    I feel like instead of trying to keep the “image” of the member and therefore of the team, we should try to build a Christ-like character in each member so that they understand that they should behave the same way outside as they do in church, even when they won’t create a problem for the team

    Question - what about if you are noticing an issue with any person in the worship / media team - and you (worship leader) inform the Pastor but nothing happens - and you address the person directly but nothing gets resolve and you bring this issue (tardiness / and no communication) to the Pastor once again but the person is not address - what should I do at this point.
    I notice that now I am being affected by the lack of attention or action to this issue ( has been happening for over a year)
    I lead the team and lead vocal - I am noticing that this issue is affecting my heart and my delivery as I lead during our service... Any advise or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

      +jessie alarcon It sounds like the individual may believe the church needs them more than they need the church. In cases like this, having a grace-filled but truth-centered conversation with them for a plan to change could be in order. If they are willing to change that's great, if not, then you might discuss the importance of a spirit in humility that's required to truly enter into God's presence (James 4:6) and get a plan for them to take a step back from serving on that team for a season of time.

      It all depends if the pastor truly supports and backs you in whatever decision you make. Often musicians are connected to large tithe paying families and the pastor doesn't won't to rock the situation and end-up upsetting family members. This has always been a problem in churches!

    I am a bass player which over 40 years have played for multiple churches and size venues and have played in environments where the fear-factor was used to manipulate musicians. Not fun at all!

    Why would you let someone who does not know the Lord lead worship?! It's not about talent, it's about leading God's people and His Spirit. An unbeliever cannot do that.

    There needs to be a "requirement" that members of the worship team "have to" attend church. And these people are seen as leaders?

      Hi there! I'm wondering if you could expand on that a little more? I honestly don't know of any churches that do not require people to identify as being a member of their congregation and be an active participant in order to be apart of any serve teams, including worship. It is important for those on the worship team to be actively walking with God or else you're just asking for trouble. Just my thoughts. Have a great day!!

      @bryanmurphy3375 6 лет назад

      Not really. I mean, I'm not aware of any that aren't going to let you in the door unless you do that (I do not agree with that), but in order to serve in most volunteer and leadership capacities, then yes, active membership (simply identifying with the church body and saying this is where you feel called to serve God) and regular attendance is required.

    How can a non-christian be a worship leader? How can they lead someone where they've never been? All the people on the stage are examples of worship leaders?

  • @RenewalCreations

    The way that you are handling conflict with "i feel", etc is not a Christ like way of handling things. It's kind of psychological manipulative. Ask the Lord to give you the right words so you can address it... Say the truth with love.
