This is a nice change up from house construction, but both are enjoyable.
I'm a Biker/Hot Rodder and I'm often stunned by the creations within my community and some of the amazing end results. I never once thought there might be a similar cohort of crazies in the airplane world but hey, why not - right? You are living and working in another dimension Mike - fascinating what you get into!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS! I have been dying to see more about Turbulence and you have delivered. You’re an inspiration for all of us!
I knew Turbulence is an amazing aircraft, but I’m really excited to see how Mike made it that way!
It is interesting that Mike built the fastest turboprop in Turbulence and then turned around and built a turboprop that has probably the slowest speed capability in Draco.
@@SkyWriter25 you’ve got to love Mike’s versatility 👍
I lived in Spanish Fork Ut from to 2006 to 2017, and every so often I would hear/see a single prop plane moving as fast as a bullet over town. That had to been you! Sounded amazing too!
That's wonderful! I can watch this because there are no sudden, annoying sound effects to make me jump out of my seat. Awesome. Thanks, Mike.
I am sooo stoked for this! I love your other builds, but for me, this is the one I am most excited to learn about. New footage of her flying would be stellar too!
Not that you ever stop but It’s Back To Work.. Thank you for all that you do for the love of Aviation, very inspiring Mike.
So fast it apparently blew Mike's hair off. ;-) But seriously, this is going to be so good!!! :-)
TURBO-LENCE #1
Now that’s a name that I can get behind 🤣
Cheers Mike!!! You Sir, are a true LEGEND!
Thank you Mike for being one of my aviation legends. I have the Scrappy spar segments on my desk as well as a signed cap by Joe McBryan of Buffalo Airways.
YES! I have been hoping for this.
Mike, you are both blessed and a blessing. I admire and love you, maaaan! ❤😊
Yet another subbie looking forward with great enthusiasm to watch the upcoming series. 😀
This is so exciting! Really looking forward to the rest of this series and seeing some of what went into this amazing plane. Thanks for taking the time to put it out there!
I've been waiting so long for this series!😍
Finally! I've been waiting years for this. Thanks Mike!
Back to Aviation! Amazing! You've been away too long! Really been looking forward to this!
Gorgeous piece of art. I'm not normally a fan of that deep orange color, but the shape and design of that beauty really lends itself to a flashy color like orange.
Aweeeesome! I've been waiting for something like this! All the best!
Turbulence is so freaking awesome!! Can't wait to see this series!
AND DAMNIT! IT'S ABOUT TIME. Thanks Mike I can hardly wait😃
Hi Mike, very glad you expanded on this aircraft. What you did is the dream of many turned into reality. Awesome job
Back to planes ! Yea ! Confession......I don't know why, but watching you build that huge house with ridiculous features made me jealous that I never built "my dream house." We have a super nice house just off the Mississippi, great neighbors, surrounded by nature, bike paths, parks, etc. But of course, I, like many Mike's and my age, somehow we all got a bug that said, "Build your own house, your dream house." I've now realized that this will never happen. I don't usually struggle with jealousy (which I'm embarrassed to admit) and you and your family worked your tails off for what you have, it's all earned and then some. Anyhoo.....I was away and it was honestly my own issues. I'm working on it. Love to you and yours Mr. Patey. Let's do planes ! 🙂
Always been a huge fan of the Lancair kits. Turbulence is such an incredible airplane and I’m so glad you were able to buy it back and keep it in the family!!
On a side note - you seem to be looking younger in every video. Not sure what you’re doing but whatever you’re doing is working! Keep it up!
Yes, including getting hair!
Mike is a robot and Mark keeps modifying him
As far as I know, it was only the earlier Lyc. IO-720 8 cylinder engine that was used initially that he bought back that's now on Scrappy. Correct me where I might be wrong on this.
@@danblumel I'm local to Mike and he personally told me that he had bought the plane back from the guy he sold it to.
The STOCK Lancair kits are not nearly as strong as the Glasair series, fully aerobatic 6+ positive & 4+ negative, while NEVER an inflight break-up.
Wow I love this !!!!! (keep the goon going boys) !!
Mike I have very much missed you airplane builds. Looking forward to this series, and many more. Blessings in your endeavors.
Nice. Many of us habe been waiting for this to see. Looking forward 🤩🤩🤩
I've been waiting for this one. Thanks Mike!
Can't wait, looking forward to seeing the build.
BACK TO WORK !!
OH YEAH !!! Deep into Turbulence !! I can't wait !
I have been waiting years for this video. I want to see more! Turbulence is the coolest airplane on earth in my opinion. I want to see flyby's and inflight videos. Hearing the engine sound is important 😁
Woohooo Mike Patey and airplanes are back!
Always a pleasure listening to you speaking about engineering.
Can't wait !
Can’t wait for this, also wanna see more flight videos of turbulence!
Oh yes! This is the series I was never sure we'd see but man the engineering curiosity of how it was built has always gripped me.
Yes!!! I've been waiting for this!👍👍👍
I had noticed Turbulence in the background of some of your latest videos and you've confirmed my suspicions she was back in your care. Can't wait to see the rest. 😁😁😁
Wow Thank-you. I'd always wondered if I had missed the build of this.
You spoil us to much 😅
Fun series, interesting to know the history of Turbulance.
Also can't wait for the draco X build to start, scrappy made me follow your channel.
Mike makes everything better.
I have been waiting this for a looong time ❤❤
Awesome! From the day you first mentioned Turbulence, I’ve been dying to hear the backstory, the challenges, how you did it. Can’t wait for your series on this!! Time for 🍿!
