If you're coming to Wales in the summer (please do, you would LOVE it) , you'd probably pack similar things to Norway but more like 80/20 in favour of shorts and t-shirts. Also for Ronald, swimming stuff in case Mads wants to bully you into swimming when it's too cold. ;) An ordinary umbrella will do and comfortable shoes because some of the best beaches can't be reached by car. If you run out of t-shirts while you're there, buy one that says on the front "I support only two teams: Wales and whoever plays against England". In fact buy one anyway because there IS no better souvenir. ;))))

I live near San Francisco, and tourists think because it is in California that it will be warm in Summer. Because of the Bay, and it being by the ocean, it can get very cold even in August. You see miserable travelers in shorts, shivering and buying sweatshirts at gift shops so they don't freeze. Obviously, freezing is relative, but the average temperature in Summer is 67* F (19* C). The quote is "The coldest Winter I ever spent was a Summer in San Francisco". It's not bad, but it's not Southern California, so a lightweight jacket, or sweatshirt and windbreaker to layer is a good idea. Now outside of The City it can get hot. The beaches in Northern California can be cold in Summer as well, but they might not be. I always take a jacket to San Francisco and the beach. Thank you for the video. I enjoyed it.

Hawaii - bring swim trunks, wrap-around sports type sun glasses (Maui Jim), light colored hat with wide brim, rash guard (for swimming. most people forget this but it will save your skin if you go into the water a lot), sun block SPF 35+, swim fins, mask & snorkel (you can rent/buy those here), water shoes (for getting in and out of rocky places), loose-fitting, light colored, long-sleeved linen shirt, cotton or linen shorts, light weight & color, airy pants in linen or open-weave cotton. flip-flops. A sweater and mid weight pants for the evenings in case it does cool down a bit. Make sure you book a place with Air conditioning! Love your delivery and content. :-)

Its that cold in Norway during the summer?!! I'm glad I listened in here, because I can only imagine shivering in the cold summer or rainy summer with only my t-shirt and my shorts! If you come here Ronald and Mads, if you stay only on the coastal plains where the beaches are, t-shirt, shorts and flipflops are o.k. If you want to come up to the central plateau during the wet summer, be sure to bring 1. an umbrella, 2.light blanket for sleep at nite and 3. a light wool or cotton sweater, with no Sun poking through the sky down at us and only clouds, it gets a bit chilly. ;)

I am in the UK, if you are packing to come here, bring Gore-tex walking shoes and walking sandals (you're going to be doing a lot of sightseeing), cotton socks, lightweight trousers, thin layers that you can pile on or off as needed ranging from T-shirts to fleece jumpers, and a rain coat. You can buy a brolly here if you like, but probably a rain proof hat would do you better. Basically, bring stuff for all weathers, but you almost certainly won't need shorts and definitely no swimsuit unless your accommodation has an indoor pool! This advice will apply for May-August. From September-April, same applies, but bring some heavier layers as well and a winter coat.

If you come to southwestern Pennsylvania in the summer bring shorts, t-shirts and flip flops. It gets hot and muggy here. Also bring a light jacket, jeans, tennis shoes, long sleeved cotton shirts and a hoody or sweater because you never know when the temperature will plummet. We can have summer, spring and fall all in one week during June, July and August. In the late spring this year we had winter (snow included), fall, summer and spring (in that order) in an 8 day period. Despite our weird weather I love it here. Our foliage is lush even in the city, our air is moist and we have hills and mountains galore. We don't get many pure sunny days so when the sun shines clear and bright we appreciate it. However, visiting Norway is now on my bucket list.

Coastal NC in the summer must haves: daytime- shorts, t shirts, swim suit; nighttime- jeans, t-shirts. At the beach you should have a windbreaker at night because when the sun goes down, the wind picks up and it can feel chilly next to the 95F days. Sunscreen, mosquito repellent, sunglasses and a sense of humor are necessities!
When this video started and you were peeling off clothes, I was saying: take it off, take it all off!! Hahahaha...

