I'm hoping NWA will improve and grow due to WPC reviving the territory system... There are reboots of three of the main NWA territories Championship Wrestling From Florida, Georgia Championship Wrestling, & Jim Crockett Promotions (Mid-Atlantic) I'm hoping he can make an arrangement with these promotions and several others to bring back the true aura of the NWA.
Yes, losing Cornette was a terrible blow. He has a lot of fans. And that worthless Stu Bennett ass-munch showed up. It was hard to understand two words in a paragraph that he was saying. He sounded like an outboard boat motor idling. 😂
There's nothing wrong with having tyrus on the roster, it's just that he really shouldn't be world champion. There are still some things I like about the NWA like their tag team division, the women's division, and I'm kind of taking a liking to Ricky Morton son.
Yep same with EC3, Trevor, Latimer ect. At least, they’re not trying to put titles on Gaagz and Sal. They got to stop burying the young guys to push older guys. It isn’t working. Crockett Cup nearly destroyed the tag team champs. Both of them looked weak all so Trevor could look awesome. It’s a slap to long term tag teams.
And don’t get me started in their NWA USA show. Wow. And that episode with the segment of introducing new designs for the US tag titles and trying to give em to The Fixers (the champs at that time) was cringe. That Wrecking Ball dude was just cringe saying no and going on about “It has Fixers on it” which was some tape in the belt and “The Fixers” written in permanent marker. And dude was even going “You’re trying to challenge me that’s what it is right?” Like oh my god I just had second hand embarrassment watching that. I was shouting “TAKE THE FUCKING BELTS MAN! YOU AND YOUR PARTNER ARE STILL THE CHAMPS BUT WITH A NEW DESIGN!”
Those early episodes of Powerrr were literal GOLD!!! The epic rise of Tim Storm with Nick Aldis (now on Smackdown), Eli Drake (now LA Knight), Ricky Stars, Eddie Kingston, etc etc. The original "10 Pounds of Gold" Series was one of the best wrestling series that has ever been produced, the heartfelt story of Tim Storm was just incredible storytelling. Why would they DELETE all of this???
I’ll be real I can acknowledge the clear drop in quality but I still enjoy NWA I think if Corona wasn’t the booker then they can be great as honestly I like how there’s not a lot of mainstream stars on it other then EC3 because it means they can build their own stars I just think they need a much better booker but again it’s just my opinion.
After the lockdown, it's been tough for NWA. Plus, they are a "territory" that the big national companies are siphoning talent from. I will give NWA credit for having some very hard working talent though........ it's not like they've just given up.
One of the worst things about post-pandemic NWA is most of their matches don't have a clean finish. It makes it so pointless to even watch. I canceled my sub after that match where Crimson and that other big muscle guy had an awesome no DQ match only for it to end when Crimson's partner came out an threw in the white towel. I was done after that crap.
I quit watching NWA when they went woke on Jim Cornette. And they continued to make idiotic moves. However, I might start to watch again because they hired Allie Recks! That is the best move NWA did in the past two years!
It says a lot that with all the talent WWE has released in the last couple years NWA hasn’t signed any of them. They either aren’t trying to get them or the wrestlers aren’t interested.
