  • Foam Sealants like Dow Great Stuff can be very hard to remove when dry. Here we show 2 foam applicator guns, one with a chrome finish, one with a Teflon finish. See what a difference Teflon makes.

    So why do you make a non-teflon one?
    Sure the cost is probably less for the other one, but you as a company could save money by eliminating a product and not needing to stock the extra duplicate parts in different forms and use that savings too make the teflon one a bit cheaper.

    Will these guns work with OSI pro sealant (made by Loctite)?

    Will the Home Depot foam cans and cleaners fit the Teflon gun?

      As long as the Home Depot cans are the Pro Cans, one without the straw, it will fit

    I don't know about this. I am currently using a pro 14 and a pro 14 extended version. Both plugged up in 2 days. I followed directions to the letter. I end up using the $ 8.00 gun cleaner more than I"m using the foam sealant. Any ideas ?

      I use the Pro 14 and had that happen the first time I used it. I left the valve open a little. Next time I closed the valve on the gun and stored it in a cool place with the gun attached to the can and the can standing upright. Came back a week later and it worked just fine (I forgot where I left it and have several guns). I only clean the guns every 6-12 cans as recommended by the manufacturer and a insulation contractor that uses these things every day. When it plugged up the first time I just took the gun apart and cleaned everything with some acetone.

      Thanks Jim. Every time I use it , even for a short time I always wipe the tip off with a rag and turn the regulator all the way clockwise. I'm going on my third gun and this third gun did the same thing. I attached some cleaner to the gun and finally it cleared up. I will use it today and see if it will work.

    how do you recommend cleaning a blocked gun?

    • @jimcoogan1529

      If the spray cleaner does not do it when attached to the gun I would take the gun apart. Its pretty simple and and at that point you just need something to poke through areas to clean things out.

    Then why not just teflon coat all your guns?

    • @AWFPRO
      @AWFPRO  6 лет назад +2

      Because some people do not want to pay a higher price for the teflon coated gun.

      I have both the teflon coated (Pro-15) and non coated (Pro-14). The teflon coated (Pro-15) ones have stainless steel barrels meant to last a long time I use them both a lot but neither gun really gets that badly coating when I use them. Might be because I do layers instead of trying to fill it all at once. Not sure.

    PFOA is why Teflon matters.
