Pam here…. Save your time and money building these little limited use chicshaws. Put a perimeter electric netting around all your boxes and a nice large rolling chicken house and let them do your boxes in the spring. Consider your garden box zone to be one of your rotational pastures for them. They can come back in the fall as well, to clean up when stuff is done producing and harvested.

As we don't see kids for a while there's that moment when you hear their voice and say "I know that voice. Only it came from somebody that was shorter, less hair." Yes, it was Jonah on the camera.
Lilly was spot on and didn't get ornery when she was right. She worked with it and you gave her the props she deserved.
That chicken tractor compared to those of the past seems to be a real coup of a Cadillac Coop. Something to ruminate on my friend would be a freeze dryer. Powdered eggs according to those dirt busters to the south of you at Cog Hill is pretty good, not too bad. Freeze dried veggies last for years. I love spinach, beet greens and more. Canning destroys some of the nutrients and you can rehydrate using chicken or beef stock.

Hoping things settle down after the move so we can get back to the VLOGs we love and come for. These types of video are wonderful, but as supplements or like when life is crazy and filming is taking a backseat. It was wonderful when you switched back to the longer more informal VLOGs last year, and the 100 days of building the new homestead was wonderful content. But it sure does feel like things have changed (and not for the better) since returning from your vacation. The daily VLOGs are what many/most of us come for, and it doesn't matter if there is repetition, you do a great job narrating and story telling, and when you release vlogs daily or 3-4 times a week, its the first thing I tune in to watch. These videos... I'll just sum it up as meh in terms of replacing the VLOGs, but for supplements in addition to the VLOG they would be nice. A little more subject oriented following a project or theme over a longer period of time is nice.

Pam here….just put electric netting around the whole patch of the garden boxes. Let the chickens free range and have large rolling chick-Shaw at one end for about 20 of them. A lot less work and monkeying around. Easier to get the eggs and chickens got more space. Just treat the garden space as one of the rotational grazing spaces for them to do. Then putting chickens on it to till it up and remove the cover crop over the course of 2 weeks per bed. Why not just leave it covered with the plastic tarp so it's ready or just not plant any cover crop so it's just empty or a few weeds the chickens can take care of in a few days?
