  • Grab this guitar, or its 6 and 7 string guitar equivalents from www.gocguitars.com Thursday, May 23 at 8pm Central!
If you're like me and have been hesitant to pick up an 8 string guitar because of being intimidated by the wider necks and fear of unplayability, these are DEFINTIELY the guitars that will change your mind. ‪@gocguitars‬ are already ergonomic and created with the player in mind, but the AOnecks on these make an 8 string feel so much more approachable. Not to mention their Paragon 2.0 pickups sounding absolutly gnarly with little to no effort dialing in a quick 8 string guitar tone for this video!
I used the Neural DSP Fortin Nameless X and Archetype Gojira X for these 8 string guitar tones, as always!

@@spiral1349 I don’t disagree, Solar guitars are fantastic and I love Ola Englund so I support them fully. But, that A1.8 is nearly twice the price of some GOC models. This 8 string you see in my video was only $875. Solar does not have a guitar of this quality level, or this price level, that can compete. Again, I know for a fact Solar guitars are fantastic, so I am not arguing that point whatsoever!

Do you feel that having the bridge pickup that far from the saddles (on the bass-side) throws the tone off? Something about the 8th string just isn't sitting with me.
That being said, overall tone is sick and lots of people have had great success with the GOC 8s, maybe it's just me.

Not for me personally no. Looking at it as an outsider who hasn’t owned an 8 in well over a decade, I just create tones from scratch and don’t rely on any presets or anything so that I get the tone I want from the start you know? I can see where owning other 8 string guitars can make ears biased though

I personally don’t like the pickup too close to the bridge like on a Strandberg. It makes all palm mutes extremely weak sounding. It’s why I returned my Strandberg.

@@thisguy2973 I had a similar issue with a Strandberg Boden Standard 6 string. I was able to partially remedy it with different pickups, but it still wasn't my favorite beacuse of that too. I don't feel I hear that issue on these GOCs, honestly
