KF101 MAX and MAX 1 do not inflate the distance and height :) they give the result in feet ;) so what you see on the display, although it is scaled in meters, is actually in feet and should be divided by 3. For example, 900 m on the display is actually 300 m. I have 2 KF101 max drones, one is already 2 years old and it shows all the parameters perfectly, the second one I bought recently and, like yours, the parameters are displayed in feet ;) I compared the distance on both drones and the results confirm what I wrote. In addition, I checked the distance on the map and both drones show the distance perfectly, but one in meters and the other in feet ;) As for me, they are really cool drones ;)
I haven't tested the new drone at what distance it will fly, but the older one easily reaches 2000 m and at this distance the image starts to stutter slightly, with reflector antennas the image jam appears at 2500 m ;)
Its very close to feet but I intentionally did not call it 'feet' as repeated tests with mine resulted in 25% of a meter ( I used 3 methods to confirm this). I use drones for surveying and accuracy is important. The S808 (possibly a rebrand) was displaying REAL feet (30% of meter) in contrast to KF101. Either way, the measurement in both drones are fake, as the distance label is again in Meters not feet. Its advertised as 5000m FPV drone and only reached 5026 'fake' meters for me. I agree its a great stable & fun flyer though. I suspect the 3000m KF101 Max's are sold as 5000m drones (by adjusting the distance multiplier) - The drones look exactly the same except for higher capacity battery. 2000m is believable.Taking Pics, kills the fpv though. Hello again ;) It's a bit strange that the KF101 max 1 drone, which in the specification in conditions without disturbances should approach the distance of 5000 km, reached less than 2 km. In your video, I noticed that the HD signal suddenly disappears completely. As if something was jamming the signal, although it's strange because the drone was flying in a beautiful area without buildings ;) My KF is the MAX version which in theory should reach 3000 m and it seems to me that it is real. I tested the distance of the drone with and without reflector antennas, it was a test of this drone that actually shows the parameters in meters, i.e. 2000 m on the display corresponds to such a distance and up to 2000 m there is no problem with the preview, after this distance the image stops, at 2500 m drone turned back on its own due to low battery. With reflector antennas you can easily reach 3000 m ;) if the battery would allow, I currently have a 3000 mah battery but so far the weather in Poland does not allow for any drone flights ;)
The new KF, the one that, like your MAX 1, shows the distance in feet, I flew to a distance of 6000 m (feet) which corresponds to 2000 m, which is identical to my older KF101 max drone. Measurements on the map confirmed it. On the internet I saw tests of kf101 max 1 which reached almost 4000 m after dividing the distance from the display by 3 ;)

@ Thanks for your link mate. Can you use google maps to pick 2 landmarks (at least 200m apart), measure the distance and then fly drone between them for drone's distance reading? Point cameria down and use crosshairs on drone to ensure you reached the markers? Can you send me the link of it reaching actual 4000m (really interested in this)! So you have Max1/Plus as well and its range is the same as the Max (like I suspected)? No jammers - beyond that point is a massive State forest (unless theres a UFO there! 😆) -I also switch off all radios near me when I do distance tests.

at the moment, unfortunately, I can't test the drone, I can't fly at all because of the bad weather in Poland, we still have winter weather and strong wind gusts up to 40-50 km/h I checked the first KF 101 MAX drone as you said and I'm sure his telemetry is consistent with what the app and remote show. The new drone is also a KF 101 MAX but it has the same problem as your KF 101 MAX 1. Telemeria scaled in meters but the result is in feet ;) My both KF 101 MAX drones according to the specifications are able to fly at a distance of 3000 m with the possibility of viewing and controlling , in practice I managed to reach 2000 m (with reflector antennas 2500 m) with a smooth view and at a distance of 2500 m the drone automatically returns to the starting point due to battery exhaustion. As soon as the weather allows and it will be a little warmer (currently it is -2 degrees Celsius and strong wind) there will be further tests, including a test of larger antennas for the 2.4 G band with reflector amplifiers ;) a big hug for you friend from distant Australia ;)

I know these drones probably better than anyone else you will ever come across ever. As the person said in the comment before me, they are correct. The distance is in FEET rather than METERS I'm not sure why it shows M. Now, as far as the lagging, these drones do not do well with a thick surrounding such as trees, you will have to get higher than the trees to reduce lag and to go further. Now the best thing to get with these drones are $15 Antenna Remote boosters and that will terminate the lag completely and you will get at least 2X distance range. I had this same exact drone with the booster I mentioned attached to the antenna and I got the MAX DISTANCE ALLOWED BY THIS DRONE which was 15,750(M) FEET and it just would not go any further so I guess the software is only designed to let you fly it this far. Try the boosters, you wont be disappointed. It has to be the plastic or metal mirror boosters, the rubber ones SUCK!
Thanks Mikey. Sounds good. Although mine was close, its not exactly in feet - I performed several tests resulting in 25% of a meter exactly each time (but kept video short). I do have line of sight to drone - I need to face the drone towards that line of site for video purposes in future! :) Im at least 100ft above the mountain range on my 2nd range test and about 400ft above the trees at my homepoint. Are you saying vegetation surrounding my line of sight can also have an effect? Have flown a ZLL SG108 Pro (800mFPV) to 700m+ FPV in same direction though
Memory card onboard of this drone, even greater then 32 GB, has to be formatted only as FAT!
The m (meters) should be ft (feet) , then its acurate. just calculate about 1/3 of what it says and you got it about right in meters.

Does your controller plug into the phone with a USB cable? If not, then it's not truly a kf101 MAX 1 it's just a kf101MAX.
I returned the drone over a year ago as it didnt meet the specification. I do not recall it plugging in, so may have been sent the wrong version - Although the battery size matched the KF101 Max1. Nice reliable flyer though

Yes you can do that if not satisfied for the performance., buy another drone that will make you happy and satisfied..
he not beeing honest or he bought the 5km version and the seller send him the weaker version off wifi without usb cable and wifi amplifier !!!People should know their drones before inducing people in error with youtube videos !!!this drone is great !!! It goes to 17000 feet ( 5.3km ) in my area !!!Noobs !!!
I own a few. There are lots of reliable drones but I want to encourage the newer manufactures too. This one was honestly a good flyer and as others have suggested and I suspected I may have been supplied the incorrect model (Comparison was not easy with information available at the time). If the actual model does 5km, I might buy another and try

I asked the seller and a few others at the time, and no one was able to help with that. Its roughly in feet instead of metres (but not quite feet either) - You just assume it feet. Still flies around nicely

Aliexpress sells them. As some of the commentators have indicated try to ensure you get the model where cable connects from remote to phone
Why you trying to make the drone be bad ???this is not the max 1 S (5km ) version!!! if the phone doesnt conect to the controler by cable is the weaker version without wifi amplifier inside the controller !!!!! that version giving 900m is alot !!! Why people LIE !!!!!
Why do you assume I'm trying to make it look bad? Its an honest review based on the advertisement by seller - What do you think I gain by lying? I did this for the benefit of others as there were no KF101 videos when I made this. I suspected it was the incorrect model but could not prove - Comparisons at the time did not mention cable connecting to controller & have since seen other videos of them flying further without cable (Are you referring to Max 1 or Max1S? ). I returned it as it was not as advertised. Obviously if I paid less for lower range model I would not draw attention to the 900m range. In any case, the world can be cruel place, please be patient and respectful.
