I can relate to your story as I found out about asexuality when I was about 40, and aromanticism a few years later. Thank you for sharing your story, Elin! Arophoria forever! 💚🤍🩶🖤🩶🤍💜
Thank you for sharing! I think it's so great when older adults share their experience because it allows other adults to also be more truthful with themselves. I also came to terms with my Ace identity in my 30s and I love seeing other people coming out and embracing their identity cause it gives me courage to keep true to myself.
This Valentine’s season, you all should try celebrating Modomnoc’s Day. It’s an obscure holiday originating from an Irish saint who befriended the bees and cared for the gardens. I learned other aromantic people started recently claiming this holiday as the friendship version of Valentine’s Day. Especially because it is the day before (Feb. 13). I am hosting the first ever Modomnoc’s Day at my college CalArts as the aro-ace ambassador of the large queer student population. The great thing about it is that everyone can feel welcomed, because friendship is a universal love. And also, it can serve as a time for the asexual people to cheerfully reclaim the ignorance of others. (Being called a plant, algae, etc.) Well, you’ve got it. I will have bee and flower crafts, as well as leafy crown and bee antenna gifts. The food will be honey, crackers, cheese, fruits and apple cider. It’s gonna be a great time. 🐝💐
ahhh this is so so amazing and i can't even put into words how much it means that aro floof is there too!!!! ohhh thank u Elin for being you and inviting us into your story! it's always so amazing to see you grow 💚
Thanks for sharing! Wow that horizon DOES have the aromantic flag colors! I'm almost 43 and I came out as aro at 41! I may be Ace as well but currently I identify as arofluid since there are several microlabels on the Aromantic and Asexual spectra that describe me. I could be aegoromantic/demisexual but arofluid is faster to say, haha.
This is such a beautiful video full of authenticity, joy and acceptance. The editing and Elin’s story came together incredibly and touched my heart. I shed a few tears, especially at Elin’s message to other aro people at the end because as an aroace person I often feel forgotten and worry about having a lonely future devoid of love and connection, and that can be such a heavy burden to carry alone. Thank you so much for sharing this with the world. These are the type of videos that truly make a difference to queer people because of their raw authenticity. 💜💚
Thanks for this comment, Shannen! It can be a very lonely burden. And I just hope we can see each other more and share our stories because I feel that sharing of vulnerably and struggles can make them easier to deal with. I’m glad to hear this video gave you hope and I’m glad I found and read this comment! 💚🤍🖤

Thank you for the beautiful video and thank you for sharing your story Elin! It feels reconforting to know that there are other aces/aros around gothenburg :). *You* are valid ✨
I’m 4 hours away from Gothenburg but there are many aces and aros everywhere. I think one of the most precious things about finding out I’m aroace is to get to know other people with the same kind of experiences. 💜
I'm watching this a bit late, but I absolutely loved your story, Elin! I love my little feature in the photos as well 🙈😅 walking in that parade with you was one of the best experiences of my life!
