@@samsawner3274 Check with your local fish and pet stores. petco and petsmart usually have lots of decent plants in the tubes. I actually will use those often when I want something different than what I can get from my supplier.
@@christopher_scott I live in Louisiana and the only pet/fish stores with in a reasonable distance is Petco and petsmart the plants in the tubes that they have are usually not in really good shape and the ones in the little cups are 99% really good but I really dont have the money to spend $9 on very little. But the Petco I go to has a display tank that's about I would say 55G or so is always slap stinking full of gorgeous plants but theres only a hand full that I can grow because I dont use co2,grow lights, or anything else to make and help them grow fast bigger and better, (except root tabs), so I've stuck to growing and selling my 2 favorite kind of plants Hydrilla and guppies grass both wild harvested
I took an 85 gallon tank , and over planted it . I then after a couple of months with plants under lights finally put 1m/2f of like 20 strains of fish and let them do what guppies do. I love seeing endless color varieties. Looks like a rainbow exploded as my nephew describes it
Creating New Color Guppies! (Guppy Breeding) title? took 8 mins for the tank setup, you don't even emphasize what guppy strain to breed and what will be the expected strain may came out of those two different strain, because that's title of your video right?

Interesting video. Owned aquarium fish my whole life.. . #1 question.. "I'm not seeing any heaters for each of your tanks"?... Which prevents me from having more tropical fish tanks.. (Electric Bill). Ugh. 🙄😊
Iwas never really successful with plants as a kid except for like java moss, elodia and this reddish under leaf greenish top leaf plant that grew into bushes and the little long leaf plant that propagated itself at the root making clusters in the gravel substrate. Thank you i like watching it from a far then to deal with it.
I accidentally crossed the Japanese blue endler ( strain from lrb) with some yellow cobra guppies from petsmart a couple years ago Never got involved in refining to sell for profit, ran out of space and patience lol I think they’re beautiful
I’m trying to make rainbow tiger Endler guppies by using male yellow tiger Endlers, male red tiger Endlers and the mother guppies are cobra tail guppies of various colours. It will definitely take a few generations to do. Doing this in a 20 gallon tank, soon will be using a 37 for a multi purpose aquarium as I also plan to breed the more common platys for feeder fish to try to make a difference in my city’s feeder goldfish problem at the pet stores
@ Oliver's Animals I dont know Chris, never met the man. He is a gentleman & will probably not comment. However, Brenten got vulgar, dangerous, & a little lewd with his actions & mouth. Brenten thought this would grow his channel, & it did. But Brenten was not smart enough to know his growth was a ton of youngsters & it just takes 1 or 2 parents to complain & youtube will ban you from the children. EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED. I use 5000 lumen 5000 kelvin shop lights from walmart, they are about $18 each. I have found that the plant growth is substantial but the algae growth is really low with the lower kelvin rating (colder light) Where as the recommendation is 6500+ kelvin (Warmer), I find that algae grows more at this light temperature. I have them on a timer and they are on from 8-5 everyday.
Chris great job man. When your successful with the guppies, about how many will live in a set up like yours & will a pet store buy the babies from folks like us?
Thank you! Usually I will have an adult trio (1 male, 3 females) they will usually produce 60-100 fry total. I will leave those fry in that tank for about 2-3 weeks before moving them to a grow out tank. I have been successfully selling guppies to pet stores. The big box stores will not take them but a lot of local fish stores will.
Not sure if i ran across an unusual color guppy or not but has anyone seen a guppy where the male has its mid to tail be ink black and from mid to front striped in 3 neon colors that flow from the black into a clear/silver?
Thanks for watching! I truly appreciate it! Make sure you drop a like on the video!
I wish I could have some of the plants you have only place I can buy plants near me is petco and petsmart and there selection isn't all that good

That’s because it’s not about the fish it’s about showing the 40$ sponsored dirt and the floating plants they put in it that don’t need substrate
Im so glad your breeding and plant life are flourishing. It all looks so incredible The Japanese cobra guppy is a stunner!!! Great video Chris.

And by the way, I forgot to say that I use a 20 gallon long and a 20 gallon high. I’ve got approximately 60 copies between the two tanks.

Awesome video! With those plant grow out tanks, do you use any fertilizers or is it solely run by fish food and the bio waste of the guppies?
