@@77dris A quick Google will show reputable sites that have tested it on RAW and JPG. It works for both. My R5 manual tells you what the setting does, but it does not specify JPG only. It works in RAW format.

If you shoot Canon, you have the option of using Highlight Tone Priority for shots in harsh light. This preserves details in bright areas.
Although, it only affects JPG.
