    Very informative, this is my first time experiencing the release of a new expansion and I know now what to look for.

      Thank you for your kind words!
      One thing I forgot to mention though, this was the way it used to be with all the previous expansions. There is no telling, if something significantly might change this time round! But I believe, that's how it will most likely play out.

    fantastic video! the only thing I'd like to add is that at 5:10 you can go to Keybind -> System and hold the "Target Filters" key to hide player names

    Great advice. FFXIV has a history of great story telling so I'm going to take my time. I also plan to do each dungeon with the npc's when I do it for the first time. Again, so I can take my time and enjoy the surroundings as well as the story. It also allows me to stop & review job changes as I progress thru the dungeon.

      @Miingno  5 месяцев назад

      Thank you and great advice yourself! Doing the dungeons with NPCs will bring a lot of flair and additional lore to the game!
      And who knows, which handsome NPCs might be available this time to help us with the dungeons ;D

    Very helpful, thanks! Definitely going to take it at a leisurely pace as that's how I get the most enjoyment from the game. Being ready day one for the raids would be nice but it's not worth rushing the MSQ for.

      Thank you very much for the comment!
      As I said in the video, you can only once experience it for the first time. Savour that moment and enjoy the game at your own pace!
      Day 1 raids after an expansion launch are always hellish... Fun and challenging sure, but depending on the people you have in your group, it can become tedious. It gets much more relaxed a few weeks in, as well as easier, as some people will already have better gear by then.

    Great video mate, also for easy targeting in crowds on PC, you can press X to hide player nameplates and only show NPCs, then click on the npc to interact.

    • @Miingno
      @Miingno  5 месяцев назад

      Yep, X or which ever button you set in there. I have added this very handy tip to part 2 I've just released last night.
      Thank you! :D

    for the love of god DO NOT BOOK TIME OFF WORK TO PLAY THE FRIST WEEK. this is general advice for any MMO launch, expect that there might be MSQ based bottlenecks such as *shivers) "Raubahn and Pippen EX" or similar unforeseen things that may stop you from being able to play.

    4:11 --- Preorders dont pay more, we just pay earlier...
    I'll probably focus down Pictomancer first before going into MSQ. Also, I dont think the Fenrir motobike is worth a mention here: unless you're minmaxing, mount speed for MSQ will give you a few handful of seconds worth of "advantage". Not sure why anyone would advertise that...

    • @Miingno
      @Miingno  5 месяцев назад

      You are right! I guess it used to be a perk of the collectors edition only and I simply assumed that it will was. Early access is indeed for all the people that did preorder it.
      I mentioned the bike because during recent releases, a lot of people asked me about why me and a LOT of other people were using it. And once they hear the reason, the next question is usually how to get it themselves.
      Pictomancer looks like a lot of fun! I will probably level that one soon too after I'm done with the MSQ. Enjoy!

      I can't tell you how amazing having the fenrir was for doing the endwalker expansion, I can't tell you how many people I passed using it!, plus it just feels better than going the super slow speed everything else goes!

      @arcanadawn 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@Miingno Just an FYI on the bike, there's also now the Garlond GL-IS (the one with Alpha on it) which is an account wide 2 seater that also goes at the same speed in the online store. Great video, btw!

    • @Miingno
      @Miingno  5 месяцев назад +1

      I didn't know that there was a now second mount that could do that! Thanks for the info! :D
      And thank you very much for the kind comment!

    My advice make backup plans something easy you can do is getting over the staring first few hours hurdle of some RPG during maintenance if FFXIV ain't working out.
    Personal recommendations:
    Yakuza 0
    Persona 4
    Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana
    Trails in the Sky FC
    All chunky titles you could fall back to if the servers fail you but will only be extra added frustration if you not cleared the prologue prior ;)

    Don’t forget about DDos attacks
    I bet you Blizzard is going to try everything they can to sabotage them

    • @Miingno
      @Miingno  5 месяцев назад

      Hopefully the DDoS attacks will stop soon. If not, I might mention them in the next video... But I hope I won't have to 😅
      And I won't be pointing my finger on any party that may or may not be responsible or related to this issue without solid proof~

    Unless someone can point me to a patch note. I am pretty sure riding maps do not affect flying speed.

    • @Miingno
      @Miingno  5 месяцев назад +1

      You are correct. I just verified it myself, that this is no longer the case. Thank you for pointing that one out to me!
      I will cut this part out of the video. Sorry for the confusion!

    What class did you start as?

    • @Miingno
      @Miingno  5 месяцев назад

      I started 1.0 as Pugilist/Monk.
      The levels did carry over to ARR but I felt like changing it up and "started new" as Thaumaturge/Black Mage which I also finished the first saga with Endwalker with.
      Now I think I will switch to Gunbreaker for this second saga as I really started to enjoy playing it during post Endwalker content :D I'm gonna keep BLM as my secondary main though.
      What did you start as and are you still playing it?

  • @swiftxrt
    @swiftxrt 5 месяцев назад +1

    I can't freaking afford Dawntrail. They want 80 bucks for an addon to a 10 year old game? On top of the 15 bucks a month? Are they insane? That's completely ridiculous

    • @MissTayzha
      @MissTayzha 5 месяцев назад +5

      It's $40 if you already have the game. Hope that helps. Website says "In order to play Dawntrail, you will also need to own either FINAL FANTASY XIV Online - Starter Edition or FINAL FANTASY XIV Online - Complete Edition." Starter edition is $20 which does not include Endwalker. Complete edition is $24. The most you would pay is $64 starting new.

    • @swiftxrt
      @swiftxrt 5 месяцев назад

      @@MissTayzha it's currently 61.99 for the basic edition on steam, so not sure where you got he 40 dollar number from. seems to be made up. not sure why you would think making up a fake price would help me

    • @IRatchetI
      @IRatchetI 5 месяцев назад

      @@swiftxrt So, there are different countries in the world, all of which have different currencies of different values. Which, if you couldn't figure out already, effects the price based on where you live. For example, the base game in my country costs $28.95 and Dawntrail costs $59.95, which is different from both your costs.

    • @chestercarter6081
      @chestercarter6081 5 месяцев назад +2

      Free games cost more than sub games....unless you actually play them free

    • @Miingno
      @Miingno  5 месяцев назад +3

      Every expansion adds more than 30 hours worth of story with just the base x.0 patch. With the following patches over the next two years, that are also included, each adding more story, you are way over 200 hours of story content if you include raids as well. Yes, it is a big investment, but that price once every two years for 200+ hours of content, that's worth it for me.
      The monthly costs are a different beast indeed. I am lucky to have a reduced price since I come from 1.0 and therefore I am biased and won't comment on the amount they request for the service. A lot of people I know will play the new content for a few months and then pause their subscription to continue later where they have left off.
