes of navigating the globe. The equatorial line crossing ceremony where the term Shellback normally is mentioned is pretty interesting too, could have a cool tie in. And of course if you make a 38mm version it needs to be called "Pollywog" (someone who has not yet crossed the equator).
Hi Mark, 'Summer Blue' that's simple and suggests the bright blue days of Summer and the sun's silvery glinting off the surface of water; red hand of action speaks to adventurous activity.
Since you’re on Long Island I thought it would be fun to name this, and future limited releases, after features of Long Island. I’m not familiar with the area but here are some ideas I pulled off Google Maps: - Oyster Bay - Long Beach - Hampton / Hampton Bay - South Shore - North Shore - Montauk / Montauk Point (with lighthouse engraving)
The Brashear - after the badass US Navy Sailor Carl Brashear who was the first African-American to attend and graduate from the U.S. Navy Diving & Salvage school and the first African-American U.S. Navy Diver. He trained on the East Coast (NJ & RI) and escorted Eisenhower's presidential yacht. He lost his leg, persisted anyways and became the first amputee diver to be recertified as a U.S. Navy diver, later becoming the first African-American U.S. Navy master diver. He had a movie made after him, Men of Honor. One of his apparent beliefs/sayings was "I ain't going to let nobody steal my dream." All in all - a badass diver watch named after a badass diver that is created by someone who is not letting anyone steal the dream of creating and selling fantastic watches. The Brashear.
@@Ronnie_Caps Dah. Didn't realize that. That's a sharp watch too with the bronze look (www.oris.ch/en/watch/oris-carl-brashear-limited-edition/01-733-7720-3185-set-ls)
I would name the watch after one of New York’s most famous beaches. As the watch has a summertime vibe to it. And being from a New York based brand, naming it after a famous New York beach or summertime playground makes a lot of sense. You can also name many of your most popular models after famous New York places too. Again, Islander is from New York, makes sense too name some with names of New York places. The Empire State is just another example .As soon as I can afford it I plan on buying one of your ISL-18 as it is a very beautiful piece. Well done Mark.
I would suggest the name “Le Grand Bleu” or Th Big Blue in English, would be a fantastic nod to a French film about free diving and the colors are reminiscent of the French flag
"The Meridian" I love this name with the color of the dial and color of the second hand...Looks like the prime meridian upon the ocean. Beautiful! Thanks :-)
Call it “The Gatsby” as parts of that took place in long island and the great gatsby signifies gentrification and high class which the gorgeous watch does as well. The blue dial of the watch matches the significance of the bespectacled blue eyes on the billboard! I think “The Gatsby” would be an amazing and proper name! Cheers
the "ICELANDER" The watch has an icey feeling to it with its cold colours - and because Iceland is an island that is associated with cold and harsh but beatiful landscapes.
I am a Canadian but I think it should be named something patriotic for America. The US is so divided and is such a great nation, and some need to be reminded and nothing better than wear something that represents that pride. I suggest the name be THE AMERICAN. It has the red hand and the blue dial and the custom back could be an eagle or the US flag. Even if you don't pick my name you should do something patriotic on the watch. The world needs a strong USA. Anyways much love from a Canadian
Long Island Apollo. The color scheme of the watch matches that of NASA! Also, I think the grey embossed logo is consistent with the space theme. Most importantly, the space theme alludes to your previous career as an aerospace engineer. 😏🚀
Easy....."head of the bay" limited edition named after the boat club in Huntington......or the "gold star" limited edition named after the beautiful beach near your shop
"Melville". Classic name associated with a seafaring tale. And a town down the road from where you guys are located. Whatever name you choose It would be cool to keep it related to Long Island. "Northport" or "Bayshore" also are nice.
Mark, I'll throw these two at you because you and I have both have Long Island Sound in common, and that's where I've done most of my sailing in these two types of boats: Mirage and Typhoon. Take you pick.