I watch Powerrr sometimes and it’s like… one of the strengths of the pre-pandemic NWA Powerrr was the women’s division and that’s still true to an extent, they get a lot of attention and mic time and are presented as equal stars to the men. The product also uses a lot of good journeymen like the NOW or Jay Bradley who still have a lot to offer. There’s not much else that’s any good lol, they don’t have any standout young talent to play off the veterans like they did with Ricky Starks for ex
I honestly think NWA will go out of business within 3 years if Billy Corgan doesn't change his entire philosophy and way of operating the NWA. First off, the nostalgia act of NWA Power died within the show's first 6 months of existence. I know "2020" happened and that halted NWA entirely until 2021, but if you remember, in 2019 when Power first debuted, the show had some modest momentum behind. People online were talking, NWA Power had over 1 million or so views on RUclips, The Rock tweeted about NWA Power which generated a light buzz, but the momentum of Power died fast. By 2020, the buzz greatly faded and there were a few hundred thousand people watching on RUclips weekly, then the events of 2020 happened, and nobody cared about the NWA for a year and when they returned in 2021 the nostalgia act was long dead and gone. I think for NWA to continue on they need to keep the studio style of wrestling, because it's their only way of sticking out, but they need to modernize it. No more cheap variations of the studios from the 1980s, cheap 80s music, no more cheap looking 80s ring design and cheap 80s intros. No more hiring all of pro wrestling's biggest rejects who cant get hired anywhere else. The 10 pounds of gold needs to go too. Completely redesign the NWA World title and retire the 10 pounds of gold, because for the last 35 years (excluding the 5 years it was the Jeff Jarrett title in TNA) , the 10 pounds of gold has been a championship that the big leagues didn't care for so the title was tossed around small time, no name promotions that ran shows in bingo halls, school gyms and bars and they drew 40 people to the shows. And in one of those bingo halls, a midcarder threw the 10 pounds of gold down in the ring, refused to be called NWA World Champion, because he said the NWA died 7 years ago and this situation took places 29 years ago in 1994 in a bingo hall. Another thing, NWA needs to start over from scratch. What made the NWA so popular from the 1940s to the 1980s is that they also kept established stars while continuing to establish newer stars, like Lou Thez, Buddy Rogers, Jack Brisco, Harley Race, Dusty Rhodes, Ric Flair and Sting. Now the NWA has.....the Funkasaurus.....the inbred tag team guy from WWE...... The NWA has a lot to change but I dont think they will. If NWA doesnt change, then they should just shut the company down. The NWA is a dead horse that has been flogged for 35 years now. Either shoot some new life into it or let it finally rest.
Only 3 times has the NWA world title been relevant. 1) the old NWA from inception to when WCW fully split from them in September 1993 2) during its time in TNA and 3) the Colt Cabana-Adam Pearce feud and the 7 Levels of Hate series. When Colt won people talked about it for a bit. And that 7 Levels of Hate series was unique but thanks to the bullshit going with the regime of that time things started to take a turn
I thought it was a very interesting time in wrestling impact was doing something similar, from week to week you had no idea who you were going to see, now AEW every week someone is all elite
Look at this year's Crockett Cup that just happened over the weekend. I won't reveal spoilers but comparing this event to even the 2022 Crockett Cup is a scary downslope.
since billy owns them i wonder why he never tried top use any of the college arenas in chicago, they would sell out i mean roh was doing bigger crowds than nwa 15 yrs ago in chicago. and it would look legit, these sets now look like watching aaw on public access in the 80s.
I don't know why, but I've just not been a fan of studio wrestling. I tried with WOS and NWA Powerrr when it first started. It's nothing against the talent in both those shows, but I feel like having a studio audience hits different from other shows I've watched filmed at nightclubs, sport centres and other locations.
Since both the 2020 pandemic and the loss of their creative Dave Lagina(due to a sex scandal),NWA has been pretty cold as it's time for Kamille to take the big step and head over to WWE/NXT to further her career(with Thom Latimer as her seated audience member/die-hard fan).
They got raided after they couldn’t land a real tv deal and had to get rid of Cornette and Lagana because of the woke mob. They do a great job with the talent they have.
I can't watch the newer episodes of the show. When it first began, it was completely different stylistically than anything else, so some of the old-fashioned things such as the lack of entrance music and things like that made the show unique, and didn't bother me. The more recent shows are just like everything else, but without ring music. It makes that much more annoying than it would have been when I was watching a show that looked like an old wrestling show
If you need proof of how bad AEW's women's division, watch Thunder Rosa's matches in NWA, then compare them to her matches in AEW. When you have a roster of women who are professional and know how to properly work, you can put on good matches. AEW doesn't have that. NWA did when Rosa was there. If Rosa had chosen to go to IMPACT or WWE, her matches would be good because their women, for the most part, are professional and know how to properly work.
I never missed an episode of season 1! It actually got me back into pro wrestling again. But it is unwatchable to me now. But I can see LA Knight and Aldis on WWE.
