oh my gosh. This was easily my favourite season until I watched 22. Honestly, Amber would have been my least favourite and my pick for villain of the season even if her only crime was being the wall between Nikki and her black jacket; but Amber went above and beyond to make herself dislikeable! Good job Amber, great TV sometimes. My top 5 before watching: 1: Nikki 2: Mary-Lou 3: Cody-Lou 4: Jordan 5: Declan But I just love this entire cast, man. Lauren is a boss because she got shit on the entire time and NEVER let it sway her confidence. She was a good chef, a perfectly mid-to black jacket boot. I love her for that. I love Jordan partly just because I love seeing talented queer representation. She was earnest and honest just like Tommy from season 9 and while she could get a bit mean, you always knew it was coming from the heart. "That bitch can fry anything!" I appreciate Marc a lot more knowing what he would go on to accomplish post-HK. I think he genuinely was a passionate guy with a ton of talent; he just had an attitude... like most chefs. I still hate how he acted tho! Wait what? People say Kori has a boring personality??? Who what where? Kori was the every-season-mandatory Mom of the red team this season! I'm SHOCKED you didn't mention during Jordan or Kori that Kori was there for Jordan and kept her sober ass from drinking again. Girls supporting girls, give me all of that. I love Kori, she's easily my #6 and I just wish I lived in the universe where she didn't fuck up the mexican challenge. Adam absolutely deserved that one. Cody-Lou is one of my favourite male contestants of all time. He's pretentious and full of himself but he walks the walk and didn't go out of his way to treat his opponents like crap. From what I remember he did get nicer as the season went on, too. He also used some of the most clever bullshit wordplay I've heard to get Marc eliminated and I GOTTA respect the silver tongue for that lol. Rolled a 20 on his charisma check. Mary-Lou pretty much tops my list just because she's fucking adorable and lights up the screen every time she's on it. She was good enough to hit the finale while having enough charisma and personality to charm a psychopath. That's all I can ask from a reality tv contestant, tbh. I think she deserved 3rd tho. edit: I forgot to mention we also all owe her twenty dollars. I would absolutely agree Declan is the best chef of the season. Marc went on him about eggs but as a cook, personally... I'm with Declan. Eggs are easy to get a little bit incorrect, the timing is within seconds. Because of that, a screw up takes about a minute to fix. Declan was right that he blew it out of proportion; and that tells me he knows what he's talking about. I respect him for that and being the blue team's season-mandatory-teddybear. I’m honestly kind of glad Mary Lou didn’t win, not because I don’t like her or anything. But like if she won, then Amber would’ve continued hounding Kori for not picking her. Perhaps the best chefs talent wise since 14 but changes need to be made. Mary Lou needs to be lower than 3. More along the lines of 16 ahead of Amber and Marc. She was so annoying and was really getting on my nerves. Same with Peter cause no one likes a quitter.
