Big thanks as always! Lately I watch your vids preloaded on my iPad and for that the character size was a bit small. Still readable, but I think maybe two up would be better.
Hey Sean, can you tell me an app on the App Store you worked on and what portion of it. I really wanna see what kind of things people at your level work on
my portfolio is on my website... seanallen.co. That being said, on those projects, I just did version 1.0. Those apps have been worked on since my contract has ended, so I'm not sure what state they are in now. My current company's app will launch in Q1 of 2019.
Hi sean. I have an mid 2012 mac pro, 2.5ghz, 4gb memory.. and its time for me to get a new one. the issues i had was that it was pretty slow.can you guide with what specs do i need to keep in mind to do ios development without crashing the bank :) where can we look for deals
I'm not a very good shopper when it comes to cheap, good deals. I know this may sound privileged, but when it's time for me to buy a new computer, I just buy the latest version with high end specs (it's expensive). That being said, if you're trying to save money, I'd recommend a 2015 with at least 8GB of RAM. I'd say that's the minimum you should go for.
Hi sean, do you have any ideas how to change pagecontrol border color? I tried to find it on google, but none of them had the solution. some of them said, I had to use third party library
Good video, can you make a tutorial how to name this 0.0.1, when to change what number and etc. I know there is a lot info about it, but this will be great if you explain this as you can :)
Those 3 numbers should be according to your standards. Commonly done as first number breaking changes, middle number feature addons, last number bugfixes IIRC. Then again FF ups the first number at given intervals; every 3 months?
Hey Sean, Is there a way for Xcode to automatically increment the build number? for example. every time you build the app, the build number increases by 1.
There should be an option to grep or pull something from versioning( git or similar, ) for build number. Not sure how to do this in XCode, there is probably some build settings for running a script to count the number of commits. Such as ```git rev-list --count ``` or ```git rev-list --all --count```
i am interested in swift.. but how similar is it to kotlin? because i read somewhere it is similar, like we can just change some swift code to make it kotlin.. note that, i still did not learn both of them as i currently on web development. but interested in going to mobile development, but of course, ability to write for both android and iOS using kotlin and swift is good because i believe right tool should be use for right purpose..(i.e kotlin for android and swift for apple ecosystem)
@@seanallen nope..i want to clarify that i want to learn both kotlin and swift..but i did mentioned flutter because i am afraid you will ask me to learn that instead of learning kotlin and swift.. Dont misunderstood.. I receive lots of suggestion to learn hybrid or cross platform instead of native..thats why i mentioned that before you do so
done edit my comment.. so what's your answer? i want to know how similar swift to kotlin.. i read somewhere that iOS development have some difference with android..but that's okay..the real deal i think would be how to rewrite swift code to kotlin code.. so that i can write for both platform while having knowledge on both language.. of course i can't rewrite all since apple have some unique feature such as 3d touch for example, but if it is similar in term of language.. i think the journey will be smooth..
I'm a fan of native and I would learn that (that's why I did). I'm a full-time Swift developer, and I don't really know Kotlin. All I know if it is from reading a little about it, and it seems similar to swift.
Hi #Sean Allen can u make tutorial on NSNotificationCentre ,APNS, Firebase PushNotification and basics concepts on Remote and Local from Scratch for beginners on Notification Thanks in advance
I am so happy for this video, thank you Sean Allen!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Also useful to telling clients what version they are using under UAT and we are improving .
Great video! I'm liking this channel by the day cause of so many tutorials we can learn from !
Happy you're enjoying it Viktor. Thanks!
As always thanks for another great video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hi Sean, great tutorial. Will it be possible to set your font size to presentation mode in future tutorials? Many thanks!
I normally do... I forgot in this one. My apologies.
beautiful. Also Sean I would love to see some Git / Version Control ( brancing, merging ) videos in the near future etc..
Thanks. I'll add those topics to my list. So many topics.... lol.
Another great (and quick) tutorial
Big thanks as always! Lately I watch your vids preloaded on my iPad and for that the character size was a bit small. Still readable, but I think maybe two up would be better.
Thanks for the feedback. I'll be sure to bump up the font a bit.
How are you liking Xcode 10? Thanks for the build-time tip. I love comparing different apps’ build times.
So far so good, but I'm not using it in a production environment yet. I've only been using it for these tutorials. That'll change soon tho.
XCode has never crashed this little since 3.2.6
Simple. Useful. Thank you
Hi Sean, Could you please create a tutorial of a very simple tableView using MVVM?
Thanks Sean, u saved my day ......
Happy to help, Sandeep 😀
Thanks Sean!
Happy to help, Sergei 👍
Useful tip got it! I wonder if you are using tools like karabiner to move the cursor?
Nope. No extra tools there.

Yeah, I forgot in this video. I normally do.
Thank you very much!
Could you increase the font size of the code, Sean? I'm struggling to see it. Thanks for the video.
Hey Glenn, I normally do... I forgot in this one. My apologies.
Tis okay. I downloaded the code and can follow along now. Thanks.

Nice tvideo. Curious if you have thought about developing a similar video for SwiftUI 3 and Xcode 13.3.1 ? Thanks !
Thank you so much

Not sure how to do this in XCode, there is probably some build settings for running a script to count the number of commits. Such as ```git rev-list --count ``` or ```git rev-list --all --count```
You could add a shell script. Check this tutorial: crunchybagel.com/auto-incrementing-build-numbers-in-xcode/
This will do, @SeanAllen place this link in the comments of the video itself?
Or like this:
```
buildNumber=$((/usr/bin/git rev-list --count master))
/usr/libexec/PlistBuddy -c "Set :CFBundleVersion $buildNumber" "${PROJECT_DIR}/${INFOPLIST_FILE}"
```
Perfect. Thanks so much for your help :)
👍🏾
Hey Sean, can you update this for SwiftUPI?
never mind, got it:
(let) appVersion = Bundle.main.infoDictionary?["CFBundleShortVersionString"] (as?) String
(let) appBuild = Bundle.main.infoDictionary?["CFBundleVersion"] (as?) String
1 000 000$ MAN!
Thanks EK 👍

I think you meant to leave this comment on my video about Flutter.

i get idea from this

I'm a fan of native and I would learn that (that's why I did). I'm a full-time Swift developer, and I don't really know Kotlin. All I know if it is from reading a little about it, and it seems similar to swift.
What does `K ` Stands for?
It's a naming convention indicating it's a constant
Hi #Sean Allen can u make tutorial on NSNotificationCentre ,APNS, Firebase PushNotification and basics concepts on Remote and Local from Scratch for beginners on Notification Thanks in advance
Push notifications are on my to-do list. However, Firebase is not. I've never used it, and it's not commonly used in production apps.