“Rigel” Isl-18 = Rigel It’s the brightest star on Orion and its blue... is a blue supergiant star in the constellation of Orion Some really cool images reminds me of the face also reminds me of a blue diamond under fluorescent light
The blue lagoon I think it would be a good name since it's a diverse watch and your brand is Long island watch and it has a blue dial. it's a kind of a play on words
My suggestion would be the Islander Montauk. The tip of Long Island. A beautiful and fairly nautical place for a stunning watch and still part of Long Island. Scratch that. Someone suggested already. I still think it’s the pick though. My second choice is the Islander Huntington.
Any idea when you sell out of all these beautiful watches, when and will you offer anymore of these? By the way, how much are you selling these for? Thanks for the info.
Looking at this watch reminds me of the Greek god of the sea ! I would baptise this watch " The "Poseidon" It has the Greek colours to! Blue dial & white bezel . Very stunning watch!
And I also just thought about the fact that the moon was used for navigation and the first guy to single handedly circumnavigate the earth Joshua slocum used lunar navigation in his voyage. So the name the blue moon even has nautical roots
"Friday". For many reasons, the Islander connection is evident, after Defoe's novel. It has the casual feeling that friday as a calendar day bears, also rhymes with the notion that it is a piece of equipment that keeps the wearer sane towards the end of the week. Somewhat like Friday did with Crusoe. Also, it has day date, so perfect for a stranded person. Damn fishes and birds are so boring I cannot really tell how much.
It seems an obvious shout, but I think "The Islander Maritime" has a wonderful ring to it that sums up both the history and heritage that inspires the design of dive watches, and blue, silver, and grey tones in the watch that evoke a lot of the colors of the coastal pacific north west.
The "Skimmer" would be a nice name. The bird has a red beak with white/dark toned feathers. Or even the Islander "Penguin", but it doesn't have the same ring to it. Hell, i'd go really far to call it "The Skimguin" :))) good luck with the sales on this model! I'm sure they'll be out of stock very fast.
"Red sky at night, sailors delight." - from the old nautical saying. Could work as "Red Sky," for short. "When we see a red sky at night, this means that the setting sun is sending its light through a high concentration of dust particles. This usually indicates high pressure and stable air coming in from the west. Basically good weather will follow." -- Library of Congress Seems apt for the ISL-18. Thanks, Marc!
I don't know what to call it but I think most watches should have a colored sweeping hand. It should detract from the style or other hands but it adds legibility and a certain kind of correctness. Its a great watch. Congrats. I bet it sells out very quickly.😄
LMAO, I am watching this and enjoying a Michelob Ultra. As I looked over at the can which is blue, red and silver...... exactly like the watch........ I will throw in with the Islander Ultra or the Ultra Islander
Usually people name watches based on what the watch looks like at a glance - my immediate thought was "Safari' because the watch looks like the Apple's safari logo - but based on that - you could keep it simple and call it ''The Blue Navigator' or if you wanna make it short "Naviblue"
The Skye Islander - named after one of the most beautiful islands on the coast of Scotland. Also has the reference of being blue with the Scottish flag and the connotation of blue sky). Good luck with it.
The red angler for the red second hand, red angel, blue angle, red spear, the white house, patriot or patriator for the American colours. Thank you so much mark for just getting me started into the hobby. Keep up the good content.
The Islander Void. Why? Because you can stare at its dial and it will stare back. And yes its a diver but for me with the silver bezel and red seconds it evoques deep space exploration also. its like a mini dark blue (black) hole viewed from a sturdy metal casing. Plus, the void and emptiness concept is vaguely close to the islander brand name:think isolated or exploring a newfound land.
The Moubray. In 1957 a USCGC Northwind, an icebreaker, cleared a path to Moubray Bay, Antarctica. Fitting to me as the color reminds me of the frigid and rugged terrain with the red hand “cutting” through it.
Islander skysail or Ascent. The skysail is both nautical and a nod to the crown "royal" the watch pays homage to. Ascent, diving related and signifies the Islander lines expansion and movement upward as your brand grows.
