Yeah, I dig that. I love their work, overall, but Välde... Oh boy... While I like that album, it's my least favored, and my personal favorite, so far, is Abyssal. In fact that was the first full album I listened to from them, and I'm not entirely sure which track I'd say is my actual favorite, though I have jammed Bursting Bowels of Tellus more than any of the rest, specifically because of the section from 2:17-3:00 I just love all of, especially those scrapes, or whatever that is. Jerr-jerr-joo-jee-jurr-jerr... 🤣🤷🏼♂️ Love it. I love that album, from beginning to end. Dödgud, Rampant, Abyssal Mouth, Fragda, Bone Dust, Like Flies... Just so much filthy goodness, in my own opinion.
I will say, I loved Valde. Ashen seems like they are keeping some Thall elements but also incorporating the downbeat elements that Black tongue use . Honestly solid track. Solid enough that I pre ordered the album 👍
You'd enjoy their older albums more. You should try their selftitled album, its honestly one of my favorite album of all time. Its less ambient/atmospheric and more to the face / aggressive. Make Me Blind has one of my favorite breakdown ever.
Palm muted scratchy breakdown towards the end of make me blind is legendary. My 3 favourite tracks are definitely bellua pt 1 and 2 + make me blind. The self titled changed the world of heavy music for me.
that's definitely one of my favorite breakdowns ever the palm-mute string skipped scratchy minor second thingy at the outro, whatever it's called, even the buildup to the breakdown in Make Me Blind is good
I definitely shared your sentiments on Valde [2021]. It was so Thall-y and ended up being lost in the sauce (boring) but their 2019 album Abyssal was excellent. Hoping the band can find a happy medium. This song sounds like a great start on the road to making really awesome shit
You guys are so right btw! Abyssal is awesome! I skip only two songs on the whole thing. Valde is.... okay. It felt like a rushed covid album since touring probably wasn't a thing at the time. So far the two new singles are amazing. WAY better than Valde.
First time hearing this band, and while there are some "unique" sounds, I'm fucking over the bottom string syncopation that just about every metal band on the planet is doing. The middle section was good but there wasn't enough there to grab me personally.
I loved this one. This band is such a vibe and it’s not always my cup of tea, but when they get a bit more riffy like here I think it’s amazing.

This song is monumental. That atmosphere is chilling. A masterpiece. And the visuals are phenomenal

Appreciate the review of the song, I love HLB so much. Their music has always taken me somewhere no other band can.
I totally feel this! Those guys are something else!!
3:28 when your face turns into a fist! This part is so nasty! I love it!
HLB never really did much for me, but this one I like and look forward to hearing the rest of the album.
HLB isn't for everyone but I have to say Valde is my favourite album of all time haha. This is the best thing about music!

Best part of the video was from 1:18-5:22, the rest was good but I wish that one guy with the beard wasn't so cringe. ;)
They both have beards💀 still valid