This video came a bit late for my trip to Oslo 😣... But I did reasonably well my packing anyway. No pinguin 🐧 outfit 😆. Except I got a serious storm one day and my umbrella☔ couldn't cope. It didn't occur to me to buy a Norwegian one. But I'm not a big fan of umbrellas anyway, hence the cheapo lightweight one I brought with me. I bought wool though, two nice, heavy Norwegian sweaters against which the Italian winter will have no chance, I'm sure.
So, tips for the Italian summer: Light clothing, sunscreen and sunglasses, as for every other proper Syden location 😎, but this is the obvious bit. Something more specific: a foldable water bottle to keep in your pocket and fill up at water fountains, to avoid being overcharged by vendors in touristy places, long trousers if you plan to visit churches and the like (in many places men wearing shorts or women with skimpy clothes are not welcome). Oh and about shoes, flip flops are OK at the beach, but if you visit a city you will end up walking a lot more than you expect so the shoes you suggest in the video are also the perfect choice for Italy, comfy above all else. What else? Oh yes, in big crowded cities (Rome, Venice, Florence, etc.) keep your money in the front pocket of your trousers and only a small amount for the day. The rest either at the hotel or in a safety pouch under your clothes. But don't worry too much it is pretty safe nowadays (with some little precautions😉). Relax and eat a lot, best way to enjoy my country 👍

I spent some time in Norge in the sixties. 1964, late July early August. We hung out on the square by the fjord in Oslo in beautiful warm weather. The sky and water were blue and the atmosphere was almost Meditterranean. And by 4PM on Friday afternoon the town closed down for the weekend so people could celebrate summer. Smart society. A few years later we experienced the rain of Bergen and freezing damp in Trondheim, but again, much nicer weather in the South East. Lovely country and so much friendlier than Sweden.

Hey Ronald! I'm back! Sorry for the slow slow reply but anyways nice video as always! About my trip in Bergen it has been incredible! All of the days were sunny anf beautiful. We explored the city, ate plukkfisk and bought lots and lots of stuff! Including a traditional sweater ;). I did buy an umbrella in Bergen btw, absolute beast umbrella. I went trekking on Fløyen and explore the trek routes. I took some stunning pictures on the road and on my birthday I took a boat trip around the city. There was fog till the half of the trip and then it retreated leaving a superb view. The boat captain was stunned. And yeah to all the people going to Norway take sunglasses! You'll need them!

Okay guys another great video. Fun & informative. Coming to Texas in summer. If you could get away with going naked??? It's illegal!!! You could get a bad burn on all those sensitive body parts too. Lots of swim suits & sunscreen. Summer hats, sunglasses, comfortable shoes. Nothing tight. Something to wear for dinner. Nice but casual. By the time dinner time comes around you will be ravenously hungry. Sandals, sneakers, & swimming shoes. Love you guys!!!

    Dear Ronald & Mads~
Another excellent video with Invaluable Tips! Now, if you were to visit my town, billed as the "World's Largest Resort City" in the summer, you would need: Shades, sunscreen, hat, sandals, bathing suit, casual dress pants and shirt for dining, and last but not least- Air Conditioning! An shopping excursion to the beach is a must to purchase the prerequisite tacky souvenier tee shirts!
However, I'm sorry to say that, though your packing tips were quite good, I'm afraid you missed the best one of all:
All you truly need to visit Norway is.... THAT SUITCASE!!! Nothing else matters! It is so wonderfully unbeige lol! 💕🧳💕😄👍

The uptight penguin, hahaha. I love your snake skin suitcase! At 4:40 we call that long underwear, or thermal underwear.
I prefer soCal where it's pretty much perfect weather year round. 77F (25C) is all the degrees anyone needs. To us 67F (19C) is cold and 87F (30C) is hot. If I have to wear a jacket at Disneyland in the evening, that's cold. Snow is something we drive to the mountains to visit and then we drive back home to the beach. Snow is for playing in, not living in! :D

I live in the redwoods in California, right on the coast. You'll be REALLY lucky if it's above 22 C here. Tourists come wearing shorts and tank tops and are miserable. Wear a tank top under a tshirt under a long sleeve shirt. Bring your light jacket too for the nights. Wear an extra layer when you go to the beach, because it's cold and windy right by the water. The redwood forest is always cool even when it's hot in the sun, so layering is essential. Wear shoes in the forest, because the poison oak goes right up to the edge of the trails!