How about names with themes that future releases can use? "Coral Sea" (bodies of water); "Anemone" (sea creatures/flowers); "18 Sport" (adding keywords to current nomenclature to indicate special features)
Kaunaoa Bay. From Hawaii - You have the blue waters of the pacific, the white sand beach, and the red lava that created the island over time. Also, the name is in line with the Islander brand theme.
The Lagoona. A great looking watch even if I don't win. Also Marc someone mentioned about you doing an Explorer type watch. Do it and I will definitely buy it.
Would Name it "Akabi" meaning the jewel of the sea the beautiful ruby amidst calm ocean or "Enakai"- meaning the glowing sea with that beautiful firery red hand sweeping in the calm blue. All the best for this beautiful launch !!
Blue Ensign- a flag flown by the Royal Navy's Blue Squadron pre 1864. Davy Jones. - an idiom for the bottom of the sea. Couldn't decided between the two maybe you can Mark.
First of all, beautiful watch! I would name it the Islander NJORD. I have studied Norse mythology my whole life and Njord is the Norse-Germanic god of the seas. Specifically sailing and swimming the sea. What better name for a dive watch than the Norse-Germanic god of the sea on your wrist to make sure your time in the water goes well!
Name it "Doria". So it will still have a legacy of Long Island and connected to diving since it is a diver watch. Long Island is famous for its technical diving, or diving that ventures into waters beyond the recreational limit of 130 feet. The Andrea Doria, sometimes known as "The Mount Everest of Wreck Diving," lies in the area below over 200 feet of water. SS Andrea Doria, was an ocean liner for the Italian Line home-ported in Genoa, Italy, known for her sinking in 1956. Named after the 16th-century Genoese admiral Andrea Doria.
"The Montauk" You get to incorporate one of the most iconic seaside locations of Long Island, and can laser etch the phrase "The End of the World" on the case back. Possibly add the lighthouse over the water as an added detail on the case back as well. The lighthouse also has that iconic RED paint that can be the inspiration for the seconds hand, while the WHITE hours and minutes hands can serve as the other paint on the lighthouse. You also incorporate the beautiful BLUE sunburst dial that can represent the sun shining on the Atlantic. All of these suggestions tie in the diver aspect of the watch and its origins.
"The Cretan" It's got blue, red and white like the flag of Crete 100 years ago. It's also an island in the Mediterranean. There's also some incredible places to go diving in Crete too. Or the Cretan Cove

“Deep Six” old sailor term. Mark please make 1000 of these.
Islander “Artica”
The dial reminds me of icebergs floating in the Arctic blue sea 🌊
The red seconds hand looks like a compass hand, pointing to true north in the Arctic 🧭
The polished silver bracelet gives that Ice vibe to the watch ❄️
I second that!
Change it to Artico and I’m on board!
“The Compass”
The red seconds hand reminds me of a compass needle, and this watch represents Marc’s guiding principles for the brand: knowing his customer and delivering extreme value.
Love this name!!
Shellback is perfect
Look at mr. big dick over here flexing his sailing knowledge. What a stud!
Oooh I like it
The ISL-18 "Lighthouse"
The contrasting seconds hand reminds me of a beam of light over the ocean. Plus you know, Long Island.
The ISL-76 “Americana” or “American.” That red, white, and blue color scheme is incredible.
Hi Mark,
'Summer Blue'
that's simple and suggests the bright blue days of Summer and the sun's silvery glinting off the surface of water; red hand of action speaks to adventurous activity.
Since you’re on Long Island I thought it would be fun to name this, and future limited releases, after features of Long Island. I’m not familiar with the area but here are some ideas I pulled off Google Maps:

“Takaroa”. Taken from the Polynesian Atoll famous for the endurance of it’s native freedivers.
The Brashear - after the badass US Navy Sailor Carl Brashear who was the first African-American to attend and graduate from the U.S. Navy Diving & Salvage school and the first African-American U.S. Navy Diver. The Brashear.
Joe Ginese, now there’s one hell of a great suggestion.
@@Gymnastics-er3kx I thought so too! Thanks
Great idea! There’s a really good video on the Watchfinder RUclips channel about a Watch that is named after him!

