An interesting clip. I remember when the Boulevard still had a cornfield at the corner of Branders Bridge Rd. and again at the corner of Ellerslie Ave. Long ago and far away. The site of the current shopping center at the corner of Ellerslie Ave was often used for traveling carnivals and circuses. The Exxon in the southern entrance to CH was run by Nick Munson and the used car lot across the street was Pete and Ed's Cities Service station. Shumate's Auto Service was a Sunoco station. US1/301 was still the main highway prior to the construction of I95 and Colonial Heights in the 50s and early 60s had a reputation of being a major speed trap.
