An exhaust is for impressing the kids at the 7-11. Putting the power to the ground is where it's at. I definitely prefer a sleeper exhaust, even when i was in my early 20's. Thanks for the great content, Craig
Qweg uses it for revving it up at car shows, getting on it going thru tunnels or under overpasses, coming down the return road. You know juvenile stuff. It makes a lot of noise but not a drag car, more for parking lot cruises and car shows. He will figure it out in time, he's a smart kid.
@@just4giggles-ex5ne it gets attention and that translates to $$$ in the world of influencing social media. It's a different world from when I was his age, but he's getting a lot of things right too.
I'm 40 and have never owned a vehicle without exhaust and never will lol, I been driving my '14 gmc catless and muffless for 2 years, I bought it new and had true dual 5days after I got it and it was one of the first batch of them in town.
8.90’s in the 1/8 mile ??? Not bad at all Theres room for improvement i know its a video but first thing ya gotta know is it takes a good while for your standard flywheel to cool off after each pass … if your motor mounts n transmission mounts are good it shouldnt wheelhop and if it does put some caltracks on it … once thats done you can put slicks on it n come off the line as hard as you want .. id say your truck has the capability of going 7’s .. if you add nitrous you can ho low 7’s .. i run my 77 f100 down the 1/8 mile
The man, the myth, the legend Joe Morgan let you drive his truck…..i would feel special myself lol. Been an idol of mine since Hot Rod magazine featured his turbo pinto
I’ve been dying to see this make some passes. Does it have good axles and a locker? Now that your hooked you need some Caltrac bars, skinnies up front, as well as the other stuff you mention and it will go 7s for sure
Hey Craig what vehicle are you bringing to hot rod power tour? Also with the builds you have and the amount of money you put into them what auto insurance do you recommend for people who build racecars, trucks etc?
I have a question. I have a 68’ F250 Camper Special. It’s been 2 years since I got it but there have been multiple seasons where it’s down because of a problem. The condition is getting better from these fixes I’ve done. However, I really need a reliable vehicle now. Is it really worth keeping? What would you do?
Bro, i have a stock 5.0 93 F-150 xlt 4x4 and i want to start building it, i need suggestions on where to start, and with which parts. If you can help that would be AMAZING!
My car was in the low 8’s on stock replacement clutch and bald cooper cobras, never dyno’d the motor but I’d guess 300 or so hp this truck should easily be low 7’s possibly high 6’s
While I don't personally "hate" 1/8th mile racing, do think it's rather pointless. The race is basically over the moment is starts. The only real reason I can see 1/8 miles growing in popularity is because the speed of today's cars means they need more runoff space / braking distance than they used to. But it seems most tracks are either too underfunded or too lazy to extend the end of the track. So they move the scoreboard and turn it into an 1/8 mile.
Craig why not build an auto shift racer truck and get a good trailer and hauler to do racing with, that way you keep the fun of old standard truck for shifting fun but run the auto for beating on the race track,if breaks just tow home n rebuild.snookie pa😊😊😊😊
Sometime in July 2022 I drove a friends lightly modded 02 Camaro SS. Dyno’d around 350whp and that put it a little higher power than my daily (butt dyno estimate and knowing what others have made with the same car, no actual proof of what mine specifically makes), and a decent deal lighter. 😅 highest hp car I’d driven after that day. Then about 2 months after that, a friend of mine that’d moved to Cali came home for a prolonged visit and brought his 820whp procharged 2019 mustang GT back home to leave it here. He let me drive it while he was in town. Really put things into perspective that evening. 😂
Craig I think you should step out of your comfort zone and do a tesla swapped bump side! Short bed!!!! Its a whole diffrent world of speed and you can build some cool stuff!
I just can’t get into 1/8 mile. By the time I’m just starting to enjoy it, it’s over. I know it’s the new thing, but what’s next in 10 years? Running 300’ 🤷♂️
You do realize 90% if racing now is to the 1/8th right? Get in touch with the ways thing are now this isn’t 1980 anymore. Half the people that actually race go 5.50’s or better. That’s competitive in no prep starting out. Then you got guys like Brett in snot rocket clicking off 3 second 1/8th runs. What’s the point of the wear and tear when you’re running that quick. Also if your short track sucks why even run it out that far?
Man what would tie this truck together in the front… a good chin splitter 🥸 idk if they make them for these trucks but I know you could fab something up!

That exhaust makes my ears tingle. Sounds sooooooo rad!

Time to put the right clutch in it.

You need to tighten up your rear suspension, and lower the front of the truck about 4 inches!!!!
Call Dynamic Racing, they'll build you a C4 auto that will handle 1000+ hp.
Dare I say the single best sounding exhaust on an automobile?
Looks like you are short shifting…is it because you would over power the clutch?
Yes, If we ran it all the way out and flat foot shifted the clutch wouldn't hold it. & we were 100 miles from home.

I hate 1/8 mile racing. I have never physically even been to a 1/8 track. I don’t even know what times mean in an 1/8.
Why only 1/8 men run the 1/4
There is no reason to run a 1/4 mile in almost any car. Especially if your dont have your short track dialed in. Who needs to see a 14 second pass?
@@Kaclaytorright, nothing but fuel and engine wear for nothing in that last 1/8 if the first 1/8 aint figured out.