"The Meridian" I love this name with the color of the dial and color of the second hand...Looks like the prime meridian upon the ocean. Beautiful! Thanks :-)
“Blue Jay”. Yes Mark. Look at the bird and definitions
Cheers
the "ICELANDER"
The watch has an icey feeling to it with its cold colours - and because Iceland is an island that is associated with cold and harsh but beatiful landscapes.
I was just about to comment that :(
"Papa Smurf!" The colors are on point :)
Merica 🇺🇸
It’s the “Blingy Dinghy” any other name would be uncivilized.

Long Island Apollo. The color scheme of the watch matches that of NASA! Also, I think the grey embossed logo is consistent with the space theme. Most importantly, the space theme alludes to your previous career as an aerospace engineer. 😏🚀
This is probably the best name of the list I've seen
Super solid pick.
Thanks y’all
"Lagoon" would be a simple, well fitted name in my opinion.
Easy....."head of the bay" limited edition named after the boat club in Huntington......or the "gold star" limited edition named after the beautiful beach near your shop
My suggestion is the "Islander Ultramarine". Goes perfect with the blue face and the fact that this is a dive watch.
"Melville". Classic name associated with a seafaring tale. And a town down the road from where you guys are located. Whatever name you choose It would be cool to keep it related to Long Island. "Northport" or "Bayshore" also are nice.
Melville. That is good.
+1 for The Bayshore
I'd go for the Seafarer! Sticking to it's Islander roots (:
Name the ISL-18 “Orion” and then call this version the “Betelgeuse” after the red giant star that makes up the constellation. All the best Marc!
Mark, I'll throw these two at you because you and I have both have Long Island Sound in common, and that's where I've done most of my sailing in these two types of boats: Mirage and Typhoon. Take you pick.
“Rigel”
Isl-18 = Rigel
It’s the brightest star on Orion and its blue... is a blue supergiant star in the constellation of Orion
Some really cool images reminds me of the face also reminds me of a blue diamond under fluorescent light
"Islander Alpine".
- The design makes me think of snowy mountains :)
“Island pearl” would sound amazing
The blue lagoon
I think it would be a good name since it's a diverse watch and your brand is Long island watch and it has a blue dial. it's a kind of a play on words
Multiple choice: The Icelander (the land of fire and ice), The Langskip (Viking warship), the Islandingur (famous modern Islandic viking ship)
Islander glacier or maybe red glacier
How about 'The Island Hopper'
Named after Rear Admiral Grace Hopper, and a nod to both New York and your science background
My suggestion would be the Islander Montauk. The tip of Long Island. A beautiful and fairly nautical place for a stunning watch and still part of Long Island. Scratch that. Someone suggested already. I still think it’s the pick though. My second choice is the Islander Huntington.
The name that just screams out at me is the "Iceberg"!! Excited to see what you end up choosing.
That’s immediately what I though too. The Deep blue with the shiny ice bezel
May I suggest the name of this Islander to be the "Silver Reef"
The Long Island: “Moon Lagoon”
Or “Luna Cove”
Or the: “Luna Lagoon”
omg I love the moon tied in with the nautical theme all of these are 🔥
Any idea when you sell out of all these beautiful watches, when and will you offer anymore of these?
By the way, how much are you selling these for?
Thanks for the info.
“Iceberg”, “monsoon”, ”snowstorm”, “Arctic”
i went for arctic first than you! fight fight fight. lol
Looking at this watch reminds me of the Greek god of the sea ! I would baptise this watch " The "Poseidon"
It has the Greek colours to! Blue dial & white bezel . Very stunning watch!
How about the “Dory” who doesn’t like the lovable blue fish from Finding Nemo.
Call it Ocean Sapphire. The way that dial reflects in the light.... nice job Marc!
"Marine Coral"
The overall color scheme reminds me of a coral reef, with the white indices and red seconds hand being the corals in the sea-blue dial.
How about the “Blue Lagoon”? It’s got a ring to it!!
