    7:22 Lucy didn't "run into" Wilzig. She is the only stupid person in a flat desert that lights a fire at night which is why Wizig spotted and approached her.
    7:36 nope every single Vault Tec manager knew the code. Moldaver just only knew about him - that's why she specifically took him.
    7:50 Cooper knew a lot of people - that's what most A-listers at Hollywood do. They all have connections.
    8:00 it's not "contrived". Cooper is basically the Clint Eastwood of the Fallout universe and that's why he happens to marry a highranking manager and gets to know Moldaver. It's no coincidence that he met Hank, Bud and Betty - because they all work at the same place. He makes an ad for Vault Tec because as he himself says he beliefs that they are doing a good thing and because his wife literally works there. Moldaver obviously has connections to Vault Tec vmbecause they bought cold fusion from her. It's just like in real life - the rich, powerfull and famous meet and know each other just like in real life Hollywood. If the Fallout show is contrived than the real life is too.

    It's an extremely accurate adaptation. I laughed when you said the vault dewellers were a bit cartoony. That's exactly the vibe of the games. They swing wildly between being silly and cartoony to dark and brutal. The show absolutely nailed that. It's silly and stupid, heart wrenching and gory just like Fallout.

    Lucy is your first play through
    Maximus is your second play through
    Cooper is your third play through

    I feel like The Ghoul character is meant to be a multiple season character arc. Or if anything Lucy will be the character who has stuff happen to her that shows us what the wasteland does to a person like Cooper that leads them to become The Ghoul. I'm pretty sure they're just going for a simple where's my family/rescue my daughter arc for Cooper/The Ghoul like in a typical Western.
    Also for the faction theres a LOT of them and I do think you're supposed to be familiar with the game to know about them.
    SPOILERS If youre unfamiliar with Fallout New Vegas The Game:
    Even with that last scene it was a view of New Vegas/Las Vegas which has an ENTIRE video game based on it. They even show the one of the main character of the game Mr.House (The RobCo person) in the flashback in the Vault Tec boardroom meeting. Most of the people in that boardroom are also heads of companies that are shown in Fallout New Vegas and it's DLCs. So that ending did make sense why Hank is going there since it seems like he meeting up with his end of the world co-conspirators, also its going to canonize an ending to the game with Season 2 because Fallout New Vegas had SO many endings you could have played through and the ending are massive when it comes to whatever this show is going for whether its with the NCR, Brotherhood of Steel, Mr.House, Caesar's Legion and whatever happens at the Hoover Dam.

    14:49 I knew this would put people off but that's obviously one of the numerous homages to the classic Western movie "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" where legendary composer Ennio Moricone used yodeling too. I personally liked it. I love Ennio Moricone and Clint Eastwood and this movie specifically. I sometimes listen to film music in my fre time and Moricone is part of my playlist.

    Come on man, dont sleep on my boy norm. In my mind norm is the way he is because he is the son of a pre war manager who as far as i know was enhanced in some way by bud to be a better manager. He obviously dosent want to be a coward, but being a vault dweller, and a very small unaposing one at that, he is in a very interesting spot. I am really exited to see what happens with him in season 2 because things could go in a lot of different directions with him in a cryopod.

    I was wondering if him taking so many of the drugs not to turn had him remember his past self cleverer. Because when they are starting to turn they keep repeating their name, and being reminded of their past seemed to stop the effects, so the drug might help them by making their past life clearer. This might have had the Ghoul remember Cooper and his past growth.

      @Gr1ngle 4 месяца назад

      It’s an interesting theory, I saw another theory that he was taking rad-x, which makes since because ghouls are created through radiation, and radiation can cause cancer, so way I see it, ghouls take rad-x to stave off brain cancer, and feral ghouls are brain dead due to the cancer taking over. I wonder what the official lore explanation for the drug cooper uses is.

