I really enjoyed your video. It is the most informative for the specific group of people focusing on video editing over gaming. What CPU do you recommend to go along with the 3060? I am looking at Intel's i7-13700k. Do you have an opinion on a CPU that might be a better combination with the 3060?
If you don't care about overclocking then you should go for 13700 instead of 13700k and save some money on your motherboard also and 3060 will be little bottleneck for 13700k
I’m coming from the 2070 and just picked up the 3060 12gb and after watching this video I made the right choice. It was easy to install plus I’m editing red raw footage and it plays back no problem. I was looking to get an 3080 but the prices are crazy I’m happy with the 3060 best bang for your buck!
I just ordered the Asus Dual RTX 3060 V2 OC 12GB for Video Editing specifically. Your video helped me land on this card! Thanks. I don't game, so this card seems to be a good pick at $290.
Good call. I just installed the MSI 3060. Just prior to installing it I had put together a memorial slideshow with nearly 300 photographs, animation, and music that came in at nearly 5 gig. Rendering took 1 hour and 38 minutes. I redid the project after my MSI upgrade and the render took 35 minutes. One of the other things I am really enjoying is how much improved my Asus ProArt display is. I had high hopes for the monitor but before I installed the new GPU the only thing I could say was that it was bigger than my old monitor. Now I'm not feeling so bad about the 300 dollars I spent on the monitor. All I had to do was spend a few hundred more to get a better graphics card. Who knew?
Came to the same conclusion while looking for a card to do AI stuff. The weird unique 12GB setup the 3060 has is such a happy accident from novideo. Cheap as heck too, I see it sold for as little as 250€ used these days. Bought a 3-fan Ventus 3X a couple weeks ago, great silent workhorse.
I agree with your picks of GPU, and good point about the 3060 12GB being better for content creation. The 3060Ti is much better for gaming despite the 8GB ram.
This was my favorite point made in the video. Several times have I read how the 3060Ti is superior, but I just couldn't get over the 12gb compared to the 8gb ram difference. Very happy to finally know the truth
The 3060ti is much better for video editing than the 3060 12gb. CUDA 4864 v 3584!!! In addition, the 3060Ti has a 256bit Memory Interface versus 192bit for the 3060. And therefore Memory Bandwidth 448GB/sec versus 360GB/sec.

@@markwornom1050 For most people who do video editing, rendering speed isn't that important. You can drink coffee at this time or even set the render at night while you sleep. What’s more important is how comfortable you are working with files during editing. If the program does not slow down on your computer and works quickly and comfortably, then there is no point in overpaying for expensive components. Install a processor with a built-in video core Intel UHD Graphics 770 (starting from Core i5-12500 Core i5-13500 and higher). The built-in video card paired with an external one will work faster. One thing I've learned while video rendering, is my program Sony Movie Studio, actually uses the tensor cores and 3D rendering a whole lot, and not so much the AVI / MGEG encoder chip that much. I thought it would be pegging the single decoder / encoder to 100% during rendering... but nope, it barely makes an impact on it with just a spikey graph of usage. However, the GPU 3D encoder in Windows task manager can hit a constant 60% usage. I was pleasantly surprised by all this... you don't need some dual or triple dedicated encoders only found on super expensive Quatro cards...
If the card is old that does not support h264/265 hardware encode, then an igpu from 13th intel cpu will do way better job. If you can only spend 2-300 on gpu, you better just skip it and upgrade our cpu, much better performance increase.

I bought the rig a few years ago for gaming and for that its amazing but I assumed it would be ok for video editing and I was wrong.
"4k" is only half the battle. The video codec itself can be problematic. For example the 4k in the new Canon R6, R5 etc... is a nightmare compared to the codec from the Sony FX3, A7iv, A7Siii etc... even with a 4090

Does anyone know how much behind 6700 xt is compared to rtx 3060 for video editing?
6700's are not behind actally they compete with 3080's
Can edit video 4k and 8k?
I have the RTX 3090 and Davinci Resolve chugs really bad. I have to use all the optimization options to get a somewhat usable playback when editing 4k video. I'm very disappointed in it. I bought the rig a few years ago for gaming and for that its amazing but I assumed it would be ok for video editing and I was wrong.
Are you saying you think the 3060 he recommended would be even worse than your 3090? I plan on using Resolve too
@@chrisjones1849 I don't know enough about graphics cards to say one way or another all I can say is my 3090 sucks at video processing.
"4k" is only half the battle. The video codec itself can be problematic. For example the 4k in the new Canon R6, R5 etc... is a nightmare compared to the codec from the Sony FX3, A7iv, A7Siii etc... even with a 4090
Where does the 2060 12g stand vs the 3060?
Why no Quadro in the lineup?
Tell me you didnt watch the full vidéo without telling you didnt 😅
Nice video man, good job ! You got a sub from me :D
Brother what about rtx 3050?
what about 4060 series
More like fixing two birds with one thing, right?
$230 for a 1660s is crazy, can get a Rx 6600, basically 3060
3060 12 gig should be good
gj ray i agree, i got ti, eh
Drink more water.
It’s callled “Chapstick”
lol…flagrant
RTX 4090
Ok I'm trying to get someone to make a video and this is where I've turned to for help.
I want a video where a guy pulls himself up by his boot straps; but, and hear me out, he pulls himself up by his bootstraps with his testicles. So like his testicles extend down his pant legs or shorts and got big strong biceps and shit. I feel like that would really hit in the male community and would go viral
bro needs some chapstick real bad
you might need a chapstick
Just have 2 pcs hahaha
Great video🔥 Helped me made the choice to get a 3060 OC over the TI version.