“The blue moon” the silvery steel and the deep blue just remind me of the night sky
And I also just thought about the fact that the moon was used for navigation and the first guy to single handedly circumnavigate the earth Joshua slocum used lunar navigation in his voyage. So the name the blue moon even has nautical roots
I'd call this Islander 'Maverick'. This seems like a watch Tom Cruise would wear flying his fighter jet. Classy, functional, and very reasonable!
Also - Is it just a coincidence that he is flying a F18 in the new Top Gun?! ISL18 ... F18... it’s perfect!
“Macht Yaster”
LOL ok Boaty McBoat Face
:)))
It must be this.
“Red Mark” named after the owner who did the mod with a red seconds hand.
Hi Marc. I would name it “Marc 1” after you know what I mean !
The Islander Pacific. Calm yet powerful.
The new Islander 2020 limited addition, "AQUANTIS"
The Jacques Bluesteau. A bit of an oldie reference.
Blue Steel was my first thought, I like yours better though.
Thank you. It is a lovely looking watch.
Maybe.... "Longislanders red arrow" ? Or just "Red arrow" 😉
"Friday". For many reasons, the Islander connection is evident, after Defoe's novel. It has the casual feeling that friday as a calendar day bears, also rhymes with the notion that it is a piece of equipment that keeps the wearer sane towards the end of the week. "The Patriot" as it is red , white (ok silver) and blue
SPADA ROSSA (Italian for "Red Sword")
It seems an obvious shout, but I think "The Islander Maritime" has a wonderful ring to it that sums up both the history and heritage that inspires the design of dive watches, and blue, silver, and grey tones in the watch that evoke a lot of the colors of the coastal pacific north west.
Not sure if these showed up..but here you go....The Gilligan ...after Gilligan's island....sea blizzard..after the watches rugged look....
Long Island "Commander"

Hell, i'd go really far to call it "The Skimguin" :))) good luck with the sales on this model! I'm sure they'll be out of stock very fast.
"Red Shift" because hopefully it'll be moving away from you (and heading towards me!)
Islander glacier, or maybe red glacier
I think it's only fitting to name it something "close to home". You're Long Island Watch, I would definitely call this the Hudson.
The Islanders "Crimson Trident" for the red second hand.
The Islander "free dive"
Simple to the point, understated
"Red sky at night, sailors delight." - from the old nautical saying. Could work as "Red Sky," for short.
"When we see a red sky at night, this means that the setting sun is sending its light through a high concentration of dust particles. This usually indicates high pressure and stable air coming in from the west. Basically good weather will follow." -- Library of Congress
Seems apt for the ISL-18. Thanks, Marc!
Islander Cruiseliner. The dressier/flashier nature of this watch calls to mind someone vacationing on a luxury cruise ship with cold drink in hand.
“Icecap” was the first thing that came to mind when I saw the light colored bezel around the blue face, looks great!
Fjord 1 - need to reflect the frosted bezel, and water. And water doesn't get much cooler than a clear Fjord
I'm a Navy guy we don't have yachts we have ships and shipmates. I would name it Shipmate. Alone on watch, your actual watch is your shipmate.
Are you sure, I thought Navy boats were filled with seamen...
I MUST have this watch!!! Please give us a heads up on the future release...
Islander skysail or Ascent. The skysail is both nautical and a nod to the crown "royal" the watch pays homage to. Ascent, diving related and signifies the Islander lines expansion and movement upward as your brand grows.
The lighthouse. To me the red reminds me of a lighthouse shining its light onto the deep blue sea.
This watch is absolutely a leader of your time fleet. Islander commodore or Islander admiral would fit perfect to that watch.
Islander Maritime. America and the sea have had a long history together. And the colors red and blue just remind me of our country.
Yes I've given it some more thought and I still come up with
1.Argonaut
2.Nautilus
3. 20,000 Leagues
Islander blue bay. Nice work Mark!
The Aqua racer. The blue and red is sporty like a race boat and since it's a dive watch it should obviously have a water related name...
"blue lagoon"the colour and the fact that it's an islander makes it even more suitable.