  • @cenauge
    @cenauge 4 месяца назад +1

    The coincidences aren't all that coincidental. The only real coincidence to speak of would be Lucy's mom meeting Moldaver. You could argue Maximus being a survivor of Shady Sands is another coincidence, but it's not as big of one--there were plenty of survivors of Shady Sands, someone of them were kids (the Vault 4 woman was a child, for example) and some of those kids might have been taken into the Brotherhood of Steel (or just Maximus, it's hard to gauge just how big the Brotherhood is in the area.)
    The Ghoul is interesting because he is and is not a character. Cooper Howard is the character; the Ghoul is like a force of nature, literally a revenant. The yodeling that is part of his theme is supposed to be unsettling because he is supposed to be unsettling. Goggins' charisma bleeds through to the point where you want to like the Ghoul, but he is objectively a horrifying creature, a specter of death that overturns the common sense of the era. He isn't supposed to grow and change; he has single-mindedly spent centuries fixated on finding his family--who knows what will happen when he finally does? He might instantly go feral depending on the circumstances.

      If they get to create several finishing seasons, this is the approach I prefer; small drips in every one. Even among all the Nuka Cola going on I'm pretty sure I even saw a Sunset Sasparilla in there. Deathclaws were already hinted at for the upcoming season, and I wouldn't rule out Cazadors or Night Stalkers. Securitrons, maybe even if all dead by now, is also a given to see. Mr.Handy's placement was well done. Not sure where I'd even put a Protectron in where the show have visited by now. Time and budget are obvious constraints.

    11:50 I think the ghoul became evil because he lost his family and he lost trust in humanity because his own lovely wife planned to start a nuclear war. Also he seems to be used to cannibalism and is a drug addict. Plus he seems to be 250+ years old and seems to struggle to keep his memories which is why he barely remembers his former self. He generally remembers that he was an actor and loved his family and dog but not much more.

    Honestly, I was really confused by the timeline. They make it seem like ghoul is hundreds of years old, but then he says to the dad “that girl used to serve my wife lemonade” or something similar. And maldova says to her “you thought your dad was born in the vault like you” but we know he was frozen in ice. And then the kid in the fridge wasn’t frozen so why is he so young? The whole time line seemed twisted. Was the girl ghoul was talking about not Lucy and was the bomb that nuked maximus’s family not the one that human ghoul saw with his daughter? That part I couldn’t figure out.

      Radiation in Fallout can turn people into ghouls (not all people and can affect other animals like gorillas). When you turn into a ghoul you stop aging some can be in their 20s and others will be in their 200s.
      Some Vault Tec Vaults like 31 or 111 have cryogenic facilities, some people can be frozen the entire time.
      The kid in the fridge is Maximus as a kid, he survived the nuclear bombing of Shady Sand which happened sometime in the 2280s (show is 2296)
      That last bit you had the was worded rathe poorly, but what I can gather is this. The human ghoul you keep saying is the pre war versions of the ghoul in the modern day fallout? Because if so that’s correct.
      The bomb that nukes Maximus occurred well into the 2280s maybe Nuclear Silos stayed intact post war, and they can often be found fully intact.
      Sandy Sands pre destruction was a fully developed city it the post war, it went from a butch of huts to the capitol of a fully industrialized civilization.
      Other fact you could use: on the west coast bottle caps were used as money due to a place called the hub which backed the caps with a set amount of drinking water. Then via trading caravans spread to the rest of the country

    With a deeo depth of field, that might make scenes look flat. With long shots it's much better to have focal lengths that put your actors in focus and leave the background slightly out of focus. Plus, they might have done some things post-production, if they shot digitally, to make the image look more like film.

    Stop criticizing coincidences. Without coincidences there are no stories to tell. In Star Wars R2 and 3PO miraculously find Kenobi on a desert planet. This is absurd but there would be no Star Wars without this coincidence. Catelyn Stark finding Tyrion in a random tavern in GoT is also very unlikely, but it leads to amazing storytelling. Lucy finding the scientist isn't lazy storytelling - the story is told BECAUSE of this coincidence. Just think about your greatest stories. Mine always start with "You won't believe it, but..." and I hardly believe them myself, but these weird incidences happened. Do yourself a favor and enjoy storytelling without this unnecessary critical thinking. For me this show was a solid 9/10. The reason why it wasn't a 10 (and believe me, I wanted it to be a 10 as a Fallout fan) was the inconsistent CGI (mostly good but sometimes horrible as you said in the video) and the weird physics.