They need to go back to Atlanta or maintain a studio where they won't have to lose money and cut costs. I think they were st their best staying in Atlanta and only having ppvs in different venues
Billy has lost his mind. I can't believe he said if you don't watch NWA because Tyrus is champion, you aren't a true wrestling fan. No, no... Tyrus sucks and him being on Fox makes it even worse.

The NWA will grow it just takes some time , they are finaly going in the right direction .
losing Jim Cornette was the beginning of the end
Lol, no. Stu Bennett was better than Cornette in every way possible.
At least, the took the title from Tyrus now. Let us hope for more chnges for the better of the show and the company.
I DID archive the NWA episodes whilst I still could.
Do you still have them?
Glad i archived everything from Powerrr up until the Pandemic
I’ll be real I can acknowledge the clear drop in quality but I still enjoy NWA I think if Corona wasn’t the booker then they can be great as honestly I like how there’s not a lot of mainstream stars on it other then EC3 because it means they can build their own stars I just think they need a much better booker but again it’s just my opinion.
After the lockdown, it's been tough for NWA. Plus, they are a "territory" that the big national companies are siphoning talent from. I will give NWA credit for having some very hard working talent though........ it's not like they've just given up.
Sal the Pal is horrible. I tried with the NWA Powerrr. It went downhill fast.
I was done after that crap.
this channel really doesn't know how to not rip off other people's thumbnails.
This decline is SO BRUTAL wth!!!
I still don’t get why people like Starks. The guy is 100 lbs soaking wet and has the worst spear ever. Gilberg had a better spear.
It's always a shame when it comes to these promotions, I wonder what's gonna be next
NWA must have the old episodes locked away somewhere. Even Impact still promotes their old TNA matches on their RUclips channel.
They're on fite tv behind paywall
@@Visitor145To hell with Billy Corgan for that
Frankly the Women and midcard are the only redeeming parts now. The ME scene is godawful.
🤔is dak draper and Maddy ready to be more than midcard?
I quit watching NWA when they went woke on Jim Cornette. And they continued to make idiotic moves. However, I might start to watch again because they hired Allie Recks! That is the best move NWA did in the past two years!
They don't have a lot of power these days
It says a lot that with all the talent WWE has released in the last couple years NWA hasn’t signed any of them. They either aren’t trying to get them or the wrestlers aren’t interested.
With how things are now, I’d say the second option. Lol
Always had a soft spot for NWA, sad to see it falling apart.
Pope should've held the title. Firing Cornette was bad too.
Once the pandemic hit and they went behind a paywall...they were done.
Did you have to be a patron member to watch other matches on NWA power
I like this format! Can u review an nxt black and gold episode vs an nxt 2.0 episode
NWA deserve so much better. Such a legendary wrestling promotion should be owned by someone that can give it better respect and attention.
Good review
Tim Storm was dope
I miss the one sided bleacher stands they had. Felt very authentic and original
I would love to see a Kamille vs Bianca Belair or Kamille vs Rhea Ripley. Those matches would be EPIC
Or Kamille vs Statlander, kamille vs Raquel Rodriguez, kamille vs shida. So many beautiful options
I don't think Kamille has anywhere near the talent of any of the top WWE women, other than the goofs like Rousey.
Remember, NWA Powerrr Was before AEW debut and and the return of Impact in USA
I stopped watching after Aldis lost the belt. I couldn’t get into Murdock as the champ.
Nick Aldis’ departure from the NWA was the final straw for me.
I was hoping to see some Shooter Stephens and Question Mark.
Also, Sal deserves better. He's a former ROH tag champ
They got raided after they couldn’t land a real tv deal and had to get rid of Cornette and Lagana because of the woke mob. They do a great job with the talent they have.
I lost interest when they sacked Corny, then they lost a bunch of good talent and it's never been the same.
I can't watch the newer episodes of the show. When it first began, it was completely different stylistically than anything else, so some of the old-fashioned things such as the lack of entrance music and things like that made the show unique, and didn't bother me. The more recent shows are just like everything else, but without ring music. It makes that much more annoying than it would have been when I was watching a show that looked like an old wrestling show
Why Downfall? 3 Months ago they got the second highest YT Video?
