Awesome raft guide. Where is this river located?

Frustrating to watch the swimmer not trying self rescue. You have to swim with purpose. Loved the guide. Most folks don't realize that many paddlers need aggressive commands to stay focused and in the boat.

Excuse me but the last drop of Lost Paddle is just called Tumblehome, not Tumblehome to sweet Jesus... Me thinks the guide is confusing this with a rapids called "Take me home sweet Jesus" upstream on the Meadow River that is on his left.
To the ones who are praising the guide for the rope throw: that was a bad decision on his part based on where they were in the rapids. This situation could have taken a nasty turn if the rope hung up on rocks and passengers were tangled up in the rope. And dammit man, make up your mind about what you want your crew to do! "Forward, stop, forward, stop" ; learn how to drive the boat smoothly and don't show panic with your voice!
FYI, I've guided the Gauley since 1976 (and still do). Things can escalate quickly and bad decisions can lead to death... It ain't no log flume ride!

Michael, I’m with you on most of your comment. I personally prefer a calm guide experience even in dangerous circumstances. However, tumblehome has some nasty sieves, particularly top left before the drop, which in the video it appeared the swimmers were headed towards it. I’m sure you’re likely aware of this having guided the gauley for 26 years, just wanted to throw that out there.

I trust that guy without any reservation, whatsoever... none.
      You... not so much.