I watched your video where Turbulence engine Blew! Had no idea who you are. This video was quite an eye opener! PROPS to you ! Following.
SO stoked for this series
Hello from Minnesota!! Can't wait!!
I did some research on that beauty having peaked my interested in the background, but there's nothing quite like hearing it from the man who made it. So, in summation, very excited for this series!
Hope everything's well with the house!
Love it, can’t wait to see more of this series!!
This will be a fun series; this plane has been a mystery and we have seen it fly when you raced your brother in the jet. We have seen Turbulence in the background of some of your past videos and you stated you were sad because you had sold it a while back. When I noticed it back in your hanger, I wondered if it was the same plane or if you had built another V.2. So now the story will finally be told, according to the builder. Can hardly wait...
Your new house is really cool, but frankly I'm glad you are back to postng airplane videos. I was sad to see Turbulence get sold, but then Chandra told me some months ago that Turbulence is back. I am really looking forward to this video series. Thanks a lot!
3 plus years of waiting and we get this. At least Jimmy’s World is there to keep our attention
Mike Cannot wait for these for sure.
Please don't forget the house. I'm pretty sure we're all hooked. Anything Patey works for me! BACK TO WORK!!
So glad you are back to airplanes, they are much more interesting than house builds.
Can’t wait for this series!!!
About time. This plane is my favorite non military. This definitely is my dream plane.
Really looking forward to this!
Don't leave us hanging! Video every day! 😂😂
I’m glad you’ve got it back ! I’m excited to see the video series!
Ever since I saw the Scrappy wing build, I've wanted a Turbulence run down. Out of all your crazy mind comes ideas few people have thought to conceive let alone try to make reality....Super Super looking forward to this series!!
Cannot wait to follow this series.
I'd love to see more about your old builds. Even if it's just photos and you talking about the modifications, not just your aircraft builds either.
This is awesome. I didn’t think you were ever going to talk about this plane. Few years ago I was trying to find as much information about it, but there wasn’t much to find. I’m very excited about this series. Thanks Mike!
Oh, fab! Looking forward to the series!
Awesome content as always! It will be great having some insights about Turbulance, thanks for sharing, Mike
Good stuff Mike! I’ve always been fascinated by Turbulence! Happy we get to see some more esp from the engineering side!
Amazing! Love the sit down and chat style to the video too!
I always loved Turbulence :-) I'm excited to learn more about its evolution!
I've been waiting to see more about Turbulence :)
Great idea to share the build and the records you were going after as well as how much you bested them.
A friend of mine dubbed his garage workshop "The Lab of Deadly Prototypes" as a tongue in cheek nod to his various projects that have come out of it. We need a similar moniker for Mike's hangar.
I can't wait! This is a bad unit! 💯👌
Thanks! Turbulence is what originally but you on my radar! I predict this will be one of (if not the most) viewed series for you Mike. Thanks all your efforts!
I cant wait to watch this! This is goingt to be my most watchef series!
Turbulence is a beautiful aircraft, and one of my favorite! Cannot wait to learn more !!
all right an aviation story!😁
I’ve been waiting so long for more on this aircraft It is absolutely a beautiful machine
I've been away and busy for the last three weeks, so I've not been able to keep up with your videos. I'll go back and start with the house later on today, but I am most certainly interested in watching this 'mini-series' on Turbulence. Do you still have any of the older Legacy airframes? I mean, the 8 cylinder I'm pretty sure not, since that engine is in Scrappy. Speaking of which, have you found a new, constant speed prop for Scrappy yet?
Anyway, I am in awe of your engineering, design and fabrication abilities. I look forward to this series.
Finally! Turbulence .... thank you! ;)
You have a long list of lifetime achievements you do in a months. Multiple things at the same time. In completely different fields. While having a family. Impressive!!
Can't wait to see this series! You are a freaking mad man!
I was fortunate enough to speak to you in person two days before the crash of Draco. I wanted to share with you the concept of a VTOL that could go fast. When I woke up and saw the video of Draco crashing and thankfully you being alive to talk about it, I thought that's it, there's nothing that can be done to make a standard configuration aircraft completely safe on takeoff and landing. This reinforced my commitment to the concept that God planted in my imagination.
It's easy to compile a set of components that can function and make the concept work. What's not so easy is boiling all the required functions into the simplest, lightest and most reliable design. I'm nearly ninety percent there. I'm beginning the physical process of bringing the parts to reality. I really like the test, break, improve thought process.
Oh yes!! Excited to see the build, and a young Mike with hair.
Mike did you ever know Darryl Greenamyer? I met him through my flight instructor back around 2001-2002. He was good friend of my instructor. Darryl like you enjoyed going FAST in airplanes.
For that matter so did Buddy Head, my instructor and mentor. Both of these aviators knew many in the air race community.
Thanks from Thailand Mike! A long overdue look at your record-breaker!
I literally CAN’T WAIT!!! 🙏💪🏼🔥
Man this is the series I’ve been so waiting for, bush planes just don’t do it for me, but I’ve still enjoyed the builds.
I love Mike Patey!
Thanks for the share Mike.
Thank you for the video. You have built two of my favorite experimental aircraft. More please.
Wow this ought to be exciting can’t wait!
So excited about turbulence build....👌👌
Been waiting for this one! Awesome!
This will be really cool , can't wait.
Awesome, thanks for giving us the inside scoop on Turbulence, Mike.
Will really enjoy the nuts & bolts of Turbulence!!!
The Patey's are living the life!
Yay!! Airplane videos again! 😜
So excited, Mike!!!!
Yes! Something to look forward to on a the reg!👍👍
Love the house updates but thanks for sprinkling in some aviation content back in!
