- Pierce Brosnan in The Living Daylights, i’ve heard a lot of people mention that recently. So what if Brosnan was in TLD, Walter Gotell had been well enough to have a larger role and Pet Shop Boys did get the title theme? Using ‘This Must Be The Place I Waited Years To Leave’ by the Pet Shop Boys and making some edits to the original title sequence, here’s what The Living Daylights could have been like! #JamesBond #TheLivingDaylights #PierceBrosnan
If Brosnan had the role and this as a theme. Perfect match 👍🏻
Although It would have been interesting to see Brosnan in Daylights, I feel like Dalton was perfect in the film which is why its my favorite film in the series. I do however think Brosnan in Casino Royale would have been good and with the rejected theme by Sandra which really fits his bond would have been interesting.
Honestly if Dalton did all the Brosnan movies, then Brosnan would have done Casino Royale
Aww thanks for doing this man. Not to take away too much from Tim, but I feel strongly that Pierce should have been in this movie as he would have been able to easily be that brooding assassin and at the same time slip into comedy, romance and charisma much more effectively. I still miss him to this day :).
I take it youve seen the documentary Everything or nothing and Brosnans Goldeneye commentary? I know he has said in hindsight he's glad he didn't do this because of his maturity as an actor and the fact that the series was delayed for 6 years, but I feel he would have been better off financially and been able to Live in the UK and have plenty of offers for roles in movies during that 6 years and knowing that his wife would still have passed away, at least he would have been in a better situation than he was. Still hoping that the screen test will be found one day of him being Bond :)
I would love to see the Dalton screen test as well, its weird that we don't have any of the screentests for the main actors as a special feature on any DVD.
@@LicencetoWho ahh yes good point as we see screen shots on the documentary 'inside the living daylights' but no reel. hopefully those idiots didnt just throw them away and there are kept somewhere inside someones closet or studio vault
Brosnan was too young at this time to play Bond. He was 32 years old at this time but looked like 22. Watch Remington Steele from 1987 and you'll see what I mean.
Then u must find it odd that Connery starred in Dr Nó at the age of 32
@@thesecondloneranger4458 You're absolutely right. However, Connery looked older than 32 when he was 32, in my opinion. Brosnan at 32 looked more like 27 or 28 whereas Connery looked more like 38. Again, this is just my opinion.
The actual titles if pierce didn't do season 4 for Remington steele
How would Brosnan being in it cause the title track to get changed?
Season 4 was over by the time production of The Living Daylights started, he was approached as the question of whether or not season 5 would happen
That could have been interesting. Just imagine if Timothy dalton comes back as James Bond role and set during the 1991. Maybe pierce brosnan . Opening title be performed by pet shop boys.
If he started earlier Bronson might be known today as the definitive bond
To the millennials (and probably a fair portion of gen x and gen z), he is.
Definitive Bond - Brosnan
Retro Bond - Moore
@@sandr6769 retro is still Connery
Slick...I love it👌
Good work.
Thank you :)
Here’s my fanmade cast if Brosnan was in TLD:
Pierce Brosnan - James Bond
Elisabeth Shue - Kara Milovy
Clifton James - Brad Whitaker
Johannes Brandrup - Georgi Koskov
Piotr Adamczyk - Necros
Yorgo Voyagis - Kamran Shah
Michael Biehn - John Walker (since Goldeneye has Jack Wade instead of Felix Leiter, this is my theory)
Walter Gotell - General Gogol
John Rhys-Davies as Defence Minister Leonid Pushkin
Ben Cross - Saunders
Samantha Bond - Moneypenny
Edward Mulhare - Bill Tanner
Edward Fox - Minister of Defence
Angela Lansbury - M
Nice!
Was this definitely going to be the theme with Brosnan for an absolute fact?
It's so much more epic than the one we got
Yes. One of the PSBs said so in an interview. It got rejected by John Barry.
@@sickpup820 link?
Epic!
How did you change TD to Brosnan?
Amazing. Maybe in a parallel universe this was the opening sequence of TLD. But the one we know is also fine.
This type of Bond style would’ve elevated Brosnan to 00 God status as a James Bond. He’d be the best Bond since Connery.
No disrespect to Dalton, but Brosnan was a better Bond. I personally think Brosnan is the 3rd best Bond. Better than Craig.
You must be joking if you think Brosnan is better than Craig. He had only one good movie in GoldenEye and then got let down by bad scripts afterwards (Tomorrow Never Dies at least tries to be entertaining from an action perspective). Besides, Dalton should of done two more if it weren’t for MGM’s financial issues.
@@LexingtonDeville984 I think Craig is the better actor but out of the two, Brosnan’s my preferred Bond. I think if there had been more of a standalone story for Craig’s Bond between Quantum and Skyfall it could have elevated his Bond but the fact that we go from newly appointed 00 to “he’s past it” is quite jarring. It’s more of a writing issue than an acting issue for me at least.
I agree :)
@@LexingtonDeville984 TND and TWINE are very solid Bond outings. Brosnan is more Bond than Craig.
@@SamR1995 Btw why didn’t you try something new with the Credits. It’s cool you managed to fit a different Title Card with some editing there. But you should of changed the Visuals. It’s very basic and its not as memorable as LTK’s visuals. It does slightly fit with this but it will flourish with something else. And the only memorable thing I can remember is that Lady who looks like she lost something in the dark and shot at some Credits.
I prefer The Living Daylights A-ha
Well, obviously A-ha fits well for Dalton, but if Brosnan started earlier in this movie and NBC didn’t do season 4 of Remington Steele, this would have been the theme song
