Charlotte should know, *IF* she talks with Casca who Griffith brought back. Surely she will recognize Casca since she helped rescue Griffith from his prison cell.
I agree that Princess Charlotte is the most tragic. She was just innocent in the cruel world of Berserk. I know others are saying Guts and Casca far more tragic but both agreed to be in the company of Griffin. Guts and Casca are both soldiers/mercenaries and knew the risks that came with it. Even cont staying with Griffin.
My personal theory is that Griffith has been using the monsters to bring all the humans in his city, so he can make everyone into sacrifice humans and apostles alike. So in other words, your theory that the princess will be a sacrifice is correct in my opinion, just not a special sacrifice, just one for the hard because Griffith will sacrifice everything that is dear to him like the city of his dreams, just as Guts has said to the Wizards, so will be able to soar to even greater heights.
I think thats a possiblity because ruling a kingdom was Grif's dream and Femnto is "supposed" to be not Griffif. Maybe by killing all or most of the human race he will be disrupting fate, maybe even control it enough to become a true god. I could see Griff who became Femnto with his ego wanting more then ruling a simple kingdom.
I think her fate is as she lay dying (perhaps taking another arrow for Griffith) her last vision is seeing Griffith leaving her to her fate. Or maybe a scene similiar to what Guts saw in the Berserker armor's blood memory of King Gaiseric (presumably) holding a dying woman with the brand of sacrifice on her.
I wonder if Griffith would still turn his back on his comrades if he had never deflowered Princess Charlotte. Perhaps he would have gotten severely wounded in battle and his body would've still been ruined. And the only way to recover would be through sacrifice during the Eclipse. Maybe if Charlotte was present during that horrendous event she would've been sacrificed instead of the remaining hawk soldiers.
If guts would have stayed with the band its possible that he was still going to become a godhand, except his body would have been damaged in a battle against the kushan empire rather than his affair with Charlotte. There a lot empires from outside of the west that could be potential key to Griffith being captured and tortures and activating the crimson behelit.
There are crazy parallels with Berserk and and so many other manga and anime. Some of the released forms of the later Apostles strongly resemble the Awakened Beings from Claymore. And Griffith's vision of living with Casca reminded me of Eren's vision of living happily with Mikasa. They both had dreams of living happily with the person they loved if they gave up on their (destructive) dreams. I'm pretty sure Eren (especially the current season's Eren) was very much influenced by Griffith's character.
Possibly, yes. Except Griffin is more of a megalomaniac; a madman with a god complex. The kind who wants to make the world a better place for him only. He'll crash and burn eventually, after aiming too high. 😠 But not before using most of his followers as pawns, he won't.
In the world of Berserk. Whenever anyone has come across a Behelit. And wanted to transcend their humanity into Demon hood. The people who tend to suffer the worse are the ones that are close to those individuals. I look at it this way. If Griffith didn’t have any issue sacrificing the original band of the hawk to become a member of the god hand. What’s stopping him from doing it again? And remember, it’s never a pretty sight to see someone become a sacrificial lamb to anyone who’s fate is sealed by casualty. Berserk is such a twisted tale that really taps into the inner darkness of humanity. I have this feeling that the ending to Berserk is going to be very nightmarish. Don’t be surprised if Charlotte will become consumed by Griffith desperate attempt to maintain his dream. And I don’t doubt that it will NOT involve demons tearing her apart and consuming her flesh.
When you in Berzerk, it's either die in a horrible way or live in torment and agony. My bet is Charlotte is suppose to die in a horrific and humiliating manner.
Charlotte is better off dead than living with this guy. Griffith has all the signs of a "gaslighting abuser". And he doesn't even have to try hard, since she's completely devoted to him already. I'll bet she'd die happy if Griffith sacrificed her. She'd see that as a privilege. 😅
I’d have to argue that Griffith never cared about Caska romantically. Conrad and Ubek implanted visions in his mind at the eclipse, we don’t know if that was actually his future with her. And what he did to her was purely out of spite and hate for Guts.
to be honest i think Griffith might did to some degree loved her she was one of the only few people that he ever shared a moment of honesty with and when he left her bed chambers near the small soldier necklaces he did left a flower a small little thing he didn't had to do.
The Berserk manga team is absolutely commendable for *continuing* to portray Charlotte as a sweet & bright ray of sunshine even after her sexual awakening, unlike how most manga even today portray sexually active female protagonists. If anything, her love has made her *stronger* as a person. Charlotte is a pure, kind and good-hearted kid; & something as inconsequential as losing her virginity is *not* going to change that.
What I think will happen with Charlotte... she's shown herself to be brave, resourceful and smart. I believe she will stumble upon Casca and Griffith will say something which will set her off. She will of course marry him and be forced to have his demon child. Unfortunately, Charlotte won't be needed after the wedding and or a kid. I'm going to say this.... she was able to save Griffith so I believe she will save herself. Casca will be rescued and I believe she will hitch a ride to safety.