🤣 oh stop
If you need proof of how bad AEW's women's division, watch Thunder Rosa's matches in NWA, then compare them to her matches in AEW. When you have a roster of women who are professional and know how to properly work, you can put on good matches. AEW doesn't have that. NWA did when Rosa was there. If Rosa had chosen to go to IMPACT or WWE, her matches would be good because their women, for the most part, are professional and know how to properly work.
Aye. Rosa was booked as an absolute beast in NWA. AEW watered her down so much.
I never missed an episode of season 1! It actually got me back into pro wrestling again. But it is unwatchable to me now. But I can see LA Knight and Aldis on WWE.
Aron Stevens looked like he got his wrestling attire from goodwill in NWA. Those trunks look like skin-coloured underwear.
They need to go back to Atlanta or maintain a studio where they won't have to lose money and cut costs. I think they were st their best staying in Atlanta and only having ppvs in different venues
NWA has got 100 % better.
Seems like the only folks complaining are the Nick Aldis fan boys.
Billy has lost his mind. I can't believe he said if you don't watch NWA because Tyrus is champion, you aren't a true wrestling fan. No, no... Tyrus sucks and him being on Fox makes it even worse.
Lou Thesz, Buddy Rodgers, Dory Funk Jr., Ric Flair, Harley Race guys would be ashamed to see Tyrus as NWA world champion and not liking Tyrus doesn't make me a wrestling fan I bet I have more wrestling knowledge than Billy
@Ricardo Reyes Billy's actually been in the game for a while actually. He was going go purchase a portion of ECW, worked in Impact wrestling for a bit and has been a wrestling fan his entire life. Which is kinda sad seeing how NWA currently is.
EC3 is lifeless.
Lol I like his promos but his knees are gone. Yet Billy still puts him over the young guy Silas. It’s sad.
Covid ruined so many “small” businesses,
NWA Powerrr being included. Man that season 1 was full of great wrestlers and the studio looked legit. It could’ve been something special. What’s wrong with all these owner/bookers doing dumbass things like the gimp and orange Cassidy
That was so weird… My Alexa answered 19
Was gonna start watching it but unfortunately, it's hard now with the changes happening
I got that season one DVD..... Cult of Cornette 🤟
Damn Right.
Im 48, Black, live about 20 from JC, AND that joke was NOT ill intended. I left after JC left
@@MyNameIsUnavailable same here I left when he was thrown under the bus he brought legitimacy with his commentary
@@danielcantu859 Nah, Bennett was so much better than Cornette and he had better chemistry with Joe Galli. Cornette leaving NWA is one of the things that made Season 1 so good.
Agree with you,I watch NWA every week.
How did they go from Season 1 in 2019 to Season 12 now. That's 3 seasons a year.
It looks like watching Heat or Velocity, but with less star power
NXT Heat or TNA Velocity 😂😂😂😂😂
I really don’t want Tyrus to squash LA Knight so you earned this sub.
NWA is going to do what WCW did. Misuse their young Talent
Kamille looks like the real life version Alison Brie's character, Liberty Belle from the show GLOW, was based on.
And yes, I know she wasn't...😐
Wait, Into the Fire? Like by Dokken? Sorry I just don't get to watch a great deal of wrestling now. I try to stay up-to-date though
Yes, the song by Dokken. Then it changed to a Pantera song for a minute and now it's Billy's own band doing the intro music.
@mandy018 thank you!
Fine job.
They put the title on the god damn funkasuras
I didn’t know they DELETED the old episodes….. I thought they just moved them to something with a paywall… what a waste lol. So many stupid decisions.
They are behind a paywall on Fite Tv
Tyrus as the World Champion didn't help
WOW your voice triggered my alexa, and it also chose the number 5...
Tyrus can’t squash my favorite current wrestler Braun Strowman
He could literally. Not in a match tho
They had gold with Matt Cardonna, but destiny just isn't on their side...
theres been alot worse episodes of power than that one recently billy steamrolling pat kenny and not having someone willing to tell him what to do right like he had when corny was there...
