I think we have seen the future record holder in the marathon in this race and his name is Kipchoge. His final kick to the finish was effortless and crossed the finish line with all smiles. Kipsang was a bit more deflated.
axlrosea675 I never said it would be easy and only a a few runners are even capable of maintain such crazy mile splits. But Kipchoge even said it himself that he has found his distance. He is a fairly newcomer to Marathons and with a few more races under his belt I am sure he has all the tools to set a new record.
ToddiThaKid Brendan Foster and Steve Cram is the best running commentators I've heard. A joy listening to them. Ther's a lot of them out on RUclips, but I wish there was more.
I have only won one race in my entire life but alas, it was a large race, with about 100,000 other contestants, after I won all the other contestants were killed while I was held captive for nine months.
Excellent! it was nice to see this posted so I could watch and enjoy it. I have taken part in London Marathon 6 times in the past. Would like to do it again soon :)
I met Paula Radcliffe back in 2006 in person and honestly her humbleness as a person and talent as a runner makes her the number ONE in the RUNNING WORLD.
Thank you so much for the upload. Really fun to watch. Are you planning toupload london marathon 2016 if possible as well? That would really be great! This year's race is looking even more stacked than ever. Really spectacular times are expected...
You’ve run your heart for 26.2 miles and come in the top 3, instead of getting a drink and composing yourself. You get pushed around by an official so the precious media can get their photographs. Shocking!
I don't think the traditional approach is the fully the right way to go. People like Kipsang may not have the track speed to compete with the others. He has a lot more slow twitch muscle fibers so it would not work out for him. However for the track people they can can move up in distance as they get older. Also, I think it's easier to gain stamina and endurance to run longer distances than to gain or increase raw speed to run shorter distances.
Why don't marathon races have a mirror at some point near the end to help the leaders see who's behind, instead of constantly turning, causing them to slow, slightly?
Did you all notice that at 1:39:23 that old man is there at the end of every London marathon and believe me I have watched all the London marathons ( just quarantine things )
Oh *only* a 5:38 first mile. Lol man, they look so bored at that pace, which will almost make one forget what a blistering pace that is for 99% of the population. These women are such incredible athletes.
Did anybody tell Tufa that the Marathon is not a 5 or 10 k race. It just seems that her speed toward the end of the Marathon is unnatural to the event. Not even a trace of fatigue, and her legs look as fresh if not fresher than the beginning of the race. I pretty sure Tufa could have broken 220, absolutely sure.
Can someone please explain to me, what's the difference between the 'Elite men' and the rest of the other crowd running? Why are the elite men running alone from the crowd?
David Harrison It's basically the real competition. The rest of the crowd are just the people that want to run a marathon, the elite is like the professionals or whatever and they run separately so people can see them better and they're not crowded together at the start
+TechReviewsUWant Channel i have a question. Are these more difficult than Olympics 5k and 10k runs that people like mo farah do? And how come Mo farah doesnt do marathons? Do marathon runners compete in the olympics etc? im a bit confused xD
+Ruben Toder Marathons are a whole different race compared to what farrah does. The reason he doesnt do them (usually) is because these runners are faster then him at long distance.
JamesTriesPvPing thats hard tro believe tbh, Mo farah at the end of a 10k sprints towards the end. Its just strange to me how he does do much marathons
Wow....greatest runners. Who is the arse that keeps telling them to move to different places? They just finished running a marathon - at a very high level - and fat boy is trying to give orders. Lol.
+miamiorlando1 They are trying to organize what happens at the finish line. You don't want a women or any other person who had a head start to cross the finish line before the fastest man.

George Orozco seriously? awesome race, but to kill the current wr absolutely everything has to work out on a given day.
axlrosea675 I never said it would be easy and only a a few runners are even capable of maintain such crazy mile splits. But Kipchoge even said it himself that he has found his distance. George Orozco
yeah, possible. i want to see it get done though. it's just so hard, even for him.
George Orozco You are a prophet, ha ha.
Prophet for real Berlin 2018 eliud kipchoge 2:01:39 world record
Thank you so much for posting this with english commentary instead of spanish or german like every other running video.
ToddiThaKid Brendan Foster and Steve Cram is the best running commentators I've heard. A joy listening to them. Ther's a lot of them out on RUclips, but I wish there was more.
Jon Peder Dalsbø They really are so good at commentating. They capture every race so well, the Olympic track races, XC in Edinburgh, everything.
+Jon Peder Dalsbø except one of them sounds a little drunk all the time

Only 100.000? On average this kind of race has some 100 million starters.
Respect to all Ethiopians and Kenyans runners.. with all due respect to other runners.
Excellent! it was nice to see this posted so I could watch and enjoy it. I have taken part in London Marathon 6 times in the past. Would like to do it again soon :)
I love how several of the elite men have PRs faster than recent marathon world records.
Such an incredible time we live in.
I met Paula Radcliffe back in 2006 in person and honestly her humbleness as a person and talent as a runner makes her the number ONE in the RUNNING WORLD.
Did you take a selfie with her?
Ha ha haaaa. Number 1 for real..
This is what i call elite runners: Kipchoge, Kimetto, Kipsang, Biwott. Bekele missing only and it could be best of the best gathering.
Thanks to all kips from kenya (kipchoge, kipsang kimeto etc)
Who else is watching this after Kipchoge is the verified goat?
The way Eliud Kipchoge is acting on the home straight is exactly the way I would do it, if I have won the London Marathon. :-)
+Jon Peder Dalsbø you will never win the london marathon. Good try though.
But of course! Me too 😉
The record holder and the 2 last record holders in the same race, amazing.
Depending on who Kenya and Ethiopia pick to run, the 2016 Olympic marathon might be the most exciting one yet!
ciao:)
Spoiler: Kipchoge wins it.
But very exciting indeed, Feyisa Lelisa ran amazing for Ethiopia
Keep Running, Keep Smiling, Kipchoge

That always irritates me! They should stop that
Kipchoge is amazing
A rival but always a warm embrace at the end. Gentlemen.
Thank you! I have been waiting for you.

That's Dave Bedford, former athlete and London Marathon race director (y)
The sound goes out at 51:29 or so
you went deaf briefly. audio is fine
Finish with smile.. only legends can do. Usain Bolt/Kenenisa Bekele

Agreed. Incredible break
Dang, Kipsang is just poetry in motion - so gorgeous. Eliud's form is textbook, though.
Why is this course different from the London 2012 course?
Road works and constructions
kipchoge got awesome form
no shit
Jeptoo has a very funny running style ...what style is that?!

You should cut the disabled people out of it they're so boring to watch!
Are they not people?! Nkt
It's so boring when they put the wheelchair people on. They should make them do theirs hours before so we don't have to watch
Go n put them away
