Quincy Jones once said that Prince was not a good piano player, that he just knew a few chords. Old man was tripping
Quincy has worked with great keyboard players over 50+ years, so when he says something like that, I understand where he's coming from.
Quincy also said Ringo Star was a bad drummer. He wasn't far off with that assessment.
For a guy who only knew a few chords, that man played brilliantly for my liking. 👊🏾

Quincy never forgave Prince for the whole "We Are the World" thing. He complained about that for a long time, as if Prince had disrespected him personally. Quincy had praised Prince over the years, and that piano remark was a part of Quincy's bitterness about WATW, IMO.
Quincy was and still is a sour, bitter and twisted old fool.

Was at the Gala & 2 other days & this has to be AI or sonethibg b/c Prince looked at audience BUT Not a lot. 1st set was way diff vibe&mood. 2nd set felt a dark sad goodbye & at end of set 1 he walked threw 2 Giant doors that opened on there own w/ mad FOG like walking throw heavenly doors that closed behind him. I saw Prince cry & wipe his eyes while playing twice during set2. Can feel it & the songs he blessed us w/ that night!!! I was up front Set 1 where P faced playing me an he had fun during set 1 except many breaks running to a weird water bottle he had security guard it. 2nd set as you can hear was on another level , dark & stabbed the heart over & over. Swear the Piano never sounded like it did at Paisley that night. Swear the aud recordings from his Piano had a effect (not as clear as here) & both shows were LOUD AF. Lucky to have seen few P&M shows. Still cant believe he gone.......

Saw him in Oakland P&M at Paramouny-SF after party after show w/ Pam Funkstresss membera from Apollonoia 6,etc. He was out of iy definately n a crew of SF cats om Fillmore has treats for him. He left w/ a crew of 20 an didn't come back BUT For The Cracle show he ended up staying on Oak to play n/c people protested n said he didn't care about poor/middle class cuz they couldn't afford Paramount. Also all the people couldn't fit .IDC what anyone says I know for fact he was binging the while the time & looked very bad..emaciated/skeleton like..He wasent in control like Paisley - Paramount..fun show regardkess n long. Plus 3 last songs had drum machines(like for When Doves Cry