We have a lot of tourists that come to the Iowa State Fair every year in August. Why? I don't know. It is hot hot 🔥!! But this is Iowa and the weather can change in a minute so when you pack, make sure you bring sunglasses, a sun hat ( to keep the sun off your face) sunscreen, shorts, tank top, t-shirt, athletic shoes (cuz you're going to do a lot of walking) and just in case bring a sweatshirt and maybe some jeans and an umbrella. Because sometimes the weather changes and we get cold rainy weather during the fair. But the weather aside, the Iowa State Fair kicks ass!!

Hei Ronald og Mads. Ha! You are giving correct advice but as you said, so many people think that all of Norway is covered in snow all year round!
This vid is great, I don't know how you get your ideas and inspiration but I am glad that you do.
Wool all the way for me it cannot be beaten.
Ha! an umbrella from Bergen- well it certainly rains there, similar to my part of the U.K. so if you visit me bring an umbrella each.
We have had some extraordinarily high temperatures and I know that you have had also. I hate strong sun- autumn is my favourite season, both in U.K and in Norway. This is yet another great vid, love to hear Mads off camera!
    Tusen takk.

If you visit Oregon, bring empty suitcases. We do not have a sales tax in Oregon, so visitors from areas that have high taxes find the prices for apparel and shoes to be very attractive here. Come with just what you are wearing on the plane, and fill up a full wardrobe here and take it all back home. I know a couple from Austria that does this each time they visit.

If you come to Chicago, Illinois a mixture of sweaters, jeans, shorts, tee shirts, light rain coat with a hood, umbrella, and walking shoes. Also a swimsuit so you can hang out at either Oak Street beach or North Avenue beach. You can see Chicago's very impressive skyline and if here in August can see the Air and Water Show from the both beaches.

FYI buying umbrella in Bergen... They sell the cheapo small ones that fit in your purse (and won't survive Bergen rain) as well... So look for the sturdy ones with thick metal ribs. I'm from Bergen, so I own a "sydvest" and proper rain gear, and leave the umbrella at home when the wind wants to fight me....

I just returned from a week in Oslo, and it was fabulous. Your tips on packing, saving money, and exploring the city were very helpful! I stayed in Grunerløkka, and visited Sentrum, Frogner, the mountaintop views, Grønland (briefly), Sørengkaia, and Bygdøy. You’re right-Aker Brygge is a tourist hell to be avoided; it was the only part of the city I didn’t like. I think was a big fan of SKAM, especially season three, so I enjoyed finding as many Isak and Even spots as I could.

Love your channel! If you ever come to Texas in the summer you will need to pack cotton shorts, cotton t-shirts (cotton is a must), sandals, sunglasses, sun block, and insect spray (mosquitoes are horrible here). It might be a good idea to bring a lightweight wind/rain jacket and umbrella, especially if it's early in the summer. Not so much in August. Lightweight, flexible sneakers are necessary if you plan to hike. A battery operated pocket fan is also a real good idea, especially for outdoor activities. This is especially true in South Texas where it's very humid. I promise you that you will not need anything made out of wool, so use the space in your suitcase for extra shorts and t-shirts and the lightweight pair of cotton denim jeans for going out to restaurants, etc. That about does it. Pretty simple, really. Bottom line, it's hot as hell here in the summer.

  • @khoney32
    @khoney32 5 лет назад

In southern United States you don't need wool in summer, that's for sure. Sandals or tennis shoes, a lot of people don't wear socks with their tennis shoes/sneakers, but that doesn't leave a great odor at the end of the day. Blue jeans, cargo shorts, cool t shirts, a bathing suit, an umbrella, and a thin jacket if indoors. We sometimes blast our air conditioners indoors. You guys could handle it I'm sure since you are used to the cold. Oh sunglasses, protective hat and a good sun block so you won't sunburn.
